In light of the recent success, did Sony make a mistake in not reacquiring Crash?
I'm sure Activision wanted some ridiculous amount that was laughable at the time (we can only speculate), but it seems to me like whatever they wanted would have been worth it at this point.
While we don't have confirmation of it just yet, it's pretty clear that future Crash and the trilogy will be coming to all platforms eventually. For the consumer, that's not a bad thing. But did Sony maybe let one get away (a la Dark Souls sort of) or do you think this nostalgia period will ultimately be a fleeting one and the IP itself wasn't worth the gazillion dollars that was the probable cost?

Plan to order two games (Yakuza 0, The Surge) from a PAL region (I'm in NA) for $71 AUD (Locally they are $80 CDN + Tax each). Never ordered PAL games and not sure what I should expect. Do I only have to mess with a PAL PSN account if I use DLC?
Moving from USA to Uganda
Like the title says, I'm (temporarily, for 1 year) moving from the USA to Uganda for work and taking my PS4. I have a US PSN account that I mostly use to play Final Fantasy XIV (not disc based) and a few other non-disc based games.
Is being in another country going to prevent me from playing my digital games or my online MMO (FF XIV)?
If so, is there anything I can do to fix it? FFXIV is linked to the PSN account, from what I understand.
Question about PS4 regions
I'm living in America and I'm buying the COD WWII Pro edition from Gamestop. I've just moved here from Australia and like keeping everything on one account(same one I've had since I got PSN). If I buy a physical copy of the game in the USA, can I then go and buy the season pass and other DLC on the Aussie store and use it with the USA Disc? Thanks
Plex app crashing
Anyone else notice the Plex app always crashes after inactivity? I've paused a TV show multiple times now and it always crashes after about the same period of time (~15-20 min).

I'm in love with The Surge, just can't stop playing it. My experience was really smooth until last night. I'm almost done with the zone called 'Research and Development'. There's a toxic location when you can find sunglasses. When I tried enter the area, the game just freezes and error CE-34878 popped up. Every single time. The best part is, the game let me in without any problem when I equipped my toxic resistance implant. I should we worried or it's just a glitch? Has anyone experienced this problem?

For ps4 pro users about flickering
I posting this as different post, because many people have this issue and comments are usually answers with: "Yea me too". So technical answer is and all credit goes to reddit user backseat-driver:
"Short answer, disable HDCP, if the flicker disappears get a new cable.
A bit longer answer...
HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) a form of DRM (Digital Copy Protection) which is used to prevent the copying of audio and video content that travels in a HDMI cable.
For HDCP to work, both ends needs to be HDCP compliant, if there is a receiver or a switcher of some sort in-between, it needs to be HDCP compliant as well.
HDCP works by sending a handshake including a key between the compliant devices, if one of these handshakes would fail there will be a momentary no signal (black screen/static). Depending on the devices themselves and how many of these handshakes fail, the output can be a bit different, such as it starting to flicker or only audio cutting out.
Sometimes there can be interoperability problems, which can make two compliant devices not work well together or at all because of improper implementation of the HDCP protocol. It can also show itself as working when turning the devices on in a specific order, and failing when started in another order.
Unplugging the power cords on offending HDCP devices can in some cases (temporarily) fix a HDCP issue, exactly why I can't tell as my knowledge about what happens inside the electronics is not good enough.
Often it has to do with a cable going bad, which can be hard to troubleshoot without knowledge about HDCP. The same cable might work with other devices, but likely it does so because the other device does not use HDCP or a different version (or implementation) of it.
Specifically on the PS4 one can disable HDCP, which is a good way to troubleshoot if the problem has to do with HDCP.

Now I will expand on it. Don't get any hdmi cable, get premium certified hdmi cable. And no, not in a name " premium hdmi gold plated 4 times twisted kissed by mermaid made in top secret lab with a help of Stephen hawking" hdmi cable, but it have to have hdmi premium certification.
Honestly hdmi basically f***ed whole consumer base for hdmi cables naming new standard premium, because everyone and their mother markets their hdmi cables as premium for the last 10 years.
So that is this premium certification? It proves that cable have bandwidth to stream signal at 4k 60fps. Where is very few cables on a market with this certification so be careful when buying it, make sure it is certified. I'm on mobile, so for more info just Google hdmi.org premium certification. I got it myself and signal dropping ALMOST dissappeared. It isn't perfect, but it gone from every 10-20min to maybe once a day.
Also, it might not work if you don't plug in your cable from ps4 to TV directly but use some box in between.
And if it's not HDCP or hdmi bandwidth problem and none of those two fixes help, when you out of luck, because I can't help you.
Also also, remember disabling HDCP your Netflix, YouTube won't work. You have to enable it again. Honestly blame Sony for not auto enable HDCP when entering drm content, because xbox does that easily. It is a lot of rockus if you use your ps4 as streaming box.
Where might be more, so smarter people than me could help in a comments, so read them.
Also, also, also I saw few people write about deep color function being disabled helped them with flickering, some one with more knowledge explain it in comments.

