System Software Update won't go through

My PS4 won't start and it says I need to connect a USB with the 4.73 update. My PS4 worked fine yesterday and I'm pretty sure I downloaded this update when it came out. I have followed all instructions regarding how to fix it, getting the USB, putting it into the correct folders, making sure its the 700-900 mb download, that the USB should be formatted into FAT32/exFAT.

I go into safe mode and initialize the reinstall with system software update and it goes through the whole process but once it stops downloading and preparing the update the PS4 turns off and goes back into the orignal screen saying I can't start the PS4 without a system update. If anyone has any insight or anyway to help I'd really like to use my PS4 again sometime soon.

Sidenote: I've also used two different USB's to try and fix the issue but no dice.

This game is the kind that convinces me that this medium can truly be art -- anyone that considers themselves just a fan of fantastic video games, genre aside, needs to try this game. It's far deeper and more complex than any of the promotion (or even early hours) implies, and I haven't been more invested in a story and a group of characters possibly this whole generation. I just can't stress enough, anyone that considers themselves a sort of "connoisseur" of games (you don't just like 1 genre, but the parallel to a movie buff or something), needs to see this for themselves. The hand drawn art is gorgeous, the soundtrack is jammin, the characters are diverse, rounded, complex depictions of people, and the overall story will lead you to some real pondering of some of the complexities of actual life, and the choices you'll have to make will feel as real as some of your hardest decisions.

PS4 Remote Play is only over internet?

I have my PS4 connected to the internet with Wi-Fi and my iMac also connected to the internet via Wi-Fi in the same home. When I use PS4 Remote Play on my iMac it's almost unplayable with how much it lags.

I've been Googling around and there's some mention of forcing PS4 Remote Play to use LAN instead of internet to connect but I can't figure out how to force it to use LAN.

When I start, PS4 Remote Play says "Searching via internet" but I read somewhere that it's supposed to do that 2nd with a LAN check being first.

Anyone know anything more about this?

Can't make it past "Preparing to download"

Hey guys, hopefully there is an easy fix to this issue. I just went to download Overwatch newest update (2.16) and even after restarting my ps4 and turning it off for a few minutes and back on, as well as canceling and restarting the update, it just goes to "Preparing to download" hits 3%, and then fails over and over again. My internet is working fine, I tested the connection and I have 40 gigs free in space. Any troubleshooting help is much appreciated

Won't take my debit cards or pre payed cards

So I'm trying to buy 3 games and when I set my master card up with psn it said it wouldn't take it I tried all the different variations of typing it in. Well that didn't work so I got a visa gift card and activated it but psn still won't accept it I've read off of forums that my account can be locked from to many attempts and that I can't have more than 150 in my wallet can I get a solid answer on why it won't take my cards? Thank you it's just that this is frustrating me

Fake email about psn use phishing scam shows psn ID

I recently got a fake email asking me to take a survey because I hadn't signed into psn for some time. It came from a suspicious email address and was obviously fake because I use psn pretty frequently, so I deleted it but what was weird was that the email supplied my psn ID.

Is there a way for people to get your email from your psn ID or vice versa? Most of these types of scams tend to have generic content so I was wondering if I should change my email or something. Or is this common for psn phishing scams?

NBA Live Vs NBA 2k.. If you want a fun basketball game, go NBA live. If you want a realistic but less fun basketball game, go 2k.

In my opinion, I have always been a NBA live fan. NBA 2k is just waaay too hard, I feel that 2k tries more to be realistic and as a result they sacrifice fun factor whereas NBA Live to me has always been the perfect sweet spot of fun and realistic.

NBA 2k are for pure basketball fanatics in my opinion, people that know all the Xs and Os and ins and outs of the game.

NBA Live on the other hand caters to the more casual NBA fan that watches and enjoys the NBA and knows quite a bit about it, but isnt a genius.

Hello, I recently ordered the Razer Kraken 7.1 V2 headset for the PS4, but there are a few questions I have regarding the headset which I just can't seem to find online through Google or Youtube videos. If you have this headset or know any information I would greatly appreciate your response to these questions.

1. Does this headset come with 7.1 surround sound directly out of the box? Meaning when I plug in the USB of the headset into the PS4, the 7.1 surround sound is already present and not stereo sound?

2. Will the changes made to the headset through the downloadable Kraken software on PC (Meaning the headset is USB connected to the PC) be saved into the headset when plugged into the PS4 afterwards? Examples include the headset light patterns, sound settings, mic settings, etc.

Gaming Lag Spike

So recently I started using my phones hot spot for gaming. ( I know a lot of people hate people that play on hot spot but thats the only internet I can get that doesn't have 600 ping) so anyways I've been playing on it but for some reason I keep getting lag spikes but my download speed are 9mbps upload is 10mbps and ping is between 60 and 80. Any idea why I keep getting lag spikes.

LAN cable not connecting to PS4

Hello first off I bought a cat6 cable and got home to see that my port says cat5e. Don't know if that's the problem. I've tried restarting my router twice and each time my PS4 says connect LAN cable when I already have it plugged in. Any help is much appreciated.

Netflix on my PS4 absolutely refuses to stream at any acceptable bitrate.

I've got a PS4 Pro and an LG 49UB8200. Whenever watching stuff, I can click R3 and every show will max out at 420-530 Kbps video bitrates, which is just plain terrible. This has been happening for quite a while, and I'm really at a loss because:

A) The PS4 Pro is hardwired to my network, which is comprised of gigabit fiber service, a Ubiquiti EdgeRouter X, and a Neatgear ProSafe GS108E. Every other device on the network has no issues with connectivity or Netflix playback.

B) I've already reset the Netflix app, then deleted/re-downloaded several times with a PS4 reboot in between.

