Thanks to the advice of people here, I turned off my network connection, loaded up Just Cause 3 for the first time and ended up playing all afternoon. I had only a few minor frame rate drops, quick load screens, and a blast flying around the map liberating villages.
This is the best PS+ game I've played since Sleeping Dogs.
For those having issues, this game is worth the hassle of turning off your connection before playing.
Microstransctions and loot boxes / crates seem to be this unstoppable force that's eating up everything in its path converting purchased games into endless money streams. Horizon was a fairly recent major AAA title I played had none of that but it seems like more and more that's the way things are going to be headed. And even Horizon had the ground work laid with treasure boxes.
Shadow of War's single player crates is just breaking new ground but it was always an inevitability. Just like whatever Red Dead Redemption 2 online turns out to be. And everyone here, myself included, loves Naughty Dog but even they have literal multiplayer weapons and boosters paywalled in TLoU; not cosmetic but actual game affecting content.
So is there anything that can stop this? Supporting devs who don't do this is an idea but then what's to stop them from doing what Psyonix did and just doing it a year later? Is a future of everything being monetized after purchase simply an inevitability?
I can't even be mad at the publishers really because it's their job to make money...it's kiind of a Kobayashi Maru with no way to win. Either the products are tainted and more profitable or they aren't and make less money in an increasingly more expensive medium to create games in.
It just feels like this is just going to keep getting exponentially worse with new, terrible precedents being set all the time.
So I wen't to the store and bought a copy of tekken 7. I was really excited to play it. I downloaded and installed the update and waited for the game to install. I played a bit of practice mode, then I tried playing online. But every time I try to enter online mode an error message keeps on popping "a communication error occurred" over and over and over. Is there any fix for this? I really wanted to play online. I am using nat 2 wired connection
Store takes forever to load, video service menu lags... Hell even my bought games list lags like crazy. I'm honestly tired of trying 10-15 times to actually get through the store when I try to buy a game....

Me and my brother were doing a test to see the difference between our PS4 upload/download speeds. Where it takes my PS4 from a couple of hours up to a day to upload or download a 10gb file, it takes my brother half an hour or less. We're connected to the same wifi network and the test was taken at different times to avoid slowing the connection. Is there any way to make mine faster?
Me and 2 of my college roommates are trying to set up wifi for our apartment. All 3 of us may be using our ps4's online at once and I'm wondering what a good internet speed for this is. We have the option of 30mbps, 100mbps, and 300mbps. Would we be ok with 100 or do we really need 300?

So I bought a long usb micro cable and it doesn't work fully with the DS4. It seems to not charge it correctly and also doesnt work with remote play.
I found out that there are two types of these cables, something to do with the data vs the charging? Can anyone tell me what the correct one is?

I figured if there was a group of people that could help me it would be here lol. I have the battlefront edition PS4, received it the day that game came out(disappointed af) the first 6 months or so were fine, I had no issues. However, about 8 months into having it, my games would crash. I mean like mid game, nothing intense going on in the game, but I would get the error code CE-34878-0. I didn't really think it was a big deal at first, so I waited for a system update. Nothing changed. I play about 2-3 times a week during the school year, but every night it crashed at least twice. About a 10 months into the crashing I called Sony 5 times total. They did not help (not saying it was weak service, I mean the solutions did not work) Nowadays, I crash at least 3 times a night, and have been banned for the season in overwatch. Im a pretty patient and cool guy, but these crashes have made me so aggressive while playing and cautious. No matter what game, how long I'm in the game, what time it is, how many applications are running, it crashes. I'm on the verge of getting it repaired, but my warranty ended so it'll cost some money to repair it. Is there any way I can solve this problem? BTW. Other error code that I receive when my system crashes 100%, not just the game: CE-36329-0. Sony made me clear my data and re download all of my games but that did not help. Any ideas?
Why is it that my PS4 Pro acts the way it does? The home screen is always super laggy, store takes ages to open, all around it's just failing me. And now this. I am out $20 because of this, tech support is closed since it's 2130 where I'm at and I demand a refund. Should I just get rid of the Pro and get a normal PS4? My cousin has an original and it works perfectly fine.
After grabbing all of the free PsPlus games this month, I decided to install downwell on a whim. I'd heard good things from different game outlets and wanted to give it a shot.
Long story short it is completely worth (at least) a look! The game is incredibly fast and shines with it's skill based, tight platforming. The goal is to fall from stage to stage, with increasing difficulty. The game is quite hard, however just enough that you just need to keep coming back for one more try. Seriously, give it a shot!
TL;DR: Download Downwell while it's free on Ps Plus!

Never bought digital before but Mass Effect Andromeda at 50% at the PS Store had me reconsidering. I was wondering, however, if this means I'll be downloading the "heavily patched" version immediately? Or do I end up with version 1.00 and then download the patches after installing?
We have very slow internet here, and I pretty much wouldn't want to be stuck downloading this game for a month and then have to download a newer, better version of it before I can play.

This just started like yesterday and I've tried almost everything. Now my controller is completely dead. I don't want to have to buy another controller.
Finally played Just Cause 3 and holy shit is the frame rate garbage. After playing it for almost 3 hours I just gave up, this game is just not fun to play with the garbage performance. Almost every action in the game creates issues with the frame rate and don't even get me talking about this game's abysmal loading times and the horrible online leaderboard that keeps logging you off.
I am really disappointed by Avalanche Studios and how silent they have been regarding the issues for this game. I feel bad for everyone who paid full price for this game. Just Cause 2 was a fun game, Just Cause 3 is not.
I mean, PC Overwatch doesn't charges you extra money every month and works just fine. Why would we need Plus to play games like Overwatch?