I can't play online with him anymore ever since my free trial expired. I'm 100% positive this started the problem. We've tried re-activating his account and restarting the console, but no still fix.
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

PS4 detecting tv as surround when it's stereo

Just installed Doom and noticed a lot of effects missing (it's fully installed) reading forums and doing tests I've noticed that the ps,4 is outputting surround sound and my tv is stereo so channels are missing. This is happening with all my gsmes and it's driving me crazy. Tried changing settings but it didn't work. Help please.
R1 Button Doesn't Work, Pressing Square Activates R1
I'll try to explain this as best I can, as this is my first ever post. Sorry if I didn't post this in the right place either, too. So I've had my PS4 since early January of this year, and have had no problems, until just recently. About a few weeks ago, the R1 button on my controller has stopped working (it's not stuck, by the way. It can still be pressed as normal, but does nothing.), and for some reason in games such as Overwatch, when I press square, it does what R1 is supposed to do, instead of the square function. I've tried everything, from turning it on and off to restarting the PS4, to using a paperclip in the hole in the back, blowing into the hole around the button, and admittedly smacking the controller a few times. Still nothing works. I really don't want to have to buy a new controller, so does anyone have any idea what's wrong with it, and how I can fix it?

Why does everything on my ps4 homescreen always "lose connection" after like 3 minutes of not using it?
Every time this happens I have to either log into another account go back to mine or disconnect/reconnect the internet. It's not like it just says I don't have connection but nothing loads at all. My games are still working fine online when this is happening.
I don't think I've seen anyone else with this problem and I believe I had this problem on my regular ps4 too (using the pro currently). Help?

Constant disconnects with my controller and headset
Was wondering if anyone has had this problem before? I have a ps4 pro and a few days ago i started getting constant microphone disconnects in my headset (turtle beach elite 800). Its not all sound, i can still hear other players talking and game audio when it disconnects, its just my microphone that appears to be disconnecting. At first i thought it was just the headset, but my controller has also disconnected a few times, though much less frequently. Any advice?

PS4 Pro Download Speed
Really hoping you guys can help me out. My Mac gets download speeds around 85-100 Mbps, but for some reason my PS4 only downloads at around 25-30 Mbps and it's driving me crazy. I tried setting up a proxy with Squid, but nothing changed. Any solutions besides just hardwiring it?

Pyre is gorgeous and engrossing and anyone who likes rpgs should play it.
This game may sneak by people who are playing something else or more accustomed to triple A games, but this is seriously one of the best games I've played on playstation. If you played/liked transistor then you're really in for a treat, and if you didn't, Pyre is Super Giant's best game to date and a fantastic place to jump aboard. This small team develops games like no one else in the industry imo, so fascinatingly unique and absorbing. The art style is absolutely bonkers, the story is woven and complex with a diverse array of characters, and the gameplay hook (a sort of sports-inspired duel) is much deeper than first meets the eye. The game plays a bit like a visual novel, but heavily interspersed with very skill driven gameplay. Lots of decisions, and forks in the plot. Sort of like a fantasy Oregon trail.

After my first paycheck I bought a used Elite Pulse Headset for ps4. The problem is that it came without the usb dongle. I just read that without that I can't get 7.1 sound as the DS4 only outputs stereo. Can I buy a generic dongle (I live in Chile so that is the bet I can get), or connect the headset trough usb and get sorroun sound? And more importantly, I am loosing too much quality using this connected to the 3.5 jack on the DS4?

How to fix my DS4 controllers myself?
So, I've had this problem for awhile, but am just now looking at actually fix it (if possible). Basically, both my DS4's have some sort of problem with the sticks. One of them, for instance, gives bad input-- I'll be moving straight to the right in something like the Binding of Isaac, and every so often Isaac will dip downwards, then back straight. This is the more heinous and messes up a lot of inputs, pushing me back when I'm aiming straight, so on and so forth.
The second controller just has a bit of a problem with the R3 and L3 click, for sprinting and whatever it's used for in other games. Sometimes it just doesn't register until I push really hard. What can I do to fix these? Can I crack these open and fiddle around with them myself, or is this something I should just replace?

Issues with the new Dualshock 4 model (CUH-ZCT2U)

About a week ago I was gifted a new Dualshock 4 and it happened to be the new model (with the lightbar shining through the touchpad). This is the first time I've had a controller of this model. I've been noticing some weird input issues. Not necessarily input lag, but I guess you could call it input ghosting. I'll just be playing regularly and all of sudden my character in game will move like they have a mind of their own. Sometimes the incident lasts a second, other times it can last until I completely shut down the controller and turn it back on. I've plugged it into my PS4 and played with it so it could sync properly, I've restarted my system entirely, and I've tested it out on multiple games. Nothing seems to help. I assume I have a defective controller, but I just wanted to check to see if anyone here had similar issues or had a fix.
Controllers randomly disconnect?
I was playing Diablo 3 with my roommate when both our controllers suddenly disconnected from the PlayStation and started to blink white. Plugging them in through the USB ports did not reconnect them and they are basically brinks not doing anything. We are in the middle of a run and don't want to kill power to the playstation so is there a way to get them reconnected and what might have caused this to happen in the first place?

I'm not sure if it's fun or not, but I bought it because it's $20 bucks, and some friends both from steam and that I know personally, have said that it's a fun game.
I never played Metal Gear Solid ever in my life. I DID buy a PS3 and have the Legacy collection of MGS, which includes every single game from the series.
Should I play the legacy games first from the collection, and then play MGSV last or just jump right into MGSV?
Connection problems
Just got fibre broadband installed, and my PS4 is now struggling to connect to the wifi and when it does connect it's incredibly slow (6 hours for a 180mb update). Is this a problem with the PS4 or something else because all the other devices are working fine. The router is about 10-15 meters away from where the PS4 is.

