Tried to buy a season of a show, only got a trailer...
Was browing PS Video and looked for American Gods as I've been meaning to watch it but haven't wanted to deal with yet another subscription. See it available for 20 bucks for a season pass. I buy it but then the only thing I have available to watch is a bonus trailer. What did I misunderstand and what can I do about it?
PS4 just started making some crazy noises
I put it in rest mode but it kept beeping like something was continuing to press the disc eject button every 15 seconds so I booted it back up and the disc drive began to make a whirring type noise like a disc was starting up but no disc was inserted, it would whirr for a few seconds then stop, whirr then stop, and it just kept repeating that and the disc eject button wouldn't respond at all like I press it and no beeps were made so I shut the system off completely and then turned it back on and everything seemed fine so I put it back in rest mode, please tell me my ps4 isn't screwing up, I seriously can't afford a new one right now

Need help regarding using an external hard drive.
So i bought a seagate 3tb external hard drive today and installed about 7 or 8 games i did not have space for with my launch 500 gb ps4. I started playing Mafia 3, everything was going fine and then i would start getting this horrendous input lag. So much so to the point i couldnt even play the game. So i switch it over to rocket league and its doing the same thing! My inputs on the controller wont work for like a 3 second delay, and after a minute or two it will go back to normal. Has anyone else had this problem?
My right analog stick has a problem that it can't turn as fast to the left as the right.
I've tried multiple games and all of them have the same problem, so it's obviously coming from the controller
I play siege like crazy and this malfunction has gotten me killed countless times. I simply cannot look to the left as fast as the right.
Any ideas on how to fix?

I am looking for a game to sink some time in to and I’ve narrowed it down to these three. I plan to really only play during my free time from school, but want something I can explore for a while. I love big open world games like The Witcher 3, Zelda Breath of the Wild, and pretty much anything I can get lost in. I also like games like WoW where I build my character up over an extended period of time. I’m interested in Xcom too since I like the Civ games as well. Im new to PS4 but it defiantly seems like the US get much better pricing on games and deals are more frequent, especially on big games.
Games such as the order 1886 is practically the price of a brand new game in the UK whereas its much cheaper in the US and it has been on sale for $3.99 before, the best we got was £8.99.
Is it ok to make a US account, buy US credit and then switch to my main account to play the game, i really want to get the Tlhe last of us Remastered for $9.99/£7.40 as apposed to it not being on sale here and being £35.
Weird random disc ejection problem
So for the past year or so my PS4 has been turning itself on randomly and ejecting the disc and will keep ejecting the disc if i try to put it back in. It happens with every disc i own and when the PS4 is in rest mode and completely off. Does anyone else have the same problem or know a fix to this?

Hi there PlayStation community, I need some help regarding uploading my videos to YouTube.
I've been trying to upload a 10 minute to YouTube. For some reason every time I do, it ask me to try and sign into YouTube over and over again.
I've tried going into settings and into account management, and saving my YouTube account stuff there and it saved it. But when I tried to upload it again, it asked me to sign in again and again.
I doubt it's the length of the video's fault, I've uploaded longer before, and I've already tried uploading shorter videos.
If you know how to fix this please help!
Help Recovering Save Files from Corrupt Hard Drive
Hello all,
Like a royal idiot, I cut power to my PS4 slim yesterday while it was in test mode. Unfortunately for me, my idiocy resulted in a corrupted hard drive and it is requesting I reinstall the PS4 software. I've already downloaded the software on a USB stick and have recovery software I got from this guide.
My question is, how am I supposed to hook this up to my PC to run the recovery software? I want to try and extract as many of my game saves as possible before I install the new software on my PS4. I built my own PC, so I have SATA ports on my motherboard that are easily accessible, but I'm not sure if that is the correct way to go about solving this issue.
Does anyone know how to get a trial by making another account?
So I haven’t been able to play my PS4 because I’m in college so I had to leave it at home, anyway is there a way I can get a trail for a day or two? I don’t want to pay $10 for a couple hours of playing a game, but I just want to play a little bit of Rocket League (the free game once offered on the PS Store) but the problem is I have to have plus to be able to access it since I didn’t necessarily buy it but it’s a plus game. Very low party chat audio while streaming?
Ok so I’m streaming to Twitch from my PS4. In the stream, you can hear me perfectly but my friends who I’m in a party with, you can barely hear. I literally have to connect headphones to my pc with the volume all the way up and I still can’t hear them. Their audio is loud and clear through my headset that’s connected to the controller but as I watch my stream on my computer, their audio is coming through very very very low.
I tried having my audio output switched to tv but that still didn’t work. Can anybody help?
DualShock 4 keeps the down button on D-Pad pressed down.
Hi. I was normally playing Tekken a few minutes ago and out of nowhere, my character started to act weird. I've noticed that the game wouldn't register the "up" input. Since I was in practice mode, the game shows your inputs on the bottom of the screen. Then, I went to the PS4 menu and... well, it register as if I'm holding the "down" button down, when I'm not. Could you guys help me?
I'll probably have to get in line with everyone else...
So I recently got a PS4 and it's great except for one thing. My NAT type, I'm stuck with moderate no matter what I do. I've rebuilt database twice, enabled dmz, enabled upnp, and did port forwarding and still no change. This doesn't seem like everyone has fixed it the same way but I'm at my wits end. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

Do Bluetooth Speakers work on PS4?
Hey I recently purchased an LG monitor (23MP68VQ) and set it up with my PS4 and (idiotically) didn't realise that the monitor I purchased doesn't have any speakers, so I'm now playing games without sound which isn't ideal.
So my plan of action was to purchase maybe a Bluetooth speaker and connect it to the ps4 if possible so the sound come out of the speaker, is this possible? (I know I can put headphones into my controller, but I also want to watch media like netflix and don't want to be wearing headphones all the time) :)