Ok so I was moving a PS4 between a few rooms, which along with other cables was connected to an extended electrical outlet, so for the two times I moved it I shut off the outlet itself and would move the console, tv, etc. Well in the same room, the third time I moved it across the room, when I tried turning on the PS4, I got the "Cannot start the PS4" sort of error... I'm absolutely freaking tf out right now because my little brother, who plays on it more than I do, has a sht ton of game progress on some online multiplayers like COD that I'm afraid I just screwed him out of. I suppose I'll figure out how to fix this error, but for now I just want to know: *will I lose such game progress on these online multiplayers like COD, OW, and others? I keep looking it up but nobody directly answers this for sure and it's frustrating me because my little brother will slit my throat when he learns this happened...

I'm not a PS4 owner but I do own a Dualshock 4 and use it to play Rocket League on my PC. I hope I came to the right place to look for help. But anyways, the issue for me is that the R2 button is not responding as fast as my L2 button. In other words, my R2 button feels heavier than my L2 button. I opened up the controller and there isn't any dirt or anything dirty that could possibly slow down the movement of my R2. I previously took out the spring but that just felt worse. Do you guys have any idea what I could do to fix this?

Thankfully you've uploaded your save files (game progress) to the cloud, whether manually, or automatically. (We'll use LEGO Marvel Super Heroes)
You restore your PS4.
You begin the process of downloading your digital games in one massive queue.
This is where the game-save travesty begins.
Next day when done downloading:
Family member loads up LEGO game, there is no current save file. Isn't it glorious that there is no auto-download of save files? Cause lol, right?
Family member closes LEGO.
Catastrophically, auto-upload is on by default for PS+, so LEGO game at 0% progress auto-uploads, with no dialog box warning, over cloud save of 100%.
Completely irreversible. Completely avoidable? Sure. Completely unintuitive? Yes.
Why is there a dialog box to manual update and over-ride a cloud save, but not a dialog warning when auto-upload does it. This should be fixed.
Anecdote
This is how I lost progress to 2 LEGO games I share with my kids. The PS4 suffered a power failure crash, the hard drive never recovered so we had to restore default settings. I did the restore, downloaded games; the kids used it before I could FREAKING individually download every save-file from the cloud. I'm pretty pissed.

I haven't played the game myself but looking at the gameplay. Its definitely looks like the Batman Arkham games. The Amazing Spider Man games did this too but in those games, the fighting and the stealth wasn't even close to the wide variety of moves of the Arkham games and the level design wasn't even half as good either. One hand, its exciting to have a Spidey game that may match the Arkham games in quality but on the other hand, I don't want Spidey to be a Batman clone. What do you think?
Currently mines in the family room and it is literally in the worst spot ever because I have to share the TV. I have room downstairs but the connection is usually bad down there. I'm going to get a personal TV but I don't know where to put it. Best option for me right now is probably in my room but I'm curious where most people put there PS4. Keep in mind I play a lot of overwatch which requires communication so I'm trying to put it in a place where at night I can be decently loud but not wake anyone up. Title says it all, really; have wanted to access PlayStation Now for a while now but no matter where I look or what I search for online, I can't find the application for it or proper information as to what I could be doing wrong.
I don't think it's an issue of where I'm located (Dublin, Ireland) as my uncle had access to the service on his system, and it's not an issue with my connection as if quite strong, so what am I missing? I've seen that there's supposedly an option for it under the PlayStation Store side menu, but if I've checked once I've checked a thousand times and it's definitely not there. It's a shame because I'd be more than happy to subscribe the the service but it seems I just don't have the chance. Do I need to opt into something?

My account was compromised yesterday morning, after contacting PS customer support and answering questions they told me that the account was accessed from a different region and they had made their playstation the primary playstation. I bought my PS4 back in summer of 2014. I have kept great care of it, and I make sure it's clear of dust every week or so.
Ever since the last update my PS4 has been running extremely slow. As the title explains, lately it's been crashing and turning itself off at least once per day. For example: just earlier today, as I clicked on the rocket league application my entire screen froze, and then about 5 minutes later the system shut itself off. Last night I tried to open the HBO Now streaming app to watch the last episode of GoT, and after clicking on the app, the screen froze and about 5 minutes later the PS4 crashed and shut off.
Usually if I let my console sit for a few minutes after crashing and turn it back on, it will be able to open the desired application successfully, but it will respond extremely slowly. Although, fortunately, it doesn't effect in-game speed once in a rocket league match or other games, but this whole situation is still breaking my heart nonetheless.
Has any one else been dealing with a similar problem at all? I've tried looking up the problem, but nothing quite matches. I'm coming to reddit, because, to be honest, I find you all to be 50x more reliable than customer support. So please, if anyone has any insight, I am all ears. Thanks!