Anyone else have a problem with their PS4 freezing?
Over the last few weeks, my PS4 (original) has started to freeze up every 20 minutes or so for about 30 seconds at a time every minute until you reset, sometimes having to pull out the power. I thought it was a problem with my upgraded internal hard drive, so I did a clean setup on my original hard drive again and it was fine for a while but has started happening again (on a nowhere near full HD). It makes me want to put my head through a wall when it crashes in the middle of a ranked rocket league game, does anyone have any ideas!?

Hey, Summer is quite thin when it comes to new games. I spontaneously bought Tekken 7 because it reminded me of the times when I played Tekken 3 and 4.
Gotta say the game doesn't have much to offer. Story mode is probably very short and the arcade mode ends after 5 minutes. I'm not sure if I'll enjoy the online mode, because I'll probably get my ass kicked.
The problem is, I can only trade within 24 hours. I bought it today, Sunday is closed so I'm not sure if the store is going to trade it back.
Should I try to trade it for injustice 2 or give it more time? Is the online mode filled with noobs like me?

So i got Fallout 4 to install on release with new issues. Finally made the upgrade to a PS4 PRO and now i get errors.
Hi, I'm at my wits end. I'm able to play pretty much every game i have since i upgraded to my ps4 except Fallout 4. When i first put it in, I got stuck installing at 50% (it started at 50% and never went any higher). I completely uninstalled the game and all DLC and save files that I had gotten from the cloud. Tried reinstalling it. The ps4 pro does recognize the disc as fallout 4, and proceeds to download the updates. as soon as it finishes updating, "Disc is dirty or damaged" and then it ejects.
I have Zero idea what's causing this as i am extremely careful with my games and there's no scratches or anything on it.
I also tried putting physical copies of other games in and they all work just fine.
Please help. Anything would be great.

I picked up one of the founders editions of this game earlier this week and I've been having a good time playing. The game is currently in early access for those who want to pay for it and will be going free to play sometime next year. I received one extra code for a standard edition digital download with my copy, however none of my friends want to play it (for free at that) and are all stuck playing some game with dinosaurs and forts and poor optimization or something.

I have been playing games since I was 8. First on my GBC with Pokemon Yellow, then we got a ps1 and I played Spyro 2 until I got everything. Ever since then I loved games. When I had any money it burned a hole in my pocket to pick something up. I have enjoyed the Ps2, GC, PS3, all the nintendo handhelds, Wii and Wii U. Now the systems I have are the ps3, ps4 and my N3dsXL.
I am finding it harder and harder to be excited about new games, not because I dont want to play, but because nothing is really "new" in my eyes. The last game that really pushed me to keep playing Was HZD and before that TLOU. The difference is those were original content. It feels like all that is out now are shooters, sport games or sequels. NOTHING is wrong with those, if you like them, you like them, they just dont interest me anymore.
I find myself the past few months replaying games on my ps3 like Mass Effect, Infamous and Sly. Hell, I tried to get into ME:A 3 times and it just would not click.
With all the free dlc talk and hearing great things about Dying Light..
The game is fun, kinda clanky but overall awesome and almost becomes 2 different games when it's night time, and with skills galore, and an enticing start to the game it sets you off very fast. What really kicked me was the awesome soundtrack! This synth cranked tunes are so great kinda hurts the game's not really cyber punkish to flow more nicely to the music. Pawel Blaszczak did a amazing job.

For some time now, I can't sync up my trophies and can't access the cloud to get my saves. It's giving me the error code NW-31456-9. I looked it up and did the fixes to my internet settings. Playing online still works, except for one game but I'm already asking help for that. However, syncing up my trophies and the cloud is still not accessble. Is there a way to fix this? Help would be appreciated.
Anyone else having issues with PlayStation right now?
I haven't played much today, been binging Netflix. Got a psn card and bought a month of psnow but now I can't play psnow. I tried playing a plus game and it loaded and played fine. I tried playing rocket league and I can not play online. I've restarted and logged out and back in and nothing online is working and I can't even get anyone from PlayStation on the phone cause it's Saturday.

View HDR screenshots in HDR?
So when playing a game in HDR the PS4 changes the video settings to output in HDR, but when closing that game the normal color settings resume. When viewing a screenshot from an HDR game in the capture gallery, the color settings don't change to HDR. Is there a way to make this happen?

How do I remove PS4 screws for cleaning?
My PS4 has been sounding like a jet engine for a while and I want to clean it out.
The problem I'm having is that I can remove the screws from the back. I've gone all through my T-set when the T-8 would work, but those screws are jammed in/screw-head not dripping
Is there any way I can get it open or should I just take it to a repair shop and see if they can manage it?

Hi, is the report-a-player system down since a few days or is it possible that I've been suspended from reporting other players? I don't get the notification that my report received and if action was taken. Sometimes I submit 100 tickets a week while >90% are legitimate. Is there an automatism of being excluded from the report-system if tickets are sent too frequently?

As you can see in the title I Game shared my brother but one day my games were locked so I activated my account back as primary ps4 and the games are still working for him. Anyone know why?
Issue with starting up my ps4
Bit of background. I felt like I was getting hit offline last night. I could connect to my main router but couldn't connect to my powerline adaptor and just decided to go to bed. This evening I went to boot up my ps4 and got into a bit of bother.
I start it up and it says Checking system storage status and once the progress bar hits 100% I get the message Cannot Start ps4, Connect a controller and press ps button. Now it says to install system update file for 4.72 or later. I went onto the Playstation site and downloaded the file that is 380ish mb (diddnt work) also the 800+mb file(also diddnt work). I got the error codes CE-34788-0 and ce-30784-1 and ce-30774-1. One of theses codes is to do with replacing a hard drive and another is to do with not being able to find a usb storage device I had my usb formatted for both these actions.
Anybody know what to do.