Hello, Besides being unethical can someone explain why this wouldnt work. So you pre-order a game thats digital for the PS4. They say they will charge the CC on the day of release, BUT because you preordered a special edition you get the game (lets say)3 days early what stopping you from getting the code and then cancelling before the live date? Do special order games with advanced playing dates get charged on the day you can play and not the day the game goes live? Im assuming they had a smart enough system that can tell them ok we sold X amount that need to be charged this day, and Y amount on this day, am i right? Has anyone tried this?

trouble with Error (nw-31456-9)
Hello, earlier today at about 11 AM I was in a party with a friend and I was in the middle of a ranked match in Rainbow Six Siege and I got kicked during the match. I lagged out and I couldn't reconnect and now I am getting the error (nw-31456-9). I don't know how to fix this and now when I test my internet connection everything is fine but my NAT type shows that it's failed EDIT: it fixed itself. Also I don't know why I was downvoted lol

Will Remote play work on a Windows PC tablets?
I've seen other topics similar but none post 2017 since they pulled the plug on Remote play. Anyway there are plenty of Aftermarket tablets that run Windows and Mini touchscreen PC's out there under $200 (Google the Pipo x10 or CHUWI Hi10 if you need a reference to what im referring to) I'm wondering if something like these would work until PS4 got off their high horse.
Final fantasy 9 cheats are way too easy to activate accidentally and kill the immersion.
Ever get a knock on the door or a phone call, you pause your game,put the controller down on the sofa and accidentally activate a cheat? Me neither until final fantasy 9 on ps4. It's happened a couple of times now and totally kills the immersion. Having L and R buttons activate cheats on the pause menu is such bad design considering how sensitive those buttons are. Loving the game but really want this interface issue patched. Anyone else see this as a problem?
Account wants me to change password, but I can't remember my old email.
I created this account way back in early 2014 and by now I have forgotten the password for the gmail. A few days ago, I tried logging in and it said "Update your password" and it refuses to let me log in PSN. I tried recovering my gmail, but nothing. I tried contacting playstation through live support, and the serial number I created my account with does not work. I can prove it's my account because it has my facebook picture with my face. Is there a way I could recover this account? What if I actually made the account on PC and not a PS4?
What design genius at Sony thought of this?
The built in video capture function in PS4 is great. It lets people record funny/ interesting moments that happen in game without buying a capture card. But what dumb fuck at Sony was in charge of the controls for this function?
For context (I'm sure you all know this) in order to record something you press the share button on the remote and then square and it will save the last 15 minutes of gameplay. However, if you accidentally hit the share button twice it deletes everything it had recorded thus far.
Seriously, I can't tell you how many times I go to record something and end up with 3 seconds of video recorded because I accidentally hit the share button twice for whatever reason. Maybe I hit it once and it didn't come up immediately so I hit the button again, or I hit share then decide I want to play a little more before recording so I hit the share button again to make the menu go away. In either case the PS4 interprets that as "Oh, delete everything!"
Can this option please be changed to something else that's not so easy to accidentally do? Like put the option to delete everything in the menu that pops up when you press the share button, not hot keyed to pressing share twice. I honestly can't believe someone thought that was a good idea
Is it possible to use Android TV to overlay Pandora while playing ps4 games?
I personally prefer Pandora's algorithms over Spotify and want to use Pandora and the in-game audio at the same time. Can android TV (assuming the TV has it built in, maybe roku TV, or webs) overlay Pandora and the hdmi source simultaneously? Thanks for the help

How long does it typically take a game to download?
I bought NBA 2k two days ago. Originally, it said it would take a total of 15 hours. No big deal, I went to bed and woke up and it changed to 8 hours. Then yesterday, it jumped up multiple times and now it says it will take 36 hours to download.
I have done speed tests on my internet and there is no abnormality. Haven't had an issue anywhere else, just downloading the game.
I'd anyone else having trouble trying to upload videos?
I link both accounts as usual and then when I select upload to YouTube it makes me sign in again. It does this over and over again. Anyone else having this issue?

Sorry for the poor title but didn't want to make it to long. But ive been having an issue with my ps4 and controller(s), I'm not sure if controller drift is the right thing to call it but on any controller I use wirelessly I get intermittent disconnections where my character (destiny mostly) will keep moving or adsing when I'm not pushing the thumbsticks at all, I've done some testing and noticed that it only happens when something is between the controller and the ps4, wether its the corner of my table, my knee or just a cup. Anything that doesn't give it direct line of sight will cause this. The only way I can play without interruptions is to wire the controller to the ps4 and that is a mess to do.
If anyone has any ideas on what can fix this that would be great otherwise I'm gonna go try to trade in my ps4 for another.
Little bit more info. This is the launch ps4 and it happens on 3 different controllers one only being a week old

Hey, I've bought this 1 TB external hard drive, and I want to put movie on it and watch them on my PS4, but my PS4 doesn't seem to recognize my HD. Fifa 18 installation taking very long
So I got the game through the ps store. It downloaded rather quickly but I have been stuck at the main screen for almost 2 hours. Says installation in progress and its only at 47% is this normal? Has anyone else had this issue?

I am on my way to visit a friend and I took my PS4 with me. Unfortunately I managed to forget my controller at home and turning back is no option. I am going to be gone for a couple of days and stores here will close for a long weekend + bank holiday. Basically, I must know if I need to buy a controller RIGHT NOW or if there is another way to control my PS4.
Cause I also got my Vita with me. My PS4 and my Vita have been connected previously and both machines are familiar with the WiFi at my friends home. Can I just start PS4 Link on my Vita and be able to remote control it and everything? Or is there a step somewhere that absolutely requires a controller. Or is there anything else, like a USB keyboard, I could use to take temporary control until I get my Vita/PS4 connected?
I've also got my Laptop with me and I've done Remote Play via PC before, too.
Anyway, since I am going to be arriving quite late I don't have time to get to my friend's house, set everything up and try a couple of things since stores close quite early in my country. So yeah... should I go and buy a controller or is there a surefire way to get my console and Vita to speak to each other so I still get to play without a controller?