Hey guys, I searched the internet and there are a number of methods to set up a media server... With so many updates that have come to PS4 though some methods may or may not work now... I just want someone to point me to a method that they're using? Any links would be appreciated... TIA...
1.) The controller itself can charge provided it is from a different charging cable than the PS4 standard one.
2.) The PS4 charging cable isn't actually broken or not working. I can use it to charge my phone in a plug or the PS4 port.
3.) The PS4 standard charging cable does not charge my controller in the USB ports, but any other cable can.
So what the actual hell is the problem here that I can't make it work?
I took a break from gaming and only returned last November with a PS4 Pro
So with that I'm playing a lot of old games and I'm right now almost finished with Ratchet & Clank.
That is to say not as a completionist, but the story campaign.
I see a lot of people that hate on this game, from its oldest fanbase on /r/ratchetandclank and in a way I can kind of see why. The combat is pretty basic and unrefined in a lot of ways, a lot of it is just shooting through scenarios versus making a strategy and a game like Uncharted.
Then again this game isn't supposed to be Uncharted. It's a goofy over-the-top platformer from over a decade ago.
I guess if I had to give it a numerical rating, I'd give it a seven or eight out of 10.
What was your take on this one? I do enjoy the game, and I may actually try to collect everything in it which is not normal for me.
I only really purchased it so I can have something to play in between finishing my last game (Uncharted 4) and Uncharted the Lost Legacy.
I noticed that quite a few developers today are disabling game sharing in their games. Fortnite subbredit actually banned talking about the issue because it’s a “grey area”.
Frontier (Elite Dangerous) fixed the problem with sharing the DLC in a month.
As far as I know, most other MMOs don’t support it.
What do you think? I use game sharing in my college dorm, but it can be easily exploited.
I think that going against official Sony policy (as it is in the manual) and calling it a grey area is wrong. It hurts many people who are using it as it is intended to be used.
Buying digital is already problematic because you can’t trade it. The fact that my roommate and I both have to buy a copy is quite insane when a physical one could be obviously used by both of us.
Firstly, are there any good multiplayer games that accommodate up to 8 people? With 4 people per console. Preferably not brand new, as I'd have to buy two copies of them! My first thought is rocketleague, as my friend already owns it and it's quite good for party play. I already have the jackbox games which we will be playing!
If 4 v 4 isn't possible, are there any games up to 4 player you'd recommend for a party? On a single console.
The next question is - anywhere to rent controllers from? Me and my friend can get 4 in total, so we'd need more if we could find a suitable game for 4v4. I live in the UK and tried googling, but can only find controllers for sale or a whole console to rent.

Backstory, my little cousin got a ps4 a few years ago for x-mas. I was in charge of setting up his account and getting him online. I made a sub account for him and all was well. Until today. He's been playing Fallout 4 and really enjoys it. So we got him the Season Pass. He gets here we redeem the code all is well until he tries to download the content. It refuses to let him download the content. So I went to the Sub Account controls and found this option :
Content Restriction By default, PlayStation™Store hides age-inappropriate content. Select [Off] to disable this restriction. [Off] means your child can view PlayStation™Store content for any age.
Now I turn this option off, thus he should be able to see anything in the PlayStation store. However, it STILL does not show up for him to download. Sony support says that does not apply for purchasing titles, the act of redeeming IS purchasing, the email even SAYS THANKS FOR PURCHASING. The bigger problem? It let him USE the code and redeem it, thus making it worthless and can not use it on another account to download the content. Support was basically like there's nothing we can do. So now I'm stuck with a 50$ receipt from Gamestop and no DLC, an upset cousin, AND no ways to play it the content he saved up for. Any ideas on how to make this right??
My issue is with the refund policy, I was refused a refund on Infinite Warfare less than 24 hours after I bought it and they told me it was because in the past I pre ordered the 59.99 edition of MLB THE SHOW 16 then cancelled that pre order to upgrade to the Deluxe version which actually cost more money..this was the second time I've upgraded from a standard version to deluxe I've also done it with Madden 17 ..same exact deal cancelled my base 59.99 and upgraded to deluxe..yet when I want a refund for Infinite Warfare less than 24 hours later to spend on a game I actually like it's fuck you...xbox has a policy less than 2 hours played and you can get a refund..i also have an xb1 but this is a PS4 issue.

I find it odd that the game still hasn't been available for pre-order for weeks, if not months. I've never known a Madden game to actually sell out and run out of stock. What does it mean to stream the purchased application? I know what downloading it means, I just don't know what the other thing means and what it has to do with the refund.
I'm trying out a new set up where I have my PS4 connected to a Pioneer VSX-831 amplifier, and then to a projector. All connections are via HDMI. The video works flawlessly but there is a bit of a problem with the audio.
It appears that some parts of the audio are missing and do not make it out of the speakers. For example, when I play FIFA, the commentary is completely missing. When I play Bloodborne some of the attack sound effects sound way quieter than they should be, and there is no dialogue. The rest of the audio seems completely fine.
I've tried different devices with the same cables and ports and everything works fine. I've tried fiddling around with audio settings on the PS4 but to no avail.
I'm definitely a noob when it comes to audio, any advice is really appreciated!
Not only does the game run like crap but all that motion blur gives me a headache every time I move the camera. Seriously I just wish they gave us the option to lower the resolution so we can play the game at a stable framerate and let us turn off that shit motion blur. It's a shame because the game behind all these performance issues is actually quite good.
Edit: I realize that I didn't make the best title for this post but it's just so frustrating that this game is brought down because of its awful framerate and terrible motion blur. I played the first hour and the mechanics are fun but it's brought down because of all the performance issues.
Anyone else feel Sony really missed the boat on the custom controller market, specifically official colors etc. I think they only have 10 official colors or less vs. say the Xbox controllers which have created a crazy market.
My PS4 pro is having an issue where it'll sometimes shut off going into rest mode and won't turn back on. If I unplug and replug, it'll turn on, turn blue, beep once, then turn right back off. I have to leave it unplugged for a few minutes before I can get it to turn back on.
Tried taking it to Best Buy but of course by the time I get to Best Buy and they plug it in, the thing turns on and looks to be working perfectly. It's unpredictable how to get it to start displaying the issue, so basically I can't demo the problem to them.
Anyone have this issue and managed to fix it or get it? At this point, I'm going to gripe at PS4 support but I don't want to send it in and a week later get a call that nothing's wrong with it (it's happened before) and also be without one for 2-3 weeks).

I was about to buy AC Black Flag Standard Edition, just bought a 10$ Paysafecard on a gas station (I'm mostly working on the road) and just checked AC4 is at 30$. I mean, why? I have 3 ps4 controllers, one launch black one, one 1.5 year old red one, and a brand new gold one that came with my ps4 slim limited edition. All 3 of them completely stopped working (turning on or charging) last night. I tested on 4 different cables, 3 ps4 systems and a pc, along with a friends controller for a control. His controller worked as expected, but these three controllers are dead. Nothing was spilled on them, they worked the night before. Am I missing something? Did i get hit with an emp?