I recently bought a PS4 for $150 from an acquaintance that came with a few digital games. Obviously, those games are on his account; he's primarily a PC gamer and said he tried the PS4 for a few exclusive games but has no desire to stay with it now that he's finished them.
I have an existing PlayStation Account with some games on it and would love to buy some new ones as well, but ideally, I don't want to lose access to the handful of games that are already on this system. Is that possible, or will adding my account to this system result in me losing the games that came with it? Is it possible to still have access to those games while being primarily logged in to my account?
Two PS4's on the same network. On PS4 has lag, ping spikes, possible interference between the two consoles. Trying to research a good router replacement and tips to stop this happening. Would appreciate some advice.
I have been playing Siege for about a year with no lag or ping problems. A new housemate moved in with a PS4 and when we are both online I experience lag, crazy ping spikes, (up to 10,000 ms) and getting kicked from games.
He doesn't experience any problems.
We are both using wireless connection, I have a launch day ps4 and he has a newer version. Not the small one or pro but the one where the controller light appears on the face of the controller.
We are with Talk Talk and have a very basic router. We were thinking of upgrading to this;

Does anyone have any experience with this? Will the router fix the issue?

Both series look like the exact same thing. Are there any differences? I've never played either series before but I'm interested in trying one for some fun couch co-op.

Problem loading "New This Month" store page, tried various solutions to no avail
This is a really strange problem, and one I've not been able to get a response in regards to through any PS4 support channels.
Ever since the big summer sale, I'm no longer able to load the New This Month section of the Playstation store. It's the only issue I'm having within the entire platform ecosystem. No purchase issues, no download issues, no card issues, no login issues, literally everything works as it should--except navigating to the New This Month page. Every time I try it gives me an error that says "Navigation error: failed to navigate to page" in a text box up by the search bar.
I've tried it from incognito mode. I've tried it in 3 browsers. I've tried clearing my cookies and cache. I've reset my router and modem. I've tried it while logged out. I've tried it while logged into a friend's account. Nothing works.
It's not a huge issue, but it's a little bit annoying because that store subsection is my preferred way to check up on anything new on the store that I've missed lately. For a year, maybe two, my habit has been to go to that page and sort by newest and just take a quick peek to see what I've missed on the release slate.
It's so odd to me that this is the ONLY issue I'm having with the entire store or the online platform at all, really. Am I the only one having this problem? My google-fu failed me in finding anyone else with this one specific little problem. It doesn't help that it doesn't give me any error code, literally all it says is "Navigation error: failed to navigate to page." And it's ONLY the New This Month page.

my younger brother has a PS4 and a birthday coming up, and i'm trying to think of a gift for him. he's good on accessories, so i'm thinking he'd like a new game.
games he's really liked in the past are terraria, kingdom hearts, ratchet and clank, and osu.
my research has shown that some good options are either that new crash game, rocket league (his internet isn't that great, bad idea?), or the latest final fantasy. is there anything else you all would suggest over these, or one in particular out of the three?
also, any issues with used games on a PS4? he'd probably be happy or happier with a stack of interesting used games over a new one. trying to keep it $50 or under.
Looking for a stealth game
I have to decide between MGS V, Dishonored 2, and HITMAN. Which one in your opinion should I get? I had MGS V in mind but I don't think I will like it if it is too open, I mean it's a fun sandbox but it also has to have some direction, and not be repetitive (feel free to correct me if this is wrong), sorta like Dishonored maybe? I also loved Dishonored 1 but finished it in 6 hours, and this one has to be long.
So any help is appreciated, and BTW I've played TLOU which does stealth really well, and the story too. Also I'm open to other game recommendations you think I might enjoy.

Lawbreakers isn't an Overwatch clone.
Initially I shit on this game as a rubbish Overwatch clone, ignorantly based on the videos. After playing the beta I couldn't have been more wrong.
A few of the characters have similar looks and abilities, but the similarities end there. The gameplay, modes, and customization put Lawbreakers in a class of its own.
Hopefully more people give the beta a chance this weekend. $30 for a game this polished is incredible. I'm now more hyped for Lawbreakers than any other FPS.

So, I've recently downloaded the Watch Dogs 2 Demo and I really like the game and want to buy it, but I'm not sure if I should get it online or on disk. If I get it on disk will it continue from where I left in the demo or do I have to purchase it from the PS Store?

This is kinda dumb, but I'm gonna be that guy and ask. What kind of chair are yall using for gaming? I bought this bean bag chair from Wal-Mart and the thing gave out and went flat after a month. Any good PS4 exclusives?
I'm an Xbox guy. I've owned every PlayStation console and have enjoyed them very much, but all of my friends are Xbox players, so the majority of my games are Xbox games. I was tempted to buy a PS4 for the reboot of Ratchet and Clank, but then when I heard about Crash coming back, I instantly bought one.
Any multi-platform game I'll most likely get for my Xbox. Meaning I'm using my PS4 for exclusives only, so far I've got Crash, The Last of Us Remastered and Ratchet and Clank.
Are there any other PS4 exclusives? I've heard that Jak and Daxter is getting ported, so I'm excited for that. Plus, I played the PS3 Uncharted games and wasn't really a fan, so I may or may not get the PS4 Uncharted games.