Upgrade your PS4-VR Media Player with Power DVD 17- and play files, that the regular PS4 Media Player won't!
I just accidently found out that you can link your PC-Files Library with your PS4 Media Library using the Programm CyberLink PowerDVD 17.
This way you can playback files directly from your PC, without putting the file/s to an external USB-Harddrive first and then into the PS4.
I also noticed that this way I am now able to playback files and formats, that the standart PS4 Media Player linked to a Windows PC won't play or say that its format is not supported !
It is an amazing upgrade to the standart PS4 Media Player, which I don't ever want to miss again and I think you neither, once you've tryed it!
This is what you have to do to make it work:
1.Download CyberLink PowerDVD 17 and install it. CyberLink PowerDVD 17 - 30 Day Trial Version Download
2.Open CyberLink PowerDVD 17 and go to Settings->Preferences->Media Library
3.Select the ''Movies''-Tab in the Media Library Settings and click ''+ Add Movie Folder'' and choose the Folders that contain the Files you want to playback, this can also be from an external Harddrive Source, which is connected to your PC via USB. Click ''OK'' after you have added all folders and wait for it to update the changed Settings.(The update time depends on how much files are in the folders, how big the Harddrive-Space is and how fast your PC is)
4.Open the PS4 Media Player (prefered with PSVR, if wanted) which now should show up as ''PowerDVD17 - yourpcname''.
(my PS4 Media Player, with a external USB Drive plugged into the PS4 looks like this:
-recently played
-Favourites
-0x13fe USB DISK 3.0 -> the USB Drive that is plugged into the PS4
-PowerDVD17 - mypcname -> the Library which is linked with PowerDVD 17
-MYPCNAME:MYUSERNAME -> the Standart enabled Windows-Network-access/files sharing option, which also works without PowerDVD 17, but will only be able to playback .mp4 format files)
I am now able to watch Movie Files with .mkv Codec/Container for example, which wont play with the standart PS4 Media Player or the enabled standart Windows-Network sharing option on my PS4 with my PSVR. Also you save much time and one free USB Port on your PS4, because its not needed to put the files on a external HDD first and then plug this External HDD into the PS4!
You have to open PS4 Media Player and then choose the -PowerDVD17 - mypcname -Tab (-> the Library which is linked with PowerDVD 17) in the PS4 Media Player List and then go to Video -> Folder, which now should show up all the Folders on your PC or the HDD/s that are connected to your PC, that you have added to the Library in the PowerDVD 17 Program, which are containing Media Files.
It doesnt play all files, but most Movies and codecs/containers, that the regular PS4 Media Player can not play!
I think every owner of a PS4-VR should know this feature and I would be happy to get responses from other users!
If it didnt show up in the PS4 Media Player, you probably have to change the Windows-Media sharing-Settings first, and/or enable the Network sharing option in the Windows Network Settings and/or enable the external user access to the HDD which contains your folders and files. If all that didnt work, and you have made all these settings, try reboot your PS4, it should show up then correctly, if it dont, please report back so I can help solve the Problem!
Someone like PSVR Frank(who reaches 10.000+ via Youtube, or someone else like that) should do a Video about it to spread this Information to most PSVR Owners possible!

My laptop has a vga. Don't see why this wouldn't work unless it's output only? I don't know but it's a dell vostro 3558 if that helps.

Need help navigating Ps4 to add device to the app
Hey please help me yesterday came back home finally and my Tv is not turning on its dead , I found out there is a Ps4 app to use phone as a screen, I connected the app to Ps4 but now it wants 2 things:

On the PS4, select [Settings] > [Playstation App Connecting Settings] > [Add Device]

Enter the number that is displayed on the PS4 Screen
But I have no screen how can I see the code and need to navigate there first pls help

Pairing PS4 Controller with PC causes a key to act as if it's held down
Hi, I'm trying to connect my Dualshock 4 to my PC using a mini Bluetooth USB adapter. I can connect it but as soon as I open a game it appears that left trigger is being constantly activated despite it not showing up in DS4 or in-game inputs but it means the game is unplayable. This happens with or without DS4Windows open so much be an issue with the Bluetooth

Hey so city builders aren't exactly my personal favorite gerne but my 11 year old brother has been telling me about this game for quite a while now.
I'm just worried he'll touch the game once, run out of patience and go back to racing games lol. He probably saw a youtuber play it and got excited.

PS4 titles you wish had collector/action figures?
So I'm a bit of a figure collector (mostly One Piece, Godzilla and dinosaurs), but I'm not sure if this community is so big on figure-collecting. Feel like it's a niche thing. Just wondering if anyone wished some titles merchandised figures. For example, some The Last of Us character/infected figures would look awesome if they were anything like those "photorealistic" Walking Dead deluxe figures by McFarlane. Horizon Zero Dawn also warrants some stellar figure material with both Aloy and some of the machines. There's something about the novelty of displaying good figures that has me so enamored. Pricey hobby though.

Now, before you link me any reviews, I know the common scores already: 5/6 out of 10. Is it really that repetitive? I'm someone who enjoyed Mafia 3 A LOT, even though people claimed it was repetitive and flawed.
Nowadays, reviews are mostly popularity contests and bad games often recieve 8/10 scores just because of a big name.
Would you recommend this? I'm mostly interested in the actual good things about the game. Most reviews only focus about the bad. Not sure whether to wait for an even bigger sale or not.

Alright r/ps4 I just got back from a trip to Ireland where I spent the majority of my time checking out castles. Now all I want to play are medieval style games like Skyrim but without the magic. Video playback is frustrating.
I have been using the PS4 for a lot tv show apps recently and I always seem to hit the trigger for it to rewind or fast forward.. sometimes it skips to the end of an episode before I even find the controller. If I it put it somewhere like a night stand I have to be careful when putting it down or picking it up in case I accidentally hit a trigger. Any tip?