So I'm in a bit of a pickle atm and this would be easily solved if I had any friends that played PS4.
My PS4 controller is not working. I've tried resetting it countless times with the little reset button on the back, taken it apart to make sure everything is still okay and as far as I can tell it's okay. What it does is if plugged in it has an orange light until it gets to the welcome screen and the light shuts off. That's it. Nothing else happens.
I want to get into the console to disconnect all devices and try reconnecting them but can't do this as I can't get past the welcome screen without one.
I've tried using a keyboard but I can't even get past the welcome screen with that which is honestly ridiculous. Pause break is meant to be PS but you can only hold it?
Obviously I wanted to try using the app however that also needs me to get into the console first as far as I know.
Back to the controller again. Could it be a battery issue? I was thinking of replacing the battery with one from my PS3 controller temporarily just to see if I had a faulty battery but if that were the case it should still work when wired to the console right?

Just picked up at best buy. Turned it on, did brief system update, and began setting up a new user account and it shut off with no warning. Feels warm on top but not absurdly so.
Tried several more times over about 45 minutes, and it would stay on anywhere between 15 seconds and five minutes.
Unit was dead silent at all times. I've read other threads that say overheating triggers a warning before powering down, and it's been on for about 15 minutes total, so that seems unlikely but possible?
Plan is to return to Best Buy tomorrow and swap it, but wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking something obvious.

I went in totally blind (as I always do) & I could not have been happier. The story is awesome, the art is gorgeous & the gameplay is irresistably fun.

I recently bought my ps4 (note that it was a display model) and I let horizon dawn to be downloaded in night time. Is it normal for me to wake up in the morning with the gane installed and fans still runningn, and bottom of the ps4 still being hot?
I just downloaded a 6.7GB update to Path of Exile from Steam, a FREE platform, in less than 10 minutes at around 30MB/s.
I downloaded Battlefield 1 yesterday on my PS4 Pro to play with some friends and ended up not being able to play with them as it took 4 hours to get past 10GB and then still was not done so I went to sleep.
Can anyone explain this? I know others experience this I'm just pretty fkn tired of it.
I purchased 2 replacement HDDs, one for me and one for my brother. I set mine up fine, and I was going to setup and install all of his games but it dawned on me I have a pro and he has an og PS4.
The reason I wanted to do this for him is I have a gigabit internet connection whereas he doesn't.
Is there a way to fix the weird lag issues with the PS4 Twitch app? I can watch live streams on YouTube with no issue, but on the Twitch app it keeps resetting a few seconds back. So someone will say something and half their sentence will repeated. And it just keeps doing it making the entire app useless and unusable.
Now that Twitch is cracking down on their exclusivity claus some of my favourite streamers are moving to Twitch only. And I have no way to watch them. (I am unable to watch things at my computer due to health reasons I am not going to get into.) I know Twitch is a business but this really frustrates me. Sony needs to get their app shit together too.
So a lot of people recommended Hotline Miami and I decided to pick it up on sale. I love the atmosphere and the soundtrack but the game itself is pretty frustrating. I'm no stranger to difficulty in games but this seems like it's more cheapness and less difficulty. Am I wrong? Do you have any evidence? Can you just walk back into a level and beat it first try if you're "good" at it? To me it seems like maybe I get lucky sometimes and maybe I don't and I don't feel I have a lot of control over which.
It barely loads properly, every time I hover above "what's new" or "tv and video", the apps below don't even load up. Netflix or Amazon video don't work, and I can't access my profile as it keeps loading.
The irritating part is, this is barely a month old brand new ps4.
And I know it's not my wifi acting up, since I owned an Xbox one for years before this and it never pissed me off like this.
I'm on a ps4 pro and since the 4.73 update I've been having major issues with playing stuff online, and only playing stuff online. Connecting to the store is fine, web browser is fine, download speeds are fine. But I'm getting insane latency anytime I use psn to play any game, which is, incidentally, exactly like what happened with the update in March (I believe it was the 4.5 update).
Anyone else having these issues?
I'm a casual gamer at best and haven't owned a console since the original Xbox. I have played my PS4 quite a bit - finished GTA5, TLoU, all Uncharteds, Bioshock, Wolfenstein, Metro, Ratchet and Clank, etc, and have put hours into many other smaller games - but never considered myself a hardcore gamer. I skew to single-player games because I don't enjoy getting owned by people way better than me in online games. I play games for the pretty colours and design, mostly. I've never played any true RPGs but after hearing such unequivocal praise for this game I decided I had to try it.
I went into this game expecting a challenge, but I wasn't expecting...this. The game is menacing, isolating, oppressive. And the more you explore the more you realise how deep the rabbit hole goes. As a first-time Soulsborne player I've never seen a game world quite like it. Some nights I play for hours and don't unlock any new areas or discover any new bosses at all. Literally zero progress. But I keep going.
With Bloodborne, I feel like I am alone taking on a massive quest, plunging into darkness, knowing that every step forwards will require another ten to dig myself back out.
My point is that I've played for nearly twenty hours and have still only slain three bosses. I know there is still so much further to go and the sheer scope of the undertaking is daunting. I don't even know when or if I will actually finish it. Despite the game's massive fanbase and co-op component, I feel alone and vulnerable when I play it. I feel like to play this game is to abandon yourself to it's world completely, and no other game has ever made me feel like that, with the exception of The Witness last year (although in a completely different way).
Did other first-time players experience the same things as me? Was the game too punishing, too isolating, too deep and complicated, too relentless? Did you feel consumed by this game, like even when you're at work or school or with friends, it's still lingering in the back of your mind?