I've had my ps4 for 3 years and it's a little bit dusty and I only cleaned the outside. Idk how dusty it is inside but I can hear the fans spinning when it's quiet at night. I'm thinking about upgrading to ps4 pro to get better performance and more storage. My ps4 had no lag spike when it came out and now it's still quite fast but at some point it would be slow or lag spike ( for a few seconds) This doesn't happen when I'm playing games but when im switching apps to youtube and netflix, etc... It also have error during games and it would close the application :(.

PS4 Pro making TV glitch out. Like when I turn the volume up etc...
So far I've ruled out the TV itself, the HDMI port(s) on the TV, and the HDMI chord(s). The only time there's an issue is when the PS4 itself is involved. For instance.. every time I hit the "volume up" or "volume down" button on my TV's remote, the screen flashes lines of glitchy green and grey static for a second. My television is a 4K HCL Roku Smart TV. Anybody experience something similar?

How to record previous game play
I moved from xbox a month ago. I used to double tap the home button and press x to record the previous 30 seconds. On ps4 i recorded it and it did the next 30 seconds. Can i record previous game play instead?

I've been trying to update my ps4 to version 4.72 but it stays on the same version (4.70) after it downloads and installs the update. It restarts and everything but when I go back to the home screen it begins to download the update again and when I check on settings it stays on the same version even though it "installed" the update.

So I was just in the middle of a mission in Elite: Dangerous and my game locked up... when I tried to restart, I found that Elite was no longer on my system, but all the rest of my games were...
My game was digital, so just to confirm that the game was no longer on my system I went to PSN and was allowed to redowbload... what?!

My ps4 keeps turning off mid-game and I don't know why. Please help.
I've had my ps4 since it's been released, and haven't had any problems with it until now. However for the last 3 months my ps4 has been turning off seemingly randomly and most of the time mid game. Sometimes it makes a low pitched beeeeeeeeeep sound when it turns off. But every time the blue light stays on and the fan continues running but the controller turns off as if I turned the ps4 off or put it into rest mode. I haven't cleaned it since I bought it and I've also learned how to replace thermal gel (haven't done it yet though) is it worth it to take all apart and clean it and replace the thermal gel? From what I've heard this isn't normal when the ps4 overheats so it may be a different problem entirely.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

How can I fix lag on FiOS wifi?
Recently moved into a new apartment, and we have Verizon FiOS. Used to have Comcast and my PS4 played 100% fine. For some reason, I just can't play lag free on this wifi.
I even payed to upgrade our speed and got the help of tech support to move the router to the middle of the apartment, closer to my PS4. I've watched videos that told me to change settings like DNS, MTU, and nothing really makes it much better.
It's never debilitating lag, but it's also never lag free. I sure as hell can't play competitive Rocket League with it, my pings are right around 100.
Does anybody know any other solutions that could help me? I'm running out of ideas and am becoming discouraged from playing.

Playstation took a dollar from Card
When trying to purchase something on the playstation store on ps4 it said card number invalid but when i checked my card balance it took a dollar
Put ps4 into rest to download game, booted it back up and now nothing is working.
So I put my PS4 into rest mode to download bloodbourne and after around an hour I went to boot it back up and now all it shows is a black screen with audio that cuts out every 2-3 seconds.
I tried entering safe mode but I can't even see the screen.
I also tried other HDMI wires and plugged in other systems and i can confirm that it's not the wire(s) or the TV.
What can I do to fix this?
Edit: Just to clarify, the TV is a 2010 Samsung flat screen and the ps4 is a first gen 500gb with no modifications made to it.

I play with headphones to not wake anyone up, and I like to get really immersed with loud volume. My son (soon 2 yrs old) wakes up once in a while, and it would be so great if there was a way to hear him - maybe have my phone propped up in his room and have a skypecall going to the ps4. Unfortunately, Skype isnt available for Playstation (?).

Horizon platinum theme without getting the platinum
Has anyone else received the horizon platinum theme without actually getting the plat? I've only done 35% of the trophies but the other day I got an email from Sony congratulating me on my platinum with a free theme :/
Sounds stupid but the last time I updated my trophy data it uploaded a few horizon trophies, bf1 plat and wildlands plat, so maybe the system glitched?

Razer Raiju Thumbsticks Question
So I have the Raiju. It's pretty damn good. What I do not enjoy is the thumbsticks. I like a domed stick. I use the kf cqcx on my stock ds4. I've seen people use kf on their raiju but I don't wanna destroy the stock sticks. So what I was wondering if anyone has used anything else on the stocks or have they taken the raiju apart & swapped out sticks?