Stolen PS4 not at my house
Hello,
This morning I had police turn up at my house claiming they had traced a stolen PS4’s IP address to my house. I said they could come in and look around but they didn’t want to. I dont have a stolen PS4 (or any type of playstation) so why would they come to my house? Is the gps locating so accurate that it can actually narrow it down to a single address? I’m not really interested in being woken up by police again for no reason.

Black screen trophies
Over the past several days I have been obtaining trophies for a game that I play. The only problem I have is when I achieve these trophies I get a black screen where the screenshot should be. I suspect this has something to do with an update to the PSN software. Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it? I tried Googling it but nothing came up. I can’t play Fortnite due to an apparent network problem

Ps4 won't read brand new game
Hey looked at the subreddit rules so hopefully this is okay. My PS4 isn't reading my games at all, I even bought a new game, but the PS4 still doesn't read it, so I know it's the hardware. I tried rebuilding the database but that didn't work either. Im not too keen on taking the PS4 apart and seeing if it's probably the blue laser, but I will if I have to. Any other suggestions I could try before doing that.

Lego City Undercover is a broken mess
My wife and I have spent nearly 60 hours trying to 100% this game and the furthest we can get is 98%. We have completed every zone and mission 100%. The map shows that we have unlocked everything for every zone and mission - except for 23 mysterious gold bricks. We are two achievements away from platinum, yet, we can not get it because the game is just mess broken mess.
During our play through we encountered numerous crashes and glitches. At times we couldn’t select certain characters during free roam unless we entered the disguise booth and changed the disguise to something else. Objects would fail to render completely. We would have to leave the area completely and upon coming back the random things we were looking for would finally appear like buoys in the water or race markers.
I know this is an older game re-released on the PS4, but it is still unacceptable for it to be as buggy as it is. They could have taken the time to resolve these issues, but they didn’t. We noticed similar issues with Lego Batman 3 and other newer games. It seems to be that TT just doesn’t care enough about fixing their games, just raking in the sweet money from couples like us who want to play casual games together.
Anyone have any ideas if we can transfer a 100% save game and unlock these final two trophies we’ve worked so hard for?

Ergonomic controller for ps4?
Here's the story , I now have something called "trigger finger" apparently and I'm pretty sure destiny 2 was the icing on the cake. I think years of using Playstation controller caused this, especially first person games where you have to press R3 to sprint which put a stress on my left thumb. In any case, my thumb is messed up now and was wondering if there is any alternative to the Ps4 controller that I can get. Thanks in advance
Help fixing PS4 browser video player issue
Recently I've ran into an issue where I'll try and play a video on the browser and the browser will basically freeze in place. The video also freezes but the audio plays fine. It will continue to play after I close the window and if I return to the XMB menu it continues until I open an application. If I open the Quick Menu everything is fine but Sounds and Devices will display a blank screen. There's been no changes to my internet and the site worked fine 2 days ago. So far I have tried rebuilding database, clearing cache, and getting rid of some games but none of these have worked. My PS4 has the latest update as well. Anyone else ever have the same issue and are there any other fixes that I could try? Any help would be appreciated.
Gundam Versus subtitles?
Just got my pre-ordered copy of the game and fired it up and go into battle with no subtitles even for the cinematics. I read several posts pre launch saying it would have subs. And I can't believe they'd give us this game this much later with no English subs for character or cinematic dialogue. Am I missing something.

DualShock4 USB power surge?
Hi all, so I am much more of a PC gamer than a console gamer, but I do enjoy playing with my original DualShock 4 controller. The Bluetooth receiver on my PC is on the back which causes a lot of problems, so obviously going wired is the way to go right? I wish it were that simple, when using a micro USB cable, if the cable moves even a micrometer in the controller, my USB devices turn off and my PC tells me there was a power surge on the port and I have to restart. I have the most luck with the cable that came with the PS4, but every other cable causes the problem immediately. Has anyone else had this issue? Is there anything I can do to make this better?

I transferred some of my saves to a hard drive and have started going through them. Some clips have audio chat others do not. The game is rainbow six siege. Why is That? Is the difference between party and game chat?

Just as the title says. I've tried using Bluetooth but I practically have to point my controller at my PC for it to get a connection. Even then when I connect multiple controllers we all get latency issues.

PS4 Pro running hot
I booted up and updated my PS4 pro I bought and was trying to add my debit card, when I went to touch my PS4 it felt really warm, like kinda hot. The only thing I change was making it run on boost mode but it wasn't playing a game or anything and it felt hot. I know my room is kinda warm because of the heat but shouldn't affect my PS4 like this right? Or is this normal? I also bought it a kooter pa4 pro vertical stand cooler but idk if it's doing its job now :/ Any help or ideas?
Having issues getting my headset mic to work on a DSS2 Surround Sound processor
I'm using a DSS2 to get better sound out of my PS4. But I'm not really a technical person so I am having some issues. I have a headset with mic so I am running it through the DDS2. And the game audio works great, but the mic does not work. My headset only has a headphone jack. From what I have read I do not have all the necessary things to get my headset to work but I am confused on what I actually need. What else do I nee to buy in order to get chat audio?
WiFi Antenna needs replacing?
I have had this PS4 since 2 months after it came out (so I'd assume it's the first generation). For a while now, I have experienced lag so bad that online games are completely unplayable. (I've stuck to single player games on PS4 due to it). In the past, I got about 18Mbps/7Mbps. When I log in I get around 8mbps down/6mbps up. Even that is terrible compared to what I should get. In the beginning, and when I run 2.4GhZ WiFi speedtest on my laptop I'm getting around 20/7. After a few online games, I do another speedtest and get around 1mbps/100kbps.
I did a bit of research and learned the wifi antenna is horrible in general on PS4, so I thought it was normal.
Recently, my controller has started to just randomly not work at times (or overwork(?)). I have to put the controller directly in front of the console to make it work. (This is not a line of sight/interference issue, my setup hasnt changed in years). Through a bit of research, I found this could be due to a broken WiFi antenna. This would make sense seeing how bad the connection I'm getting is. I found some on Amazon for 10$.
Does anyone know if this could be a cause/has experience with an issue like this?