I recently got this game and I was about an hour in and wondered why I hadn't got any trophies, so checked and couldn't see the game in the trophies section so I help in the PS button and went on the game then trophies and all it says is "There are no trophies." Help????!

It used to work fine and shut off with games open and resume exactly where it left off when it woke up from rest mode. Loved it. I've had to factory reset mine and not sure why it's not shutting off.
Do certain games when left open, ignore the auto shut off? I happen to be playing Wolfenstein New Order atm.

I installed the system software 4.73 update but now none of my games will work. It says that the file is corrupt or it will start a game, in this case Rocket League, and stay at the opening screen then goes to an error screen. Any ideas why or a fix?

Seemingly every minute I get a frame rate hitch that jumps my character forward as if the frames happened and I just missed them. It's very disorienting and makes it frustrating to make easy jumps. Is there a patch in the works or is it just me?
I bought these headphones recently and wanted to use them to play as well as listen to music. However, when I plug them (they are bluetooth but also came with double sided male cords) I can hear everything but it's as if no Mic is detected. The mic works fine I tested it before. I couldn't find any answer online so I'm wondering if anyone else experiences this problem.
I'm transferring from a 500GB PS4 hard drive to a 2TB, and I'm trying to salvage P.T. in the process. I found that you don't get the option to back up specific applications - it's all or nothing. Since I'm working with a 32GB flash drive, I had to delete all my other installed applications.
Now I'm down to about 7GB of files on the PS4 (screenshots, a bunch of save data, and P.T.). At least, it's 7GB when I look at the System Storage tab. But then when I go to the Backup and Restore option, it's suddenly 34GB, and I have no idea where this extra 27GB of applications came from.
Is this a thing that's supposed to happen (are these like... vital system files?), or is something going wrong?
Simply put, I can't get into the store at all. When I click on the icon, the "Please wait" loading screen pops up for about two seconds, then it kicks me back to the dashboard. I've already tried restarting my console. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
So ps plus prices are rising at the end of August so I have heard and there's a big software update coming in closed beta soon. Could this mean they are adding something else to ps plus? Could ps now be free or somewhat free? Better monthly games? Why do you think the prices are increasing and could it be something to do with the next software update?

Live in the same house as 6 others, we're all on the same wifi network, they keep switching youtube videos and I don't know how to stop them.
I'm logged in on MY youtube account on MY ps4 with MY playstation account, yet they are controlling MY youtube app from THEIR PHONES on THEIR accounts and there doesn't seem to be a way to stop them, they don't have to input a password or anything, as long as we're on the same wifi they can cast whatever the hell they want onto my playstations youtube app, who the fuck thought this would be a good idea?

Atleast on spotify you have to be logged onto the same account on your phone and playstation to switch music, but they are literally switching videos from THEIR youtube accounts on MY youtube account with nothing to prevent them from doing so, no password or anything required, wtf?

There's quite a bit out there about motion sickness caused by video games, particularly first-person shooters, but I was wondering if anyone else had problems playing old or remastered games and getting motion sickness.
I play a lot of FPSs and never feel sick, but when Rogue Galaxy was remastered for PS4, I bought it but had to stop playing because of how ill it made me feel.
Fast forward to yesterday when I bought FFXII The Zodiac Age, and sure enough, that gives me the same feeling. Only these two games, and these are the only two old/remastered games I own for the PS4.
This will start as soon as I boot up the game, which is strange. The opening menu appears and I start to feel off: back of my neck tenses, skin gets clammy, nausea starts.
I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed this and successfully dealt with it. I really want to keep playing FFXII, but it's tough to feel this way and enjoy what I'm doing.
I wanted to see if anyone knows of PS4 or PS Pro bundles that come with less generic games. I.E. Not COD, Uncharted, Destiny, or anything big franchise.
Ideally, Persona 5, Horizon Zero Dawn, Bloodborne, or basically any game that would be a reason to buy a PS4, rather than just another title on the PS4.
I really need help cause I'm at my wits end. About 2(?) years ago my controller started to disconnect at random from my PS4, and would not reconnect even with the cable until the console was restarted. I tried literally everything. Resetting the controller, playing with it plugged in, cleaning dust out of the console, nothing worked. This was annoying but I didn't have the money to get a new controller or anything, I just dealt with it. A few months later I realized that it would only happen when the console was connected to the WiFi. So, I simply just turned it off as I don't play online games anyway. I didn't actually solve anything, just tried to ignore it. When the wifi was off, the controller didn't shut down. A couple weeks ago I got a brand new controller, and after a bit I decided to test it and see if the problem was really the old controller. I turn on the wifi on the console and the controller shuts off, refusing to turn back on. This has gotten extremely frequent, to the point where I have to download system updates in 5 minute chunks cause every five minutes the controller will turn off and the console will stop downloading and nothing works until I restart the whole thing. Sometimes I'll turn on the console and the controller will disconnect before I can even select a profile. But this only happens when the WiFi is on! Does anyone have any advice? Is it something with my wifi or is something in the console broken? Any advice you can give would be a huge help.
I bought a PS4 back on Playstation Day when it was 200 euro, mainly to play through exclusives, now that the exclusives are finished and the PS4 is gathering dust, I would like to sell it on.
I have checked CEX and they are giving 159 Euro Cash or 197 Voucher. Still waiting on a reply from a buddy who works in GameStop for there trade in prices.