C) Other services on the PS4 such as Hulu and HBONow has zero issues.

D) Changing the playback settings between auto/high in my Netflix account settings on the web has no bearing on the issue.

What gives? Is this some common issue that has a non-obvious solution on the PS4? Any advice of what to try?

The option to disable the "controller is disconnected" notification is a must. Insanely annoying when watching something.

Trouble with controller disconnecting

After a short amount of time playing, the controller will completely turn off, I can't reconnect either. The only way to get it working again is to shut off the PS4 and turn it back on. Pressing the reset button in the controller doesn't work and it happens to both controllers. I only have this issue online but offline works perfectly.

So the more I see of the game, the more I like. It looks a LOT like overwatch meets crackdown and I am on board. I was debating if I want to get it physically but It would be so much easier to get t digitally. So I have a few questions:

A "different" kind of wi-fi connectivity issue...

hey so the router I'm looking for isn't showing up on my PS4 when trying to connect to Wi-fi. My Phone and PC found it, but I had to scroll down the list a bit (my first time in a crowded apt building). The PS4 list of available connections doesn't list my router...does anyone have a work around for this. My PC and Phone list 20 connections but my PS only lists 8

Before I even get started here, I want to admit I don't know the first thing about coding, developing, or creating video games. I do love to play them though so I'm doing something right, right?

Anyway, I have what I believe to be a really good idea for a game. It would be a more simple game than a robust AAA title - an indie. I can speak to every little detail of the game and walk a programmer/developer through the creation and have the funds to pay for it all.

As the title says I just tried my hand at SHAREfactory of ignoring it since I got the PS4 and it's awesome! Though how do I put my own music into it? Like I have a USB stick with a folder called SHAREfactory than Music than my music but it says it's corrupted and refuses to use it...

Also, in a clip can I speed up cetain sections of the video and have it slow down again for other sections? Like in one clip?

Hey all, I have recently hit a gaming lull...I jump into a game, play it for an hour then get bored and hop to something else or just sit at the dashboard going back and forth trying to decide what to play. My account has been hacked and my father's identity stolen, and I have been banned. Please help.

About a month ago my father's credit card has been charged over $800 in microtransactions for multiple games. My dad came back home one day and told me he had resolved it with the bank, but he had never told me what was spent with the money. A month goes by and now my account has been banned until I pay back the "debt" in psn money. The thing that boggles my mind is the fact that I have never used my dad's credit card on my ps4 and neither do I have any credit cards linked to my payment options. I solely use psn gift cards to buy my games in the psn store. The things that were bought are not even in my account. One of the things that were bought were 100 loot crates for Overwatch, I can't see these loot crates meaning that they were not bought for my account, but they were used to be purchased using my account information. Other things were bought using my account, but I can't access them at all. I tried talking to an agent, but he said he can't do anything about it because since it had happened a long time ago it's too late and just said to pay back the money. But not once was I ever informed that my account was to be banned for these purchases. I got the emails of the online purchases, but (yes, this was a grave mistake) I barely check my email. I just want to see if there is any way I can get my account back, this is really stressing me out because i don't know how or who got my dad's credit card info AND my psn info as well.

Do I need to activate my new PS4?

My old PS4 is bricked, and not under warranty. I got a new PS4, but it said I couldn't activate it without deactivating the old one. I have to deactivate the old one remotely though, and doing so would also mean i need to deactivate my in use PS3 as it only says 'deactivate all'.

I'm the only person in my household who uses the PS3/4 and the only one who uses my psn account. Do i really need to activate the new PS4, and, would deactivating my PS3 do anything untoward or bad? I don't really get what this whole (de)activating malarky does.

only MY account freezes the PS4

My PS4 freezes a few times everytime I log onto my account. It takes a few minutes for it to unfreeze and tells me an error has occured, then it freezes again once it restarts hits the menu. Repeat a few times and I am able to use the PS4 again, but it would take an upward of ten minutes. The system doesn't freeze when I unhook my ethernet and turn off my wifi. I have signed in with my wife's account and she doesnt have any problem with the same machine whatsoever. The only difference between mine and her account is that I subscribed to PS plus.

Has anyone else encounter this problem? Are there any fixes?

Just got my first PS4 Today!

It's a Slim, 1TB model. I could of spent a bit more on the Pro but I'm satisfied with what I bought. I also got 5 games:

• Bloodborne
• DOOM
• MK XL
• The Witcher 3
• No Man's Sky (Got this because it was a decent price, plus the upcoming patch sounds enticing)

Who's switching to NBA Live '18 this year?

Just curious to see the subs general consensus here. I am sure it is going to wind up that the majority here cannot fathom switching away from NBA 2K because gameplay-wise it does seem to be the better of the two.

I am making the switch this year and I think everyone should consider it despite the less polished gameplay. Here's why:

• Preorder bonus - You can snag this game for $39.99 (33% off) if you preorder. Yes, some will argue its because the game sucks, but EA is trying to break into the basketball market and this will certainly help get their game in people's hands. I also think for $20 off, this game can now compete with 2K for $60.
• Create a character stats - The way 2k has messed with the stats for players has really bugged me the last few years. They had made it almost impossible to create a Dirk type stretch 4 or a true all-around player like Lebron at the SF position. NBA Live has a much cooler stat and upgrade system that allows you to totally tailor your players skillset to your playstyle and the type of player you want them to be.
• Way better play with created character online mode - 2K's online mode for created characters is just a mess. The park is where most people play and its lame street ball with 2v2 or 3v3. I tried playing the 5v5 game mode and almost never got it to work. NBA Live has the street stuff, the 5v5 (and it works), and it also has daily and weekly challenges you can compete cooperatively with your friends on.
• Competition - This one matters most. 2K has effectively had a monopoly on basketball games for years now. They have been essentially releasing $60 roster updates year after year not fixing issues or really adding anything new of substance. Force them to get better. Take your money over to NBA Live to force the healthy competition - both games will benefit from it.