PS4 Media Remote not working in apps
My PS4 media remote no longer works in Netflix, YouTube, or WatchESPN, maybe other apps too. Anybody else start having this issue recently? I have tried deleting and reconnecting the device without any improvement. It still connects properly and can navigate the main os menu.

I want to be able to capture the party audio with my Elgato. I currently have the TB PX22 headset. In order to use the AMP, I have to use the OPTICAL port. I do this so I can regulate the party audio and the game audio indepently. But if I do this, the Elgato won't pick up the party audio since the party audio is directed to my headset. If I send the audio through the HDMI port, I can record party audio, but have no control over party audio, which was really loud last time I tested. I am wondering if there is an option available that will allw the Elgao to record the PS4 party chat and allow me to independently control party chat from game audio. Disconnect internal hard drive question
Hi, my brother is having issues with the disc drive on his PS4; he has the Nyko databank with 3tb connected which reads as “internal” storage. Is it safe to disconnect the data bank to access the PlayStation screw for manual eject without formatting the hard drive upon reconnect? Thanks in advance

Does anybody else who use Netflix on their PS4 experience some shitty bugs? Like alot of buffering. Subtitles gitching out and not appearing when tho subtitles are on? I have good internet so it isn't my end causing it to be buffering alot. It started to happen after a patch awhile back it feels like. Hi guys,
Seems to be a lot of confusion in regards to HDR on the PS4 Pro so I thought I'd make a definitive video of all the knowledge I've amassed over the duration of my home theater forum browsing etc.

Do I need to delete a physical game from my HDD if I'm downloading the digital one?
Now that big games are ending up on PS+, I've been thinking of downloading some of them that I already have on disc so I can access the game easier without swapping discs in and out.
Since I already have these games installed on my HDD because they're on disc, do I need to delete them and reinstall the digital game? Or can I just download the digital version and it'll fill in whatever blank and let me pick up like I never left off?
I see posts all the way back from 2014 that said you need to delete a physical game from the HDD just so you can download the digital version, but that seems a little weird since it's the same game and I wondered if it ever changed in the years and firmware updates since.

Hey so recently I have started to use a different tv for my gf's ps4. After trying every option I still have a black screen. I have turn off hdcp on my gf's ps4, still black screen. I have used a splitter and only with hdcp off I get an image. I can not find a way to have hdcp on and get a picture even using a splitter. My ps4 works fine on this tv without a splitter and hdcp on. I have tried different ports, cables and changing resolutions. Please help me find a solution.
Edit: My gf's ps4 works fine with every other tv I have tried with no problems.
Update: Now after using the splitter on my gf's ps4 and enabling hdcp the screen is on but constantly comes on and off as if struggling to keep a connection.

Every year I buy FIFA but share it with my brother across two PS4's. I buy it on one account and we both download it.
Though, this year I was wondering if I can still do that because my brother moved out and he's living with another friend, who would also like to play FIFA on his own account (on my brother's PS4).
My question is, if I buy the game on my account and have them download it on their PS4, can they each play on their own account with no problems? If so, how?

PS4 needs a true online coop ARPG game, like Dragon's Dogma but online coop...
Imagine if you could fully co-op Dragon Dogma, wouldn't that be amazing? We need those kinds of fully fledged coop ARPGS or even RPGs.
Not Diablo 3 or MMORPGs like Neverwinter, Skyforge or ESO that look cheap or are too complicated or full of fetch quests and grinding... I am aware that in Japan they have Dragon Dogma online but it looks like one of those MMORPGs...
Something like the old Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance, with blocking mechanics (shield) and coop mechanics would be nice, e.g. Torchlight gameports. Even Dragon Age Inq full coop campaign would be awesome.
I guess the Souls series or Nioh can be played coop but it's overtly complicated, would be nice if they released pure coop modes so you don't need embers, humanities and effigies or whatever and you could actually do the whole game together and it would save on both systems.
One can only dream... sigh... lol
Is it bad not using the right power cable for my ps4
So as the title suggests i don't use the original cable for my ps4 i currently use a sky box one, and i do have a ps3 wire, just really wondering if its not good for the console

I have a ps4 at my Dad's house that's hard-wired to the router there and want to use remote play at my Mom's house. It can never find the PS4 and I've read that I need to open up ports to allow the connection. Which router do I need to do that for or is it for both?

It transferred perfectly, I go to my clips and it says the following: "This data is not supported by the PS4." Following a code: CE-34201-0 in brackets.

Question about the Nier Automata ending and starting the next playthrough...
I finally finished the first ending to Nier Automata the other night. Since it was late I didn't begin my second play through that night and intended on doing so yesterday. However, I ran into an issue yesterday, I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong.
Whenever I go to continue on the main menu the game continues from the perspective of a robot. (He's screaming about his brother) Once you get a pan, fill it with some oil, it pans to the dude, the game promptly ends after a few minutes of running. It goes through the quick credits and then takes me back to the main menu. I tried multiple times and it always continues from there. My save file shows endings AG at the moment. I cannot figure out how to start the second playthrough! I tried searching around on the web and cannot for the life of me figure this out.
Is my game save bugged? I really want to continue playing, but really don't want to start from scratch.
Thanks to anyone who has had the patience to read this and will take the time to help me out. I was trying not to go the ask reddit route, but this is always the fastest way to get a good response.

