Getting started in ffxiv

Hey guys and gals,

I just downloaded ffxiv and I'm totally overwhelmed. I'm getting thrown quests left, right and center. I have no way to track single quests on the map. Too many things are on the screen, and I can't keep up.

Any help or tips you guys?