Yes, the gameplay isn't as polished, but NBA Live does do some things better than 2K does with their basketball game. I am willing to buy this game (for $20 less than 2K) to support an alternate option and hope for improvements due to the increased competition.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents. I'm very interested in hearing yours!

I re-bought a ps3 and want to try more jrpgs after Persona 5, FFXII and DQ11.

The first three games I bought are Tales of Vesperia, Demon's Souls and Dark Souls, which I have all played in the past and want to platinum them this time.

I care about replay value, strategic gameplay, good dungeon design, a walkable overworld. Don't care if random encounters or not.

Have tried Ni no Kuni twice, but just can't get past the tedious first five hours.

Question about the chapted "Hunted" in Beyond Two Souls

I just replayed this chapter like four times to see all the different possibilities, but there's still one I haven't gotten yet. At the end of the chapter there's an unplayed path under "Wreaked havoc in the town". I thought this meant you had to crash the helicopter without burning the gas station or damaging other buildings, but I still didn't get it. Does anyone know what you have to do to get that?

First of all, I love city builders. Grew up playing Simcity and for a long time I really missed a game like simcity. Untill I got Cities XL and Cities: Skylines on the pc. I am sceptic about the performance of such a game on the ps4, will it run at a constant 30fps? Can I build my Cities with no limits without getting lag and will the game be an exact port? Furthermore will it support some kind of mods?

Controllers having intermittent connection problems

From what I've read there seems to be common Bluetooth/antenna problems with the ps4. I'm trying to figure out what's causing my interference. I had a pre-owned ps4 that had several problems, one being the controller connection issue. It will go out for 1, 2 or 3 seconds and auto connect back several times during game play. Luckily I had a warranty so I returned it. Now the ps4 I got for replacement does the same thing. So either I got terribly unlucky or something is interfering. I have an Xbox one that's about 8 inches above the ps4. It is running on hardwire Ethernet. But would it still cause the interference? It's near a bluray player that doesn't have WiFi capabilities. There's some interesting new details in there:

• 'The beta did not contain the final implementation of how Energy weapons work against AI combatants with elemental shields; when the shield is depleted, it explodes, nuking any enemies that happen to be nearby'
• Nightfall strikes now have a time limit (varying by Strike; one example was 13 minutes) so efficiency and settling on a strategy beforehand will be important
• There are over 80 missions and (PVE) activities, and each is substantial in length, challenge, story and reward
• There's so much new content that at one point in development they realised they had more content than progression (something they've subsequently fixed)

There were apparently a few other things revealed to the Edge team visiting Bungie but that they were asked not to reveal; one involves the Hunter class and left the reviewers happy that the class will shape up well. Supers and grenades were also mentioned, and whilst they recharge faster than the beta, it seems we'll be encouraged to recharge them more quickly through aggressive play: an example given was a Warlock exotic chest that lets you hover in the air (sounding a little like Empyrrean Bellicose) where kills whilst hovering will quickly recharge your grenade.

Overall, the impression of the campaign sounds very good - lots to do, and a lot more to find. Sounds very encouraging!

I just recently bought a PS4 Pro which is pretty much my first deeper delve into the Playstation ecosystem. I'm now looking for a good Bluetooth headset that I can also use on any other system, such as Xbox, PC and smartphone. PS4 Internet issues

Hi, I use virgin media internet in the UK and my ps4 speeds are diabolical. Speed tests via computer say my dl speed is 100mbps but the highest i get on ps4 speed test is 2mbps. I know it's better to use ethernet but it's not possible at the moment.

Just wondering if this is a problem with playstation or my internet provider?

The Ps5 is predicted to release in 2 to 3 years, would it be worth to wait or get the Pro instead?

the reason that I want the Ps4 altogether is for God of war and Spiderman, Uncharted etc. God of war is slated to release early next year, that would mean waiting 2 or 3 years for the ps5 to play depending on the release, the Ps5 will most likely be extremely powerful and worth it, but the wait to play God of war and Spiderman would be to long. I have an Xbox one and a gaming pc which is very good. I feel that the Pro would be the best choice, but still the Ps5 will be very powerful. What's your take? The ps4 is mainly again for exclusives, same with Xbox and Pc is for everything else. I know that the Pro is quite strong itself, more than ps4 even though that is also strong and very good.

Just bought the game at a Redbox for $2 used! I enjoyed the original. I know reviews are bad. But didn't know if maybe over time after some patches it got any better? Any opinions of this game?

Buy Lawbreakers if you loved Unreal Tournament and Quake Arena. It is not a hero shooter like Overwatch nor a kill heavy one like Titanfall 2. More general answers inside.

There is A LOT of misinformation about the game in most forums. I played a ton this past week, and having played most of the mainstream shooters during the last 10 years I think I can give a quick rundown of what Lawbreakers is and isn't.

Also, wait a couple days (weeks) before watching any real reviews (good or bad ones), this game requires a certain degree of mastery to be fun on a constant basis, and most reviews out there are from 12 hour sessions, which isn't nowhere near what a game like this needs. It is a very small niche, and I think most outlets aren't giving it the extended look it deserves.

Ok here it goes:

• Does it play like Overwatch or Team Fortress 2? Nope, noooooooo. There are different heroes but they work like classes (say, loadouts in Call of Duty). They range from supersonic to heavy, they all play different but team composition has no importance. They're all skill/twitch based, so it's on the hardcore end of aim heavy shooters.