Ghost recon wildlands dlc showing under for honor?
When I look at for honor on the playstation menu and go down into the game where it says the dlc you have for it, It shows ghost recon wildlands dlc? Does anyone else have this problem?
Question about installing patches.
Currently a game I play downloaded a patch that I don't want to play on. The problem I have with this is even though I unchecked all the auto update stuff in the settings option I now have the file. What I need to know is will the PS4 automatically install the patch if i were to restart the PS4? If not can I still play offline? (Just to be clear this has nothing to do with PS4's system updates)
[Question] SATA board died on external HDD. Can I replace my original PS4 HDD with the external one and keep my games?
TL;DR: Can I replace my PS4's original hard drive with one that I was previously using as extended storage without losing the game data previously downloaded onto that external HDD?
So, to give you a full run down:
I have had this Toshiba 1TB external hard drive for quite a few years. The SATA board has shorted now so that the drive will only run on USB 2.0. I am sure because I covered the two prongs responsible for USB 2.0 and the HDD did not react as it had been previously (saw the suggestion on another post).
I know I could go out and buy a SATA to USB 3.0 cable, but I just bought a shiny, new 4TB HDD and really what I want to do is clone my current external onto it. However, given that the SATA is broken, I was wondering if the better option wouldn't be replacing my original 500 GB HDD on the PS4 with the 1TB HDD from the older external drive. My main question is whether or not this would then require me to redownload the games that are already saved on the old HDD. I have backed up my PS4 onto the new external, so I am not worried about the games and data on the PS4's HDD, just the games that have been fully downloaded onto the old external HDD. Yes, I did obtain all of these games legally and I do still have the disk but we all know how download times suck.
PlayStation Music/Spotify issue. Help would be appreciated.
So, as the title suggests I'm having problems with the Spotify app on my PS4. I have never uninstalled Spotify and for some reason it just went missing so I decided to look at the "purchased" section of my library and sure enough it's there with a little arrow signifying that it isn't installed. After I open it to try to install it, it just says "Start" and whenever I click on that it would redirect me to a screen that says "Cannot find application. Do you want to look in PlayStation Store?" So, I click "Ok" and that redirects me to the store where it says that Spotify is already installed. I can't find any way to fix this issue which is why I'm posting here, hoping for some clarity in this situation.
SSD vs 7200RPM HDD in PS4 Pro
For those who have an SSD in their Pro - how much better are your loading times? I have a 7200RPM drive currently in and am contemplating going from that to an SSD. But I'm pretty sure the load times wouldn't be that much better for the price I'd pay for the SSD.

Every time I try to buy injustice 2 it just says my card is invalid even though I JUST purchased Battlefront Ultimate edition and Fornite like 9 hours ago. What the hell? I've checked my account, there are funds aswell, more than enough.

[PS4] Fortnite and Law/Breakers Free Downloads on PSN
I spent a good amount of time downloading Fortnite and Lawbreakers for PS4 yesterday only to be hit up to send money on a founder's pack. I already have two copies of Plants vs Zombies 2, so before I play I want to try the game to see if it is worth my time.
Q1: Is there actually any way to play the game without buying a pack of any sort like in Skyforge, Palladins, and even Paragon (eventually)? Demo?
Q2: It will take me 3 hours to download Lawbreakers, can anyone confirm if it can actually be played without being hit up for cash before you even try it. Demo?

Thinking of picking this up as I was recently introduced to the universe through Dragon Quest Builders.
I watched some gameplay videos and noticed there is a good bit of character switching mid-combat. So I was wondering if I could get some opinions and insights on it.
Also how hard is the game in general and combat?
I am talking about the original and not II / 2 but I'd love to hear thoughts on the latter if you've played both! But the original is very cheap right now so I am leaning towards that one.

I just finished Horizon zero dawn and all I can say is wow. I can't remember the last time I got so into a story, so in depth and complex, it's so cool how they leave all these little documents and recordings throughout the game to give you little bits and pieces. Not only is the story amazing but the detail that was put into each machine to make them look so amazing, the first time I seen a tall neck I was in aw. So just a shout out to the creators and artist of this magnificent piece of art!

So, with the news that GT Sport's career mode is completely shite, I was wondering what current racing games for the system have a good career mode similar to classic GT. so, upgrading/buying and selling cars is a must, for example. Any suggestion?
Moving data from 5TB to 8TB external?
I'm upgrading my PS4 from a 5TB to an 8TB external drive, as the 5TB is full. I'm not sure of the best way to do this. I can shuttle data across ~2TB at a time copying from 5TB to internal, then internal to 8TB, but it'll take a long time.
Is there any way for me to move the data between them directly?
Need help on how to play PS4 on my new monitor.
My 27" BenQ monitor just arrived and I plugged in my PS4's HDMI into the monitor. But I'm having trouble finding how to get onto the actual HDMI menu, like when you press the HDMI button on a remote control, not talking about the HDMI input or settings or anything like that.
I've tried typing how to find it into google and reddit, but nowhere tells me how to actually get onto the HDMI so I can actually play. Everything is plugged in and is working, I just wanna play like right now ;(
Recently bought a PS4. Is it meant to be this slow?
So all my friends play PS4 whilst I was on Pc so I caved and bought one too. I used to play on the 360 a bit a while back.
Is it me or is navigating the PS interfaces incredibly slow and clunky? If I want to join a friends party, instead of just pressing square or something on them in my friends list, I have to go through multiple pages - each of which seem to take forever to load even though there's nothing really to download on them.
Is there a problem with my unit/connection(internet is fast normally) or are all playstations like this. Surely Sony should have fixed this by now if not.