Charging cables not fitting into controller
I've noticed today that the charging cables seem to be at an angle when I try and plug them into the controller. I'm not sure if it's still charging (I press the ps button but because the controller is already fully charged the bar is full) would the bar still be flashing if the cable is plugged in but it's fully charged? I've tried with two cables (one that came with the ps4 and an extended one I bought) and have checked there's nothing in the pin by using a toothpick. I'm wondering if the charging pin (not sure if that's what it's called) has been displaced slightly and if there's a way to fix that. Nothing dislodged in there as using a toothpick hasn't picked anything out. Thanks for any help anyone can suggest to fix this

I think the regular controller design is outdated. Sticks don't allow for the precision control that we all want.
So instead of having 2 sticks, the controller would have 2 track balls. It would make aiming with the right stick much more enjoyable.
I know for movement, having to keep rotating the left trackball would be a nightmare but how about (and i dont know if this is possible) a spring where you would start in the middle, roll to the edge and keep it there to keep moving in that direction and if you release it, a spring would pop the trackball to the inital position.
For FPS games this would work wonders but for other games, maybe you wouldnt want the spring on, so it would be up to the developers to activate the spring for their games.
I think this would be a nice step in gaming evolution.

Can't connect to PS4 Remote Play. Is it because of the firewall, and is there a way to get around it?
I went through a good deal of work to run cable and plug my PS4 into ethernet, just so I'd have a better time using the Remote Play feature when I'm out of my house. I planned to use it at work (we have a good bit of downtime on occasion), but, come to try and use it, the application can't connect to the PS4.
The error code I get varies-- I just tried it again and got 0x88010c36. But I have successfully used this elsewhere: in other rooms at my place, my girlfriend's, and at a coffee shop. This kind of leads me to believe that the firewall at my work is preventing the Remote Play application from getting through.
Does this sound accurate to anybody else? The only reason it seemed kind of odd to me is that I'm able to get onto Steam and download/play games just fine. Does anybody have any suggestions for getting around this without telling my work "please open a port in your firewall so I can play my PS4 here?"

PS4 with liquid damage
I sent in my ps4 for repair and apparently, they wont repair it since it has liquid damage. Anyone have any good solutions of where to get it fixed or what to do?

So I installed a new HD and since then I can't turn off my ps4 I have to wait for it turn off by itself or else when I turn it back on it gives me a screen that I have to download the latest update which I just cancel out of the menu then I turn it back on then it works (sometimes I have to do this process multiple times) is there a fix to this

I'm not sure if I should pay the extra money for a PS4 Pro. I can get a nice price for a PS4, but I'm not sure yet if I should settle for the "cheap" or aim bigger. I won't have a 4k TV any time soon, so that's one point off the PRO. I'm really excited for Monster Hunter World and many other tittles I couldn't play in the last years, and also other upcoming tittles. In terms of performance and, specially, longevity which is more worth?

Weird question: I want to watch a P.T. playthrough, but I hate scary things. Are there any P.T. playthroughs that are somehow made "less scary?"

How well does GTA vice city est play on ps4
The optimisation on PS3 was awful. Does these games play remotely good on ps4?
PS4 turns off from rest mode. Already replaced power supply.
I replaced my ps4s power supply about a month ago and it was working fine up until about a day or two ago and now every 2 days or so I'll come home from work to see my ps4 has been turned off from rest mode. It also won't turn on until unplug the power cable and plug it back in. I've already tried a different power cable and that doesn't work either. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Help with troubleshooting a DS4
I recently replaced the button control circuit film pad ribbon thing (also, what is the actual term for this piece?) and everything was working fine until now the R2 button won’t register. I tried swapping the rubber pad from the L2 to see if that was the problem but it still won’t work. L2 works fine. Did I just get a bad part or is there some sort of fix for this? I appreciate any insight. Thanks.
Edit: I just put the controller back together and now the R2 registers whenever I swing the camera around with the right analog stick. Whattheactualfuck.

I'm just a bit sceptical if it's worth it buying from the US account.
It wouldn't be tragic if they ban my US account from PSN, as long as I keep my purchases.

Buying a PS4 today, but which one?
Well....today is the day
After two years of wedding planning and saving, moving house, getting all of the boring stuff sorted, I can finally get myself a PS4 as a reward.
The first piece of the puzzle was complete last month - picked up a 4k Samsung tv, however I'm not too sure on which PS4 to get!
It'll be the 1tb either way, however I don't know of the pro is worth the jump? Or of sticking to a standard is fine? It'll be used for the standard stuff.
Any advice would be appreciated. I was leaning towards the standard 1tb, and getting a pro later when cheaper if I think it's required

ive been trying for the last hour to get overwatch and a year subscription and it doesnt work. ive tried changong adresses, making everythging capitals even making a new account for that one purchase and nothing works. ive tried my moms, dads and my dads work credit cards and nothing. imo if playstation wants people to buy stuff from their online store they should fix the bugs... smh
Need help with PS4 Slim HDD replacement.
Hey guys, so I bought a PS4 Slim back in June this year. The model that I got came with a 500GB HDD. I didn't think I needed to replace the HDD because I initially thought that I wasn't going to be playing that many games. Suffice to say, I was dead wrong.
As of writing this, I've only got 50GB left on my PS4S HDD.
OK. Story time.
Now I've got a 1TB SSHD that I bought a little over a year ago in which I initially used for my 2011 MacBook Pro. I've since replaced that SSHD with an SSD. The problem is that the SSHD is still formatted with macOS. I would like to use that SSHD to install it into the PS4S.
Also, I share the PS4S with my housemate and so he and I both have got separate user accounts for it.
I'll get straight to the point with the questions.
Q1: How do I reformat my 1TB SSHD to the PS4 Software. (with macOS still in it)
Q2: How do I retain/backup game profiles, saved information...etc etc?
*Bonus Question: Is it possible to make things less complicated by just duplicating/cloning the files over to my SSHD and installing it straight away. Only problem with that option is that, I still have no idea how to reformat the SSHD.
Any help at all would be very much appreciated!
DLC bought on other than primary account
So I have a US account which is set as my primary, this is where I buy my games as it's cheaper. Then I have an EU account. This is where I play my games. However I made the mistake of buying the Season Pass to Battlefield 1 on the EU account, and the game was bought on the US account. Will it still work? Or have I just wasted a fuck ton of money?
PS4 problems, can anyone help?
So my friends PS4 has been acting weird lately it won’t charge his controller or turtle beach headset. It occasionally says “too many devices connected” when he tries to charge the controller and that will be the only thing connected.
He has went through several new micro usb cords and none of them work so I’m sure it’s the USB ports on the PS4
It also gets even weirder because now he can’t even charge his controller or headset through anything else whether it be his laptop/outlet.. nothing works.
He has also tried the safe mode/rebuild method that didn’t do the trick either.
Just seeing if anyone in here could offer some advice so he can get it back working.