• Does it play like Titanfall 2? If you didn't like jumping around and dashing mid air there, you won't like it here. With that said, the maps are much more centered (smaller, but with huge verticality) around a hub, and the modes are all objective based. No Team Deathmatch or similar mode.

• Is Time To Kill superfast? Not as fast as Titanfall 2 but way faster than Moba/Hero shooters.

• Is the playerbase already dead? Guys, the game had NO marketing, so I guess they're hoping to spend that money now? Anyway, the reports that say that are 7k players (2k on PS4) seem fair, but matchmaking takes 30 secs TOPS to find you a game. There is only one playlist and you can join games in progress.

• DLC? Maps and heroes are already on the way and will be free. There are cosmetic microtransactions.

• Can I play solo/for fun/casually? It is a skill based shooter where aim is the most important part of your kit, so you can play solo and influence the whole match. Team comp isn't important but teamplay sure is, objectives matter over kills. Casually? eeeeeeeh. I think that in a couple weeks there will be a gigantic chasm between "pros" and newbs. The skill ceiling is high already and will skyrocket. Imho this will be the main problem of the game, trying to gain player numbers while early adopters smash their expectations.

• The game looks boring? Yeah, not very creative, but the movement flows beautifully and the maps are really well designed.

• 60 fps? Almost, but not quite. I guess I'm getting 48-55 (base PS4) on most skirmishes.

I can answer some other stuff, and edit in to the post. I really like that the PS4 is getting wildly different niches (pc rpgs with Pillars, Torment, etc) and Arena shooters could find a devout community in Sony's console. Lawbreakers is almost Unreal Tournament 2017, with some bits "modernize" to appeal to mainstream. It's hella fun, but it won't be everyone's cup of tea.

Right analog stick pushes left while left analog stick is pushed upwards?

Ive been having an issue with my controller for a couple weeks where randomly when I am pushing forward on my left analog stick, my right analog stick starts to look to the left. If i stop pushing forward (or push in any other direction) it stops looking to the left until i either push forward again or input another direction on the right analog stick. This is very frustrating when all i really play is call of duty lol and it throws my aim off all the time when trying to move and aim at the same time. Has anyone else ever had this issue or know what can be done to fix it?

Just Cause 3 is really bland and uninspired

I noticed a few days ago that Just Cause 3 was free for Playstation Plus owners. So I decided to download it since I am kinda bored with Battlefield 1 right now. It only just finished downloading this morning (Fuck you Australian internet speeds) and I'm about 3 hours into the game. The scenery in the game is absolutely beautiful; but honestly the game just feels boring. It takes only about 2 or 3 shots with any gun to kill an enemy, the guns have literally no recoil, and it's just not difficult. Not to mention the missions themselves aren't really that interesting either; it usually boils down to go to this location, blow shit up, kill any enemies and then escape the area. Over and over again, and it gets stale very quickly. The characters have a really cliché Italian/Mediterranean accent and the characters themselves aren't really interesting. That Mario guy is downright annoying as well.

Does the game ever become fun? Or have I just wasted 40 GB?

Questions About The Razer Kraken 7.1 V2 Headset Compatibility With The PS4

Hello, I recently ordered the Razer Kraken 7.1 V2 headset for the PS4, but there are a few questions I have regarding the headset which I just can't seem to find online through Google or Youtube videos. If you have this headset or know any information I would greatly appreciate your response to these questions.

1. Does this headset come with 7.1 surround sound directly out of the box? Meaning when I plug in the USB of the headset into the PS4, the 7.1 surround is already present and not stereo sound?

2. Will the changes made to the headset through the downloadable Kraken software on PC (Meaning the headset is USB connected to the PC) be saved into the headset when plugged into the PS4 afterwards? Examples include the headset light patterns, sound settings, mix settings, etc.

PS4 to VGA Monitor *Please Help*

So I purchased a ps4 to play with my friends and play the spiderman exclusive when it came out as I bought a xbox for just halo irrelevant information and I have 1 monitor that I can actually use my PS4 on as all my others are currently occupied. The monitor flashes; "Check Video Cable" or "Monitor going to sleep" then goes to black screen then back to that I can provide video.

Now the monitor I own is a W2072a VGA monitor, meaning it only accepts VGA. When I put the VGA in my monitor then the little HDMI thing at the end into my PS4 it would say, "input signal out of range change settings to 1680x900 - 60 hz". A little research suggested that I should get a VGA to HDMI converter, I did. I purchased a white converter / adapter. I changed the settings on my TV to support 720p, disabled that HDCP option and safemode worked PERFECTLY fine.. For a few minutes. It would work for aprox 1 minute, I could do pretty much anything and then it goes black screen slowly.. It flickers every few seconds until it just doesn't display it anymore and rapidly displays "Monitor going to sleep" black screen "Monitor going to sleep" until it doesn't work.

I've tried changing the resolutions multiple times, checked to see if I had damaged ports, it all works perfectly fine I just don't know what the issue is. Please help!

[Question] credit card invalid

So I added a credit card to my own account today. When I finished adding the card my discover app notified me that a dollar was purchased from the psn store (I assume just to verify it being added to the psn).

Well, when I go to make an actual purchase I keep getting "invalid card information" errors. That can't be right because a dollar was just authorized through the same card.. and I'm nowhere near my limit.

Any help on this would be great. I've looked up "fixes" through google and nothing has helped me so far.

I finished this Morning the game, good places and good gameplay but im disappointed for a few thing of the Story just ridicolous the records of the father... Superhot VR: Please put on headset?

I'm trying to play Superhot and it let me play the entire training sequence but when I get to the computers it says repeatedly please put on headset. Getting pretty annoyed. Any help really appreciated.

So My PS4 randomly deleted my DLC's on older games.