Anybody else kind of itching to play Black Flag again?
I think it's a mixture of the badass Euron scene on GoT last week and seeing that the DLC is going to be a PS+ game, but i kind of want to go back and play Black Flag again.
Unfortunately i sold my disc so i'll have to buy it on PSN but i dont really mind. I really loved that game's world and the combat, so I think i'm going to dive back in! Will probably just buy the regular version since we're getting the DLC.
PS4 won't turn on (No light, No Sounds). Advice?
(TLDR at bottom) So my PS4 (From launch '13.11/15) was in rest mode plugged into surge protector during a storm the other day when the power went out. I tried turning it on last night and it won't power on or make a noise. My TV and DirecTV box we're also plugged into the surge protector, but they are fine.
I've tried: 1. Unplugging it for 10+ minutes, plugging it back in. 2. Using PS3 cable. 3. Plugging into other power source. 4. Cleaning the dust. 5. Banging on it (internet suggestions).
I talked in an online chat with PS4 Service but they said I'll need to send it in for service which will be $107.
So I have that option (my overwatch disc is still stuck in system) or buy a new PS4. Neither option is ideal (my wife is having our first child in 5 weeks, so she isn't thrilled about me spending a lot of money on this). Do you guys have any thoughts? Would GameStop give me any trade in value for a bricked system? I have 2 controllers I don't use and some games (HZD, Overwatch, BO3, Destiny) that I would be willing to trade in as well.
TLDR: My PS4 System is Bricked. Is it worth sending it in for service ($107), or buying a new one ($250-$400 depending on slim or pro). First baby due in 5 weeks and wife wants to be frugal. Is their any trade-in value for bricked (and some games) towards new system?
Developers should only be allowed to put a URL in Update History if it can be opened in the PS4 browser.
I'm sick of this. There's no excuse a developer can't copy and paste patch notes into update history. That's exactly what that is for. But for some reason some of the Developers only give you a url to their website. Aside from the fact this is pure laziness and completely ruins the feature; it would be acceptable if I could just click on that link and it would open it in the PS4 browser. Thanks I just really need to vent about this. I hope more people will start talking about it and maybe we can see it in a future update.
What's with the Brazilians in the comments of the PlayStation channel?
Lately on the PlayStation YouTube channel there's been quite a lot of Brazilians angry that Just Cause 3 isn't a free PS plus game for them. I've seen comments saying Sony is taking advantage of Brazilians and people saying "#RespectBrazil". It's kinda pissing me off because they're just complaining because they don't have a certain game.

I'm trying to free up space on my PS4, but I'd like to keep the icons of the games I've beaten on my menu as "trophies." Is there a way to delete game data while keeping the icons on the main menu?
For example, I just beat FF15, my first Final Fantasy game. I'm pretty stoked. But I'll probably never play it again, so I sold it. There's a TON of data from that game taking up space on my ps4. I'd like to delete it, but I don't want the icon to disappear from the main menu. Is there a way I can free up space without deleting the game completely? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

So I posted this before, but didn't really get a straight answer. Basically my friend has Black Ops 3 (disc) and so do I (disc). My game is updated, but his is not because he doesn't have wifi...if I take my game from my internal HDD and move it to my external HDD, can I install the game on my friends ps4, or just play it off of the external HDD? I work in a high school, and there is a great amount of downtime in the summer. Obviously, remote play is blocked, but I have a Vita and a will to figure it out. And, of course, I have this sub. Any chances someone can give me some direction on how to get remote play working on my school's wifi?

DS4 left joystick issue and calibration
Hi Redditors! I have an tiny issue with the joystick on the Dualshock 4 that is mildly annoying. The problem starts with Bloodborne. I launch the game and my character doesn't run to the left as it will be pressing on full the other directions. It seems that it is not reaching the "far left" input correctly.
Then I go to Terraria or connected to my PC (where I can see how far the cursor travels in reference to a center). And I see that the neutral joystick is on the center. No surprises there. But when I describe a circle with the controller, I can see that the "circle" is a bit offset to the right, and that it doesn't reach complete left by a tiny margin. Unnoticeable by most games but noticeable by a few (aka Bloodborne).
My question is, is there any calibration tool to work with those inputs? Is there any other fix than going to reparation? The joystick has been repaired a week ago and I didn't notice any issue until launching this game.

So since I have had my ps4 from launch I have often always been able to manage my storage space fairly easy, picking and choosing my games that I would like to keep on my PS4, however what with having games such as KH 1.5+2.5 and others such as FF 12 and such its just becoming a pain.

Free games are games that require no money to play. Games that require a monthly subscription to play are not free by any definition of the word. So you just want multiplayer and consider the games a "free bonus?" Good for you, the price you pay is still based on those games being included in your purchase, and tailored to the profit margin Sony expects. They are not free, period.

PS+ discounts? I guess they're cool if you simply must go digital. Where I live, (USA), it is cheaper to buy a physical copy at regular price than a digital copy on sale. Add to that I can lend it to friends or sell it, and the price I get requires no monthly fee, and it's a no brainer.

PS+ and XBox Gold will continue to exist as long as enough people buy into this bullshit. The power to end this practice resides in each and every one of you. I have never payed for PS+ and I never will. Who else can say the same?

Youtube Livestreams Freezing
I'm an occasional competitive LoL watcher, and somehow the Youtube stream just seem to freeze while the sound continues playing everytime a lot of action is happening (teamfights). It can't be my internet because I'm on cable with 100mbps up and down. And the problem is solely happening on the PS4, since I have no problems on my phone or PC whatsoever. So anyone else experiencing this, might this be a software defect from Sony?

Does Remote Play decrease my wifi connection speeds?
When you enable Remote Play on the PS4, including the "local connection" option, the console starts its own Wifi Network to which the Vita or PC may connect.
Doesn't this split up the power of the already bad built-in network card? Connection's always slow (not only PSN) for me, so I figured that might be one reason?
DLing Doom corrupted my disc data?
Since it is the free weekend for Doom, I downloaded that overnight. I booted up my PS4 Pro this morning and found a "game" with a corrupted logo and name. Skyrim Remaster is currently in my disc drive.
I did little research and haven't seen anyone else having this issue. Thoughts on it? How should I go about resolving this? I have not tried the safe mode and rebuild, but want to be sure it's the newest and safest practice.
Edit: it solved itself after playing another game and then turned it off for a while.