TL;DR Controller drift was a wifi interference issue. Re-did my wireless network, and set up PS4 internet connection with LAN (ethernet cable) instead of wifi. This fixed the issue!
Thought I'd share my experience because it was a nightmare of troubleshooting to try to get this to work!
Apparently when we upgraded the firmware of my Apple Airport Extreme, things started to get wonky. When moving forward, and not touching the right stick, the character would randomly start leaning to the left. So often that Call of Duty was unplayable. Both controllers had the same issue, across multiple games.
I googled "controller drift" but all I got was people blowing dust-off into it or telling me to just buy new controllers. One of the IT guys actually told me to delete everything off my PS4 and do a fresh install and pray that might fix it. Another guy asked me to ship it to Sony because they thought it might be an issue with the bluetooth hardware itself. Fuck that! So I kept digging.
Some people said it could be a wifi or bluetooth interference issue, which is turns out it was! I set up my wireless network again from scratch (not sure if this step is needed), and this time I used a 5Ghz network for our phones and laptops. (I should note that just switching the wireless network to 5Ghz, and leaving the PS4 on regular wifi did NOT fix the issue!)
Then I went to PS4 Settings > Network > Set Up Internet Connection > Use a LAN cable.
At first it would not find an IP address. I found out that this was because I have my router going into an ethernet switch, then splitting into other devices. So instead I re-routed the cables so it goes Modem > Switch > Wireless Router > PS4. The router has ethernet mults out so I went from the router into the PS4, and only in this configuration would the PS4 find a unique IP address and I was able to set up with a LAN cable instead of wifi. This killed the interference and now everything works perfectly!
Thought I'd share this because it's been weeks of randomly trying to tackle the issue, and almost no info about it out there.
I can't resume any shows where I left off, they always start at the beginning no matter what. Also, half of the thumbnails don't appear.
Tried re-installing the app and deleting the saved online/local data with no luck. This has been going on for a couple weeks now.

Die, reload, die loops in the Story mode.
Tons of crashing as well.

I've never played Skyrim, and was thinking on getting it on PS4 Pro with the enhanced visuals and resolution. But with a switch version incoming, I don't know if it would better to trade that in for portability (not as pretty, or stable frame rate, but portable). I'm having issues buying stuff from the PS-Store at the moment (using PayPal). This is the first time I'm having this issue so I figured I'll try a prepaid card from amazon. Bought one, redeemed it in the PS Store (with a success message) but got no email confirmation and my wallet funds still say 0€ (with last top up date being a week ago). The code is now invalid/already used. That was 30 minutes ago. I've used quite a few prepaid cards already and it was always an instant process.
Is there any solution to this other than waiting until monday to call Sony support?

So I bought gravity rush remastered for Ps4 on the PSN store. Download install play no problem. Then I got to a point where it says it still needs to download next episode. its just a black screen with some text and a time estimate.
It says it needs 99'XX"00 which I guess is 99 hours. the XX jumps widely between 10 and 57.
I tried having it download all afternoon, no change. I restarted and reloaded a save. had to redo a bossfight and got stuck at the same point, showing same screen, same estimate. I can't confirm that my ps4 is downloading anything.
The exact point in the game is after Defeating "Alias" a boss, after which theres a cutscene where Kat talks to Syd and suddenly the download screen appears.
Why is the game not completely downloaded? it had all the time?
Edit: Actually the estimate has gone down from 99 to 80 hours. will watch. but this is still pretty effed up. why does it download while playing instead of doing the whole thing from the start?

Is it possible to buy a game on an account and then play the game on another account on the same console? I assume you can that, as far as I've read however, I have just another question. Lets say you get really far in that specific game on account #2, and the console gets destroyed somehow. You then download account #2 on another PS4 and buy that specific game on account #2, would you lose all your progress then?

I need some assistance here. I have been playing PES2017 shared play with a friend who does not have the game. All is great, but we need to play with another friend who has the game. Can we do it together? It says shared play cannot include more than 2, but what I imagine is two people using the shared play feature and the 3rd ( who has the game) will be in the party but not part of the shared play. I do not know if it is clear enough. Is this possible?

Was playing Bioshock Infinite the other night and stopped to watch an npc that was directing a crane operator loading or unloading cargo (couldn't tell which) and was completely taken out of the moment by how simple his animation loop was. Looking around the game now all I can hear is "It's a small world after all..." playing in my head. Are there any good games out there that don't have idle npc's performing the same 5-10 second loop forever?

So as the title says i'm not sure about this new season of TellTale's Batman. With that said I do own Season 1, and thus my question. Is it worth my time? Just a little info i bought it when it was on sale, and i buy a LOT of games even if it just somewhat piques my interest, especially if it is on sale. So cuz of my "addiction" to buying games I have a rather large backlog which is why i ask is it worth the time?

I'm away on holiday, and I learned that someone was using my account. It started with small changes like competitive games on Overwatch were played (that was the disc I left inserted.) by then, I was already suspicious but the 2 days after I learned that, the "hacker" messaged and added someone. I confronted "the hacker" but I didn't get an answer except for "bye im leaving now" and "im just joking" (whenever I tried to confront the people he messaged and added) I don't know what to do next. My account is secured by two-step and my PS4 is unplugged with my family. I did not log in anywhere except for remote play on my PC (that is also with my family)