I opened my Dragon Age Inquisition because a friend came by and has a few questions on the skill trees. Then once it loaded I couldn't load my game files. It says It can't load the game file because I was missing all my DLC's so I proceeded to redownload all of them. It got me curious. So I checked all the other games I have and sure enough a lot of my other games are missing their DLC's. I googled it and have done the following solutions:

1) Shut down the PS4 for 3 minutes. Turned it on again. (didn't work) 2) Made the PS4 account primary. (it already is) 3) Restore Licenses (didn't work)

As an additional information I moved my games to an external hard drive to save storage on my PS4. Those on the external harddrive are the only ones without DLC. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Anyways, can anybody help?

Hey guys! I've found good secondhand deals for both SFV and Injustice 2, but my wallet can only afford 1. Which would be the better choice? I'd preferably actually get both, but I should make responsible adult decisions and not overspend :')

My concern is that I'd have to buy the Season passes to enjoy the newer characters in SFV. I believe that Injustice 2's story mode alone is enough to make up for lacking the DLC characters, but I'm worried that I'd be losing out if I don't get the SFV's DLC characters.

Welp, I've given up on long HDMI runs for 4k

I tried the following combos for about a 35 ft run from PS4 Pro to LG 27UD69P-W 27 4K monitor. It works great with the short cable that came with the monitor.

-Older 50 ft Blue Rigger cable High Speed with ethernet (This was I installed for the PS4 1080p run before I upgraded).

New 50 ft Blue Rigger (I thought maybe the old cable was too slow). This only worked 1080p

Monoprice Luxe Series CL3 Active High Speed HDMI Cable, 35ft - No dice with this cable either, ALMOST got an image but constant cut outs (worked with 1080p)

2 20ft Monoprice certified cables connected with a monoprice blackbird 4k HDMI repeater (this had been reported to work for some people). It worked with the cables still coiled together and even stretched out. Then, after running the cable through the basement (no crazy bends or anything) it worked for about 5 mins then cut out and never came back.

So now I have officially given up on getting a long HDMI run and just decided to run an ethernet cable for me needs instead (much easier, duh).

TL;DR: Don't expect to get affordable long 4k HDMI runs with reliability. Seems to really be a crapshoot over 25 feet.

Headset difficulty

This may not be the correct place to post this, I bought an afterglow AG 9+ headset the audio is fine but I can't get the mic to work. I went into settings then devices and my ps4 recognizes it and says it's hooked up, but I still can't get the mic to work with me speaking. Dual shock 4 issues with battery or the controller?

I'm having issues with my ds4 (had it since ps4 release) that I don't know if I need to replace the whole thing or just the battery. It charges really hot and barely holds a charge, so my first thought was the battery is dieing but its doing other weird things now. I left it charging on a non fast charge plug for a while and when I unplug it the controller still lights up orange slowly like its charging, I turned on the ps4 and that also shows the controller is charging even though it is not plugged in.

Anyone had a similar issue and know if it is just a battery issue or controller issue.

Also does anyone know any good replacement battery's (uk).

DS4 controller no longer charges and PS4 coincidentally has been crashing a lot

Now I don't know if it's because of the controller but ever since it stopped charging, the PS4 has been crashing and giving me the notorious CE-36329-3 error. Now I haven't initialized it yet because I want to find out what the exact cause of this is since it's just a little too coincidental for my case. Will I have to get a new cable for the console, will I have to get a new controller, or is my PS4 now a paperweight?

How are DLCs "region-locked"?

I'm in the USA. I've been looking at the collector's edition options for Ni No Kuni II and have decided that the UK edition is the one I'd rather have. I've read that PS4 discs aren't region locked but the DLCs are, but I'm a bit confused on the concept. This particular edition comes with the season pass with what I'm assuming is a redemption code. Will I have to make a UK PSN account in order to redeem this code? And if I chose to purchase the season pass from the US PSN store, would it not work with the disc? I want to know for sure how this works so I'm not surprised later.

DualShock 4 keeps resetting after turning PS4 off? (Into rest mode).

Every time I turn off my PS4, my DS4 resets itself. When I plug it in with a micro-USB, it just shows it charging, but it will not connect to my PS4. The only way to fix this is plugging the AC cord out of my PS4. What is the problem?

Destiny 2.. For those that played the beta, how is the 30 fps? Smooth or unplayable?

Unfortunatley I didnt play the beta but I have fears about this game being 30 fps, ESPECIALLY for a FPS, jesus, I cant even remember the last time I played a fps that ran at 30 fps.

For those that played the beta, how did it run? I am talking about the PvP in particular. Was it smooth deslpite the 30 fps?

Quick question about No Man's Sky. I started the game for the first time recently, and I'm so stuck I can't even have fun. Does the game start out the same for everyone? Like, I have to find a bunch of minerals and junk to repair my little ship - did you do that too?

Hey everyone, I'm sure this has been asked before but I need help connecting my external hard drive to my ps4.

I have googled and tried many different solutions so I am asking here sort of as a last resort.

My hard drive meets all requirements (USB 3.0, minimum storage) but for some reason won't connect.

I formatted it to exFAT on my computer but it still says the format is unknown when I select it on the USB storage devices screen on my ps4. When I press the option button on the same screen and try to format it to exFAT on the ps4 it gives me this error code: CE-30005-8). When I double check the format on my computer it still reads exFAT so I'm confused as to what else could be going on.

A few questions about 2 consoles with one PS Plus.

Hey guys I've looked a bit around online but I just want to double check a few things and find out a few things I can't find an answer to. My situation is I already own a PS4 which my girlfriend mainly plays using my PSN account. She mainly uses it for Friday the 13th, GTA 5 and Netflix. I was thinking about getting a second PS4 to use for myself but I have a few questions:

1 - I know we can't play online together at same time using the same PSN name which doesn't bother me when playing Friday the 13th (for example) with her but is there any way for me to play a different online game from her with the same account whilst she still plays FT13? Same for offline games - can I still play a single player game with my normal account whilst she plays online with it?