I'm trying to win girlfriend of the year, but I need some ideas
I'll try to keep this short. My boyfriend and I just moved in together. Prior to the move in, I was going through some really tough personal issues. He was extremely supportive and invested a lot of time and energy into helping me with things when he really didn't have to. Of course I've told him how grateful I am, but I'd like to actually DO something to show my gratitude as well. There's a PS4 game that comes out in October that he keeps mentioning and then saying he'll have to wait to buy it since he doesn't have the money right now. I googled October releases and I think the one he's talking about is The Evil Within. I'll try to confirm that on the sly. Since we've moved in, he's realized his tv is too small for our new living room. I'd like to buy him a new tv and the game he wants and hook it all up while he's at work that day. I don't know much about tvs or video games and I've never tried to pull off a surprise gift like this before. I'm just looking for ideas on ways to improve the idea or other thoughts. What am I missing here? How do you surprise a gamer boyfriend?

HD, FHD, or UHD TV for my PS4 Pro?
Hi guys here's the deal, I have an old FHD TV and I wanna buy a new one. I'm planning to downgrade to an HD TV, why? Well here are some points I considered:
- I have a poor eyesight and I wear an eyeglasses almost all the time.
- I personally don't notice any difference with an HD and FHD picture especially when I'm sitting from across the room.
- I'm not fond of 4K resolutions especially in watching movies because it takes up more disk space (I pirate movies. Sorry producers)
- I preffer more fps than larger resolution. (I believe PS4 Pro has this option on lower resolution screens, no?)
- lower resolution = smoother gameplay and less power consumption, right?
So there, am I choosing right? Any inputs would be appreciated.

Relatively new to PS4, just finished The Last of Us, and now I need something new that will excite me...
After not having played video games for over 10 years, I bought a PS4 Pro and PSVR last fall.
My first game was Batman: Arkham Knight, which I enjoyed a lot despite not having played the others in the Arkham series. I liked comic books a lot growing up, so this was a fun game for me.
Then, I played Uncharted 4 and thoroughly loved it. So I decided to fill in my knowledge gap with Uncharted, Uncharted 2, and Uncharted 3. The first one was okay (it's an old game graphically, and the gunplay got repetitive). 2 and 3 were fantastic. It felt like playing Indiana Jones.
I then put in the most hours I've ever put into any game (since Zelda: Ocarina of Time) into Horizon: Zero Dawn. That was beautiful, very unique, I loved the futuristic/sci-fi elements, the combat was a lot of fun, and I really liked the story--probably my second favorite game to Uncharted 4 at the time. I'm looking forward to The Frozen Wilds.
I like soccer, so I played FIFA 17, and I've bought FIFA 18, which I'm sure will be casual fun to play. I also like Star Wars, so I played Star Wars: Battlefront, which I didn't really enjoy. I'm hopeful that Battlefront II's single-player campaign story keeps me more engaged than just shooting things (though I do like the starfighter dogfights).
And then, everything changed with The Last Of Us. I don't like horror games, and I'm terrified of zombies, but I got myself to play this game anyway. I was absolutely captivated by the story--it's not really a horror game at all. And what a finish! I felt drawn in, attached, and by the end even learned to enjoy the stressful suspense of sneaking through a roomful of infected. This game was on another level for me--even though graphically it didn't feel as cutting edge as 2016/2017's games, it drew me in and had me wanting more. I played Left Behind immediately afterward, and cannot wait for Last of Us: Part II (if that releases in my lifetime).
Right now, I'm playing Uncharted: Lost Legacy, and I like it. But I don't anticipate it being a particularly long play. So, now, I'm searching for my next PS4 adventure to captivate my attention. I have no idea what that game should be. I'd like to find a new game (one from 2017 preferably) that I'll enjoy.
There are a few games I will look to play in 2018 like Spider-Man, Days Gone (if I can take the zombies), and Detroit Become Human look cool. And God of War/Red Dead Redemption look intriguing even though I haven't played any others in the series.
But right now, after Uncharted: Lost Legacy is done, I don't have anything new on the menu, and I'd like a suggestion. These are the 2017 games I've been looking at, but nothing really seems to jump out at me:
- All the reviews/recommendations I've read highly tout Persona 5, but I haven't played any of the others, I don't really like anime at all, I'm not super jazzed about RPGs, and turn-based combat is a big turn-off. I really want myself to like it, but everything I've watched about the game (I watched a walkthrough of the first 20 minutes) just does not seem fun to me. For lack of a better word, it just looks kind of...childish. What am I missing?
- I've heard great things about NieR: Automata, particularly about the game's story (a good story seemed appealing). But then I watched some of the gameplay (the first 30 minutes), and it really doesn't excite me. I want characters I care about and that have personality. I also haven't played the first one. Similar to Persona 5, it also looks kind of anime-ish or childish.
- Yakuza 0 caught my attention, but I haven't played any of the others. I watched the first 20-30 minutes in a walkthrough, and I was kind of meh on it.
- Nioh doesn't really seem like my cup of tea. Hack-and-slash fighting and combat with evil spirits and such just doesn't seem enjoyable to me.
- Bloodborne doesn't look fun to me for the same reason as Nioh.
- Witcher 3 seems like a beautiful game that could interest me, but I don't want to take on another open-world RPG--especially one that seems so massive.
Can someone convince me to bite the bullet and take a chance on any of the six games I've mentioned above? Or, ideally, is there a really good game that I haven't played yet that seems to comport with my interests/likes based on what I have played? I'd really like to be excited about a new game.
TLDR: I just played The Last of Us, and I need a new game (preferably from 2017) to get excited about, but a lot of the ones that have gotten good reviews just don't seem very interesting to me. Help!
When it says it saved a video clip, where does it go?
I just got a triple kill with one bullet and wanted to share that, but the process was so long that it kicked me out of the game. Now the video clip is gone too. How do I access it?
Help picking between these monitors
BenQ RL2460 vs. Asus Vg245H. Out of these two monitors, which is the better performer for competitive FPS? In particular, Rainbow Six Siege. I like the BenQ because it has Black equalizer but the ASUS is cheaper as well as having thin bezels.