Was close to buying Just Cause 3 about a month ago and decided to place my money on Dying Light instead. How glad am I after this month's free PS plus games!
I can't understand how the game got pushed through in, what I'm guessing was a worse state than it is in now, after multiple patches. I was so excited to give Just Cause a chance and the frame rate drops are so awful. I'm not bothered about the lack of story, but the performance and the action was what originally brought Just Cause 2 into our hearts. I am not a 60 fps hard on kind of guy, but staggering game play (which only happens when blowing stuff up... incidentally the selling point of the game) is so unacceptable.
Will we ever see a decent game? Is there any patches on the doors? Or, is this it, a game with such potential but fell down to what I'm assuming was a lack of play testing and a forced time frame.
Hi guys, ive been having some issues with the voice recording etc. On GTA everyones voice records except one friend and it also wont pick up randoms in the lobby talking which has wrecked some pretty funny encounters. My friend has all the settings to allow his voice shared and so do i but for some reason I cant hear him in mine and he cant pick me up in his either even though i know i have everything checked off to allow my voice shared. Then when I play killing floor 2 all the friends voices who recorded no problem on GTA dont show up, actually no one is captured except my voice. What is going on and how do i fix it so it records everything that Im hearing like normal youtubers have? Did it go downhill after the Ezio trilogy like a lot of people say? For me it certainly did. Apart from Black Flag all games since then have been lacking one way or the other imho.
I know I'm late to this, but after my experience last night I cannot believe that this "scam" is not discussed more and more heat has not been put on Ubisoft. I hope that I am at least missing some small detail but what Ubisoft is doing seems 100% like a scam and pissed me off to high hell last night.
For anyone confused, there are two versions of Monopoly that you can purchase from the PS Store. The first one is Monopoly Plus which is just the base game. The second is the Monopoly Family Fun pack which INCLUDES MONOPOLY PLUS as well as some other features, dlc, and a Monopoly themed card game. The catch here is that even though they both include the same exact game, they cannot cross play with one another. This would be similar to your friend buying the deluxe version of CoD while you buy the base version and not being able to play online together.
I've read through the descriptions of both games multiple times and nowhere do I see it mentioned that these two games are not compatible with one another. If I missed that note somewhere, someone please point it out. That aside, even if I did miss that note, how are more people not complaining about this? Thank god the game is cheap or I'd be even more annoyed. I just can't even begin to comprehend that someone thought this was a good idea and that the community has not laid into Ubisoft for it.
So I have a monitor in my room, and a TV elsewhere.
I decided to plug it up to the TV for a bit and it worked fine -- however it just gives me a blank screen when I go back to the monitor. When I plug it into the TV again it works.
It's not an HDMI port being bad I think -- I use the port on my PC for my computer and it is still working fine.
I suspect it has something to do with the size differences. They are the same resolution but the TV is larger.

Couple years ago a gameplay demo/trailer was released about a first person survival horror game called Agony. The premise was you're a lost soul trapped in hell and you're trying to GTFO. Google says the release date was June 2017 with no mentions of delays but here we are in august and it's been media silence for quite awhile. Does anyone know what happened to it?

Ui on my ps4 pro is really slow since last night, like where I will go to my friends list and it never loads even when I'm not in the game, and if i try to invite someone to a party it times out almost every time, every menu takes really long time to load, any suggestions as to what might be causing this?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but, its my brothers ps4 and he was having problems connecting via vga to hdmi.
So i assumed i had to change a setting on the ps4 for it to work, plugged it into my hdmi monitor and changed the setting "enable hdmi device link" to be on and its not showing up on the display at all anymore.
I tried booting safe mode and pressing down on the down on the d-pad 3 times to "restore default settings" and i also tried "change resolution" but nothing works, it doesnt appear on the sceen at all, ive confirmed the hdmi cable works and its getting power, please help, thanks.
i dont have access to another display with hdmi either, though this one works completely fine as im using it to write this message and i've also checked if the hdmi port is bent, it looks fine.

It's summer, air gets hotter and so does the PS4. It's currently on the ground (it used to be on a open-ish space before) and I was thinking if it should stay there or not. What made me think otherwise is dust. Should I try to place it higher up?

Earlier this morning around 3:30am Central, I attempted to preorder Destiny 2. After verifying my credit card info (which worked just yesterday for PS+) and hitting the Pre-Order button, it did it's loading thing then popped an error which I cannot remember because that was a first I had a problem with it, then i closed that window and it tried again and popped a different error about the store being unavailable or something.
It then displayed the same screen with the preorder button. I attempted to close the tab and reopen to which it didn't load the store, checked my bank and there was the $129.99 charge to Playstation. Loaded up the store on my phone and it doesn't show it in the purchase history and the game still shows that I can buy it in the store itself (normally it would show that it was purchased).
I'll be contacting support as soon as it's open but I just wanted to check and see if anyone else has had this problem and if it's easy for Sony to see that this charge was processed without it showing in my purchase history.

I have just bought a Playstation Dualshock 4 Charging Station and I'm having some problems with it. Both docks work fine with my original dualshock 4 that came with the PS4, but I also own a newer dualshock 4 (the one with the light strip on the touchpad) which won't charge with either dock. The original will flash yellow constantly as a sign of charging, but the other will flash yellow once then turn off. Can anyone help?

I've been trying to log in for hours now and I still can't log in.. their site says everything is working but it still won't let me log in.
What happens if you connect multiple headsets (all with mic) when you stream? Does the mic sound come from both headphones or only one?
I've gone onto the "adjust mic level" and can see my voice cant be heard. The only time I can see that it looks like its inputting a sound is when I click the volume or play button on my mic (the sound level spikes, but only from the button press, not the sound of it). Has anyone any idea how to fix?
On PS3, downloading a game would require double the space because you're basically downloading an installer. Is this the same case on PS4? Also, does every physical disc need to be installed on the HDD before you can play the game?
I think it was released in the last two weeks because there was a launch / gameplay trailer posted here. It's a third person game all about traversing these floating puzzle platform sort of levels where the main mechanic seems to be wall running and jumping. I have FIFA 17 bought on Account 1, but I've made Account 2 to prepare for FIFA 18 (I just change my account name every year).
It's still a month away, so I'm using PS+ from A1 to play online on A2. I don't need A1, so if I delete it, will FIFA 17 also be deleted? If not, could I buy PS+ on A2 and play FIFA 17 online?