2 - which PS4 would be the best to set as the primary one. Would it be the new one I buy that I'll be using? I say this because I don't mind setting up a second account to play some games online. I'd want to keep using my account for some of my online games though.

3 - if my console is the primary console would my girlfriend still be able to watch Netflix, now to etc on "her" console and could she still be signed in as me or would she need to be signed in as a guest or whatever whilst I use mine?

Why or what or how did you choose PlayStation over Xbox? For me it was simple my first console after N64 was a PS2...stayed a sony fanboy since then. New PS4 User - Can't buy from store properly

Hey so I just bought a PS4 and I'm having a problem buying things on the PS Store... Kind of... I was able to buy a months PS+ and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Eyes of Heaven but then I wanted to buy some of the big PS4 exclusives that I've missed out on in the last while (Last of Us Remastered, Little Big Planet 3, Ratchet & Clank and InFAMOUS Second Son for the record) but every time I try to buy these games, I get an error saying my card details are invalid, or that the order didn't go through. I tried this with both my Paypal and my Debit Card. Both have money and both aren't locked. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

Edit: Exact Error Code is WC-40382-7 however after googling it, my card doesn't match any of the descriptions that they mentioned

Party chat quiet while broadcasting to twitch?

Hi guys, just looking for some help!

I bought a PS4 Pro a few weeks back, and it's been meh on WiFi (meh like taking 4 hours to update GTA V before playing) but the LAN just won't work!

The cable is a CAT5 and is wired through the house, since my room is very far from the modem and router, so getting a new cable isn't an option. The connection works perfectly on my laptop, and used a both side testing device so we know the cable works.

Just my PS4 Pro refuses to acknowledge it's existence! Any advice?

(Also that red glow coming from the optical audio port scares me)

Yakuza's music is phenomenal

I'm on my third play through...that says a lots since I rarely find a game I can be bothered to finish once, not for many, many years have I gone for a second play through and never have I done them so close together...

One thing I love about the game is the music, it's truly spot on, from the ominous deep base resonating in the dark gritty crime scenes, to the energy inducing guitar riffs when facing Kuzey woozy, to the classy jazz like mixed sith metal in chase scenes to the rather comical karaoke BWEEAKING THE LWAR songs.

I am nervously pumped for Kiwami and been waiting so bad for it (A little scared as I've played 4,5 and zero and heard 6 isn't as good and I'm hoping there's a lot of different minigames and Kamurocho is different (I know the layout in 5 is similar with zero excluding the roofs/underground) but if the music is the same, I'm all for that!

In my opinion, it's one of the most underrated scores...at least, not spoken about.

I have a gamesharing problem.

So today i gave my account to a friend, who then activated my account on his ps4 as primary, downloaded a game, and then logged out. After that i changed the password of my account and turned off my ps4. Now, when i turned on my ps4 and tried to play, all of my digital games are locked and i cannot play any of them. It shows that " It will take some time until i can use this comtent on my ps4 with my licenses". I did try to restore licenses and still nothing. Any idea why?

Any news as to if Sony will release a 4k blu ray player add on for the ps4? (If possible) I really don't want to spend £200-300 on one. :-(

Are there any not garbage mmorpg's coming to ps4 sometime 2017/2018?

So far they all suck. All the seemed good mmo's got canceled, every last one of them. except dragons dogma which is barrier locked.

We got "Let it die" which sadly was the closest good game/online but still terrible. non open world not mmo or rpg at all.

I was excited to see that the major update for this game has finally come out to address the problems many complained about. Here's my first impressions and biggest takeaways:

Camera - Thank God! Set the camera to manual, and it's a totally different game. You now have complete control over the camera just like any other 3rd person game. I switched back to the classic controls to see if there was that big of a difference, and there totally is! With that said, however, there is still something about this game that is slightly bothersome on the eyes. I don't think its the 30fps, but just how the engine renders it. Maybe someone who knows more can chime in as to why.

Dialog - Although the game was sticking to its roots with the goofy dialog sounds, it's a very nice option to turn the short version on. For me, it was a distraction to read while listening to the gibberish. The ability to now consistently skip and speed up dialog is a nice addition too!

I loved the Banjo-Kazooie games, so I was very excited for this. The camera for me made gameplay difficult. This update is a big turn in the right direction. I can safely say I'll be playing it this weekend!

Ps4 microphone question

Hey guys. I just got a ps4 yesterday so I'm quite new to this but how do I get my microphone to work. I've tried the headphones that came with my S8 phone and a pair of third party Marley headphones (both have a Microphone) but neither will allow me to chat. They aren't broken because they work with my phone and laptop. The ps4 will only recognize me speaking into them if I press and hold the play/pause button. How do I fix this?

Unable to deactivate a primary PS4

So I put my account on another PS4 a while ago and activated it as the primary PS4 so I could access my library of games,I don't have access to that PS4 anymore & am trying to activate my account as primary on my PS4 that I'm using now,I'm unable to deactivate it via the PlayStation app due to already using that once & it can only be done once every six months (which is stupid) when I press activate on the actual system it comes up with the choice to "change to this PS4" however when I select it it says I can't activate this system as my primary PS4. Can somebody give me a solution please?

Discussion: For Honor impressions from the free weekend and after fixes

Hey everyone,

So I've had a background interest in For Honor since its release- but had consistently heard negative things about it. I feel like the negativity surrounding the game has been a sort of nebulous cloud of critiques, none of which I'm absolutely clear upon...so, when I heard the game had a free to play weekend coming, I decided to finally give the game a look.