I want to buy a Ps4 at the end of next month and I have some questions.
Hey, english isn't my first language, I'm sorry for any errors.
I'm kind of tired to constantly invest into a new PC or upgrading it. It just sucks too much money and I feel unlucky with my PC anyway. Since years I have a hardware failure every 1-2 years and I'm sick of it. I couldnt play anything this Februrary because my HDD and Ram failed. All I could do was sit on my couch and play stupid phone games. So instead of actually buying a proper PC for 800€+ I thought to buy a console, the Ps4, cause my best friend bought one recently and it seems to be a pretty cool console. I had a Ps3 like 10 years ago on my parents house and games like Nfs Shift,Fifa or Gta4 were amazing fun. I want the old game feeling back, where I do not constantly alt+tab out of my games and check messages in chats or whatever because it already turned into a habit and I cant stop it. It always "throws" me out of the game.
Anyway this was kind of a prolog, just to put my situation out there. On to the questions.

I do only have a 24'' Acer LCD Monitor, I might plan on buying a proper Monitor or TV in the future, but I do not mind to play on my PC chair and basically just sit on the average Pc-gaming range so to say. Am I in a disadvantage with my LCD Monitor compared to a TV?

I dont remember what frames Gta 4 had, but I remember it looked smooth as butter, just as the other games I played on ps3. Do 30 Fps games on console look better than when I play with 30 Fps on PC? (maybe due to dvi-d?) because Gta 5 looks horribly laggy on 30 frames on my pc (yes it skips from like 25-60 frames, depending on the situation. And I get quite some stuttery-ness every now and then. But it never looks any smooth in the 30 Fps region, so I'm kind of scared that I might be too spoiled cause of PC gaming. But when I'm watching older hardcore PC players play Gta online on Ps4 they never complain about Gta5's performance on the console.

(Horizon:Zero Dawn, MGS, RDR 2, Gta 5, Paladins, Overwatch,Warframe and plenty of others with my best friend) Will I be fine with the 1tb version? I mean it's the only option anyway since there is no 2+ tb version, but I could apperantly get an external HDD. Do any of you use these? Do they not actually slow the game down? I remember back in the day when I had a old HDD I never installed anything on it from my PC cause of thinking it would be performing worse.

Can I run and play on the ps4 all day? I might play games on it for like 4-5 hours and then watch netflix while eating or whatever and play for another 4-5 hours. Is the console fine with this? I'm really out of the loop with the current generation.

ps4 separate mic and cans
I've been using headphones through my receiver and want to use a separate USB mic for voice during games but the usb mic i just got had two cords connected(usb and 3.5mm) for use on a computer, needless to say it didn't work. Can it be done easily, did I just get the wrong mic? thanks

PS4 Pro feels a bit slow
I dont know, my ps4 just feels kinda slow, when scrolling in menus (ex: Madden) The game just seems much faster and smooth, when i see youtubers play it. Does anyone might have a fix for this issue?

Horizon Zero dawn is the worst game I've ever played.
Jimmies will be rustled by this but from a solid 10 hours I've put into it, I cant stand the obnoxious combat. Touted as a action RPG yet cant decide on being that or a stealth game and so far finding it doesnt do either well. Jack of all trades master of non it is not. If not for the incredible story and soundtrack and the graphics.
I would easily rate it a 1/10, maybe 2/10 if I'm being generous. Don't get the love for it.
Help please! Steering wheel question!
So, I recently bought vr and the next logical step is a steering wheel!
I was looking at getting the Thrustmaster T300 rs but there's also the GT version available. My main question is as follows, is there any need for a 3 pedal set up or should I just get 2? I'm guessing I'd need to get the stick shift add on to utilise the 3rd pedal anyway? i can't recall a game ever having a clutch when transferring to manual shift.

This card is not valid
Just tried to make a purchase on my PS4 and it said my card details aren't valid. I used the card about an hour ago to buy some fuel so it's not the card. Deleted the information from my account and tried to re-add it, but it says the card isn't valid and highlights the card number in red. Any ideas?
PS4 Exclusive Co-Op Games?
My brother has a PS4 now, also has an xbox, so I was trying to think of a cool PS4 exclusive that we could both get that has co-op that we could play together.
EDIT: We both now have PS4's, wasn't sure if that came across with my post, so the co-op game doesn't have to be limited to split screen.

Best Way To Maximize Hard Drive Space?
I currently have a 1TB (About 870GB actually)SSHD installed for the PS4. I'm running out of space quite quick (250GB left). What would you recommend I do In order to get as much space as i can without having to buy a new HDD/SSD/SSHD for the following years, and approximately how long till I can't install games onto the system?

Dual device audio
Hey is there a way to have my headphones plugged into the controller for all audio a a use a USB headset for the microphone? I am in a party with my friend and my headphones plugged into my controller has a weak mic but great audio. I want to use my USB headset for the microphone because it has a better mic. So is there a way to have the USB for input audio and headphones (plugged into controller) for output audio?
