Some questions about PS4 Remote Play

Hi y'all.

I recently saw the PS4's capabilities to remote play on PCs, and I've been really considering getting it. However, I have some questions that I thought would be better answered here directly.

1) Will I require a beefy computer? I have a standard desktop Mac running on El Capitan, and is that enough for playing with maximum settings? (other info will be added when I get back from work)

2) Can I safely connect the controller with its USB cable? I could still buy the official wireless adaptor, but the guide keeps mentioning that I can connect it with a USB cable, although I can't find anywhere else that says that.

3) Do I need special procedures to close the application? And how do I unlink the controller? Will I need to use a some kind of "shut-down" button or can I just press X on the application?

4) And lastly, is it worth it? I don't want to spend 25€ on the adaptor unless Remote Play is real good, from your perspectives.