I'll reserve my judgment for now because I've only played the tutorial and the first story mission. But I'm curious what others are thinking about the game? I figured now may be a good time to discuss the title's current state on PS4.

Worried about playing Batman Arkham Knight on my PS4

I bought a used Batman Arkham Knight game online and the disc was filthy af... It had dust literally stuck on the shiny side. Anyway I washed the disc using some water and soap (source Youtube) and the dust went away but there are these spots or tiny dots as well on the disc that just don't seem to go away... I was wary of putting that disc in my PS4 but I thought let's see if the game installs then the disc would only be used for verification but guess what I insert the disc and the game starts right away - no install screen or any message that the game is being installed... Also, the disc drive was making a clicking sound every couple seconds... I took out the disc right away... Now, I have a few questions... Why the hell is Batman Arkham Knight not getting installed? Will the game run from disc all the time? What should I do with the disc - use it or return it? Please help...

Phantom USB headset keeps connecting to my controller?

So, for the past few days, i've been getting messages that a usb headset is connected to my controller, even though there is no headset or microphone connected. After a few minutes, another message appears saying it's been disconnected. At first i thought it was someone that has paired their headset to my controller, but since it is a usb headset surely it would have to be wired to my controller? This is really annoying as sometimes i will be using a mic in my party and then the phantom headset connects, so i cannot hear anyone in my party for a few minutes. I have tried looking for paired devices, turning off my controller and the console to no avail. Is there anyway to fix this?

Having really bad Overwatch Lag all of a sudden, but internet is fine.

Ever since the summer games event started I've been having lag. Where the characters will run in place and then disappear. I ran a connection test and internet was fine. Suggestions on a replacement modem?

Right now I'm getting fleeced by spectrum with rental fees for my modem. I'm hoping you guys can suggests a good one to replace it with, obviously one good for gaming. Also if possible I need it to have at least two Ethernet ports. The model I have now is ok and has two bands of signal on it, it is a techinicolor modem. Somewhat on a related note I have been having lots of disconnections lately,where I will get dropped out of what I am playing and then my modem goes offline. My trophies glitched out? Please help if possible.

So, I was playing a game, Final Fantasy ReMIX to be exact. I played for like 5 hours today and earned several trophies, but when I checked my trophy list for the game, none of them showed up. I know for a fact that my Internet never cut out or anything, my PlayStation Plus account was on the whole time, and I saw the little flashing icon alert show up for each trophy. So why does my trophy list for the game say I haven't earned any of the trophies? Any idea what may have happened and if there's any way to fix this problem? I know it's something small, but I like having my trophies.

As in settings or other tips or tweaks.

Owned a Xbox and pc primarily this generation.

I have a 4K HDR tv from Samsung which the PS4 is connected too.

Onimusha Remaster or Sequel?

With the success of the game NIOH on the PS4, does anyone else want a remaster of the Onimusha series? I would love to play the games in HD, or even to get a Sequel? According to the game series' Wiki, "As of 2017, the series has sold over 8 million copies, making it Capcom's seventh best-selling franchise, behind the Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, Street Fighter, Mega Man, Devil May Cry and Dead Rising series."

Any pc monitor owners get their Ps4Pro's to work in 1440p?

TV died. But. I'm getting a Acer X34 Predator for my PC coming in the mail. That's why I'm asking about 1440p not 4K. Obviously I'll have black bars. But until I can afford a new sweet Tele. It's gonna be my only option.

I've seen mainly stuff about 1080p being the only resolution it'll come through as.

Anyone know a way to solve this until I can afford a new Tele. Will crying into it work?

Just now, the kickstarter for Re:Legend achieved its stretch goal and it will be released for the PS4. It's one of the games I'm most excited for next year, since it's a mix of so many great things. Let's just hope it'll be as good as it has the potential to be. The release is expected for June 2018.

And before anyone asks, you WILL be able to select the platform you want to play once the campaign is over. Which means that, even though it is said on the pledges that you'll get a steam code of the game, you can also choose to have it on PS4. Check the first question of the FAQ for source.

DS4 Not charging after being taken apart and back together, possible fixes?

Opened a ds4 so that I could repaint the shell without worrying about electronics at all but now with it back together it doesn't change. I've checked multiple times that everything's been put back properly, button pads, ribbons etc but I can't see any issue.

EDIT: The controller will charge with certain cords, blocks, or directly plugged to the system, not sure why it's working this way but I got it to charge by using a spare micro USB cord and plugging it into the system from there.

Just got the option to "Share Music Information" in the Share menu

So, I finished up Abzû and wanted to share a screenshot to twitter. When the share menu came up, it gave me the option to Share Music Information. Since I've never seen that before, I naturally clicked on it and it brought me to a screen with three sections, "Now Playing", "Recently Played", and "Recently Saved". In order to access those menus I had to give PSN the permission to read music from my Spotify account. Once finished, it showed me those lists in full. I selected "Ocean Avenue" by Yellowcard and it gave me the option to Share to Facebook, Twitter, or Activities. I will update this with pics as soon as possible.

Issues with PS4 controller

So I play R6: Siege religiously(read daily) and have been having the most annoying bug or whatever it is and looking for any way to fix it

Whenever I ADS with my weapon and try to move slightly to the left it always moves me like 3 feet over instead of the 1 or 2 steps I wanted to take and im constently having to readjust or trying to have to compensate for this, does anyone else know what im talking about? Or a way to fix it? It happens rarely in other games where I need to ADS but happens all the time in R6 and its throwing me off

Best cheap headset.

I have a playstation silver headset that was $20 and has the dongle to give any other 3.5mm headphones/set the simulated 7.1

It is having problems in one ear and I want a replacement. Comfort would be top priority as current one gives headaches. Then of course sound. Any advice? Looking for 60 and under..