Hello All. I remember when I was much younger and computers were new and exciting things. Back then, there was a popular theory that using computer screensavers would slow down the computer or lessen the lifespan of the machine. Since then, I've never used screensavers on any computer I've ever owned.
Now with the PS4, I'm not much for themes, but I like the ones that come standard. However, these are kind of similar to screensavers. So at the moment, I am using a static screenshot from a game as my home screen.
I'm interested to know whether anyone knows if the dynamic themes affect game or system performance or lessen the lifespan of the console. When I used to use the default dynamic theme, I would always feel like the console had to use processing power to render the theme in the background while a game was running.
Am I on the right train of thought?
So I went to install Ghost Recon Wildlands, and it failed. It shouldn't have since I just cleared out a couple of games that I've finished with left me with around 70GB free space. But when I checked the storage space, I only had like 30GB free. Also, my total amount of usable storage has dropped from 405GB to 363.1GB for no visible reason. Anyone have an idea as to why?
Tl;dr: tried to install a game, only to find out my usable storage space has randomly decreased.

I have a relatively outdated Samsung monitor, I believe a SyncMaster. It has no HDMI port, although it does DVI, which I got an adapter for (the hdmi inserts into a DVI plug). This only results in a blank screen.
Does anyone know what I could do to fix this? I disabled hdcp even though I'm pretty sure the monitor is hdcp-compliant. I've also turned down the resolution and tried booting in safe mode.
The PS4 does work on a TV, though.

I just found an active subscription titled "PS Now Subs for SCEE" in my German PlayStation account. It's running from today, August 3rd, to August 21st. I've registered for the PS Now beta, but haven't gotten any mails from Sony yet and I do not know how I'd be able to use that subscription atm. Has anyone any news about this? Can someone confirm active PS Now subscriptions in SCEE areas (obviously not UK etc) or Germany?

So I've been trying to sync my controller to the ps4 for the past hour. I tried plugging in the usb cable, no go. I tried resetting the controller via the little pin hole, no go. I tried restarting and unplugging and plugging the cables in all kinds of different combinations, no go (although perhaps there's a particular magical combination that works that I missed...)
So I tried the big reset button. I tried booting up in safe mode (where the controller DOES WORK @#()@!) and tried re-initializing the system by downloading the system update on a USB drive. HOWEVER, it doesn't seem to recognize that the drive is connected! What the hell! I tried using a exFAT drive as well as a FAT32 drive. No go...
Any help is appreciated!

Also, Is swapping my saved data and game data to an SSD hard? I have never done anything with computers or electronic component parts like this before.
We can all agree that FH3 is one of the best racing games out there right now. In terms of cars, graphics and overall gameplay its probably the best one. Are there any alternatives? All I can find are racing sims, no open world type stuff.
As the title says.. haven't owned a console since the 360. I like all types of games from rpg to fps to adventure and everything in between. Gonna buy one or two games. But I have no internet connection (except bringing it to my bros for updates and such).

It might be a stupid question, but I'm one to be paranoid about things like this. My PS4 is the original version, just got it a couple days ago. I noticed after about an hour or so of play time it tends to get really hot, mostly the right side of the light on the top. However the sides, especially where the ventilation is, remains nice and cool. The heat on top is what worries me, because the last thing I want is for this thing to fry or something. TLDR, is it normal that the PS4 gets hot on the top?
I picked up a copy of the game during a sale and man, I really had a blast!
Gameplay-wise, I thought it was the perfect sit-back-and-relax type of game! Nothing too hard, but the mechanics were fun to play around with and the puzzles were imaginative. Doing all the drawing was fun to mess around with too!
Story-wise it wasn't anything too deep, but I thought it was cute and it kept me interested while I was playing.
For me, this was the perfect game to play after I enjoyed the hell out of Ratchet and Clank. While there's definitely differences between the two, it was a great 3D adventure.
So what do you guys think of the game? Are there any other 3D Platformers for the PS4 we should be checking out too?

Will there be an open beta? On the official site it has a August 25-28 date and then a September 1-4 date but I don’t see anything about it being open and not preorder only.
As someone who has stayed away from cod for 4-5 years now, i can not preorder into the series without being able to test it out and see if it is something I would enjoy. If the beta will be preorder only, it’s obviously a title I will not purchase, but I’m sure they’re not going to care about one sale.

So, about a week ago I made a post regarding proof that Part II could take place in Seattle, Washington, which to my surprise apparently got a lot of attention outside of the sub - Here's my original post.
Thanks to a few other clever Redditors, I was able to gather convincing proof that Seattle could be a potential location for Part II.
Here's a short summary of my old post just to give you some context:
Today, I received a quite interesting PM from fellow redditor, u/roganjosho, who shared another incredible piece of information regarding this official Part II concept art, that makes it even more convincing that Part II will indeed take place in Seattle, Washington.
The Redditor discovered that the parking building in the background is in fact a real parking garage, located on 1st Ave. in Seattle, Washington.
Naturally, I went straight to Google Maps to see for myself, and sure enough, there it was!

I updated to 4.73 yesterday and my system is running horribly. The main screen is very sluggish. Even pressing options on a game will not display the menu for a solid 20 seconds. Playback on Netflix is very stuttery. It almost feels like my system is running out of RAM. Is this a common issue or am I just unlucky? How can I troubleshoot/remedy this issue? Thanks!
Man I am tried of waiting for next Elder scrolls game. TESO isn't doing it for me. Very limited and grindy.
I know we look down on clones of certain hit games like GTA and WoW, but man these Elder Scrolls gap in release are killer. Last Elder Scrolls Bethesda game was Skyrim which came out 11/11/11.
Doing a quick Google search for games similar to Elder Scrolls on PS4 gives you a bunch of crap that's nothing like Elder Scrolls. Why is Dark Souls 3 on the list? Come on. Hey I don't even mind some Indie clones at this point. I rather Bethesda not rush for sake of quality, but would love some clones of the Elder Scrolls subgenre...just saying.
