Maybe converting to PS?

I’ve been a die hard Xbox fan since the original. Last PlayStation I’ve had is PS2. I’ve been considering purchasing a ps but I’m so used to Xbox and the configuration of the controller. What are some major differences between them? Instead of buying the new Xbox one X this Christmas I may get a new PS