Anyone else dislike turn based games?

So I really like JRPGs, but turn based combat feels to me like its based on luck.

Recently I got killed by an enemy 5 times because they got good combos and my characters kept missing all their attacks.

In action based combat, its all up to the skill of the player. If you dodge well and have good reactions, you can win most fights just through that.

Anyone else feel this way?

Is PS4 Pro the last PS4 console?

Or will there be some PlayStation 4 X? And how long do you think till PS4 comes out? Thanks!

My PS4 is acting up

I've had my PS4 since launch, never had any issues - until now.

First thing that happened was I got an error code yesterday, saying something like "Database is ruined". Only option was to turn it off. I restart in safe mode, and press "Rebuild Database". When it reaches 100% another error code shows "Cannot turn on PS4" with the only option being to turn it off again.

Alright, well I guess I can't rebuild my database? I try initializing the PS4, deleting everything on it, with success. Now my PS4 is completely wiped. However, it's unbearably slow in the home screens, and freezes when I tried starting Little Big Planet 3. Once more I get the "Database is ruined" error code. Once more rebuilding database won't work, even though my PS4 is completely wiped. I initialize once more, wipe everything, and that's where I am now.

It's still slow, and I'm certain I will get the database error again. How can I fix this? Is my PS4 permanently fucked? How can I rebuild my database without getting the "Can't turn on PS4" error? What is wrong and is it possible to fix it?

TLDR; My PS4s database is ruined, can't rebuild and initializing won't help. What can I do?

Unable to use DS4 with PS4 after connecting it to PC

I connected my DS4 to my PC a few weeks back using the USB cable a few weeks back and now I can't get it to resync to my PS4.

I've already tried using the reset button on the back of the controller, pressing the share and ps buttons together, deregistered the profile on Steam (although it seems to register it again almost immediately), and managed to delete the controller's profile on the PS4 using my arcade stick. I even tried rebuilding the database since someone suggested that. All I get when I connect the controller via USB to the PS4 is an orange flash from the LED bar and it shows up in the bluetooth device section again.

I know for a fact the controller and USB cord aren't broken because they still work with my PC. I've completely run out of ideas so I'd appreciate any other solutions I missed.

PS4 Nyko storage question

So recently I've ran into a problem. I bought a second hard drive for my PS4(4tb Nyko). It was all good but then about a month later it just stopped working. it says I need to connect a USB with a certain update file on it so I can fix it. I would like to know is this just a random issue and I got really unlucky. Or is it caused by the first hard drive being updated and since the firmware isn't stored on the hard drive it messes with the second hard drive and that's what's causing this. I'm going to check tomorrow to see if I have to reinstall the firmware or if I just have to update it.

PS4 Notifications Glitch

Has anyone run into the issue where notifications still pop up when they have been unchecked in the notifications menu? I have both Communities and Events unchecked and yet I still receive those notifications every time I turn my PS4 on. Any advise on how to stop this from happening?

Recover save data from a removed hard drive?

Months ago, I upgraded to a 2TB hard drive and made sure to upload all my saved data to the cloud so nothing was lost. However, I forgot to download one particular save file, and now that file has been overwritten in the cloud and I lost all my progress. I still have my old hard drive with the original file on it, but I know that it will be reformatted if I put it back in my system. So is there any way for me to extract that old save file and use it on my new drive or am I screwed?

Logitech G633 Question

I have a quick question to those of you who have this headset. I've done a google search and I found contradicting arguments. Some people say that the buttons will work via USB on PS4, while others say it doesn't this is only a PS4 feature. I'm not to keen on the 7.1, I just see that as a plus just in case I wanna use his on my PC. But my important things are the Mic mute, and volume scroller. Do those work? Are there any other buttons other then these, the pre-sets, and lights?

Is it possible for the Sony headphones MDR-X10 to make the mic work?

PS4 External HD Not Recognizing

So I've had my external hard drive for around 4 months and all of a sudden my PS4 doesn't recognize it. Like it doesn't exist. I removed the HDMI cable during rest mode to plug in my 360, move it back to PS4 and BLAM! Nothing. Any ideas?

Trouble with triangle button "sticking", but not in the usual way

All of the buttons easily go straight down and right back up with zero resistance aside from my triangle button.

It's hard to really explain what I mean, but when I press it feel as though there is some sort of resistance that i'm pressing against and it doesn't quickly press in and back up like the other buttons.

Imagine pressing a button on an arcade machine that you easily tap in and it pops right back up normally, but you put a small cushiony piece of rubber under that button so it offers resistance as you press down and it slowly pops back up into normal position. That's the only way I can think to describe it. I know for a fact that I didn't spill anything on it, so some kind of sticky substance is not the issue.

Does anyone know why this is or what I'm talking about?

Dead controllers.

So this morning my controller went dead. I left it plugged in for a couple of hours and not only was there no charging light but the controller was still dead.

I went and bought a new controller and its having the same issuse. no charging light when plugged and after an hour of charging still won't turn on.

Edit hitting reset didn't work, using different cable/charges etc doesn't work

Any Ideas or suggestions?

Kicked over an entire pitcher of water on my brothers PS4.

I felt horrible cuz it was a total accident of course, and both PS4 and pitcher were on the floor. Wiped it all away and tried to turn it on to see if it was broke. One beep, solid blue line and.... Dead. I know now that this could have fried the hard drive but luckily after 24 hours his PS4 is fully operational and cleaner than ever.

I put it in a box and poured rice all over it and it soaked up all the moisture. Working perfectly fine. Vaccumed out all remaining rice and dusted the thing at the same time.

Please people do not discount rice. An entire freaking pitcher. I don't have a deity to thank but thank you indigenous Chinese ancestors.