These games I remember my parents got when we bought our PS4, this was around 98' maybe?
The first game at beginning you're a boxer or a fighter of some sort. After a match you're taken into concrete room and interrogated or tortured, I'm not sure but you definitely don't want to be there. I think these guys say they abducted your sister and to get her back you have to use your fighting prowess to do something for them. When you wake up you're in the middle of a cold, frozen tundra like environment. I remember the game had really difficult controls, being so young I don't think I ever figured it out.
The second game was a horror puzzle-y game. There are ghosts on this ship and you have to wander around helping some ghosts while avoiding others following really obscure clues. There's little direction and it takes a lot of figuring out what to do. One part I remember vividly was being in a long hallway on the ship and at the other end is a wraith of sorts and if you get too close to it you die instantly. You have to use an object to get around it.
The game definitely has a Japanese feel to it. It's first person and I don't believe you use any weapons, if you do it's not an important element to the game because the challenges mostly requiring finding obscure items laying around and using them.

1) Does the PS4 controller automatically stop charging when it's fully charged via wall charger? If no, are there any LED indicators to let me know the controller is fully charged?
2) If i delete a game on my profile will other profiles be effected by it? e.g. if i delete Persona 5 from my profile will it be deleted from every other profile.
My PS+ account expired 6 months ago. Got a new PS4. Can I renew my PS+ and re-download previous months' free games?

Missed charges - Cannot make purchases in the PS Store
I tried to make a purchase in the PS Store about a week ago, and on clicking 'Confirm purchase', received the error message saying (something like) 'You purchase may not have been successful, check transaction history'. I checked my transaction history, and there was an item names 'Missed charges'.
I tried to make this purchase several more times, even using a different debit card, but to no avail. So I firstly called my bank, who confirmed that there was no block of any kind on my debit card. Then I called Sony, who really didn't seem to care, and just gave me a generic answer to 'wait 48 hours and try again. And if it still doesn't work, wait another 24 hours.'
I did more than that; I waited an entire week. But when I attempt to make a purchase, I'm still receiving the exact same problem.
I've found some old threads of people reporting similar issues, but none offer a solution, so I thought I'd throw this out there. It's frustrating that half of my wish-list is on special offer right now, and I'm unable to buy any of it, so any solution would be greatly appreciated.

Platinum Headset owner! Still same issue with PC.
From an earlier post, I've now acquired the Platinum headset. I still have the issue where I plug in the receiver to any USB port on the PC, audio is still being heard, despite all controls set to mute on the PC.
Now, the only way I know of controlling the volume, PC-side, is by going into the volume mixer (click the speaker, choose the mixer link underneath the headset volume slider), and adjusting the individual application volumes. Either that, or just use the headset's buttons, but sometimes it is just easier to use, say, the volume dial on my Logitech G510s keyboard.
Any suggestions, fellow headset owners?
Strategy Games and why they're dead, i think.
Hey fellows
i wanted to talk a bit about strategy games at consoles and pc and why i think (with the exception of a few big aka. blizzard ones like starcraft and warcraft) are dead.
The reason i think production of those game got stomed in is simple: Hotkeys.
I think makros/ Hotkeys and that "APM" "Micromanagement with hotkeys" destroyed that type o games just because (speaking for myself and maybe others) you don't like to play online anymore cuz you will get destroyed within 1 minute cause of some rusher with apm of like 20k/sec.
they should have been more in casual section for that type of games meaning that without hotkeys and stuff the "skillcap" couldn't be that different.
I mean lets not forget this is Real time strategy. It shouldn't be possible to end a round in like 1-2 minutes no matter what tactics. Well sadly that became more and more normal for that genre which makes me mad ..
I would love to see series like AOE, C&C and stuff to be continued, but everything we get is that "APM" cancer like SC2..
What do u think about why there are so few RTS games continued last years ?

If I only put $5 down on a preorder for CoD WW2 at Gamestop do I still get a closed beta code? Was going to put $5 down on it this weekend if so. If I don't like it, I'll just cancel my preorder and get my $5 back.
And how do they give me the code?
Epic Quest: Need Game Suggestion
I'm looking for suggestions for a game purchase for my girlfriend. She just lost her dog to old age and needs something to take her mind off it. She's wanting a break from Star Dew Valley but has some very, very specific requirements. As I've wracked my brain trying to find something she'll enjoy only to come up empty handed, I'm hoping some PS4 fans can help me.
Is there a game that exists which comes close to these requests?
- Single Player (Co-op Is Entirely Optional)
- RPG
- No Swapping Between Characters In A Party (IE. Final Fantasy, Persona)
- Vibrant, Colorful Game World (No sepia tones like those in Dragon Age Inquisition or Skyrim)
- Strong Preference for Highly-Stylized Graphics Over Realism
- No Platforming
- Not Isometric
- Must Have Combat
- Easy or Relaxing Gameplay

What do you think about that?
Can you use any micro USB cable to charge the DS4 controller? I heard "fast chargers" damage the controller. Is this related to the choice of cable?
Looking to buy a longer cable but I have read that "fast chargers" damage controllers. Is this referring specifically to wall chargers, like phone chargers and the like?
Is there any risk of damage by using a randomly purchased micro USB cable and hooking it up directly via the PS4?

Does anyone else ever have this problem?
There's a lot of times when I'm in the PlayStation Store & I'll click to go to a new page of a game or a different category, or even when I go to my cart to buy a game, it will keep on loading forever & either half load or it won't load at all. So to fix this I have to hit the home button to go to the home page, & then hit the home button again to return to the page I was just on, then it will fully load. I'm not sure if the problem is on PlayStation's side or if there is something wrong with my PS4 or connection. It shouldn't necessary be my connection bc I have decent service. Does anyone else ever have this issue.
