Hi, Just a few days ago I went to use my PS4 after a month of not using it. It worked fine before, and had not been moved around. Currently, the monitor shows a blank black screen (there is some input, but nothing shows) and the PS4 home menu music plays. I have an ASUS vg248qe monitor. However, I currently have my friends PS4 aswell and it works fine with the same HDMI and monitor without changing any settings. I am not sure if my HDMI port is broken, but it seems to be perfectly intact which baffles me. Here is a picture of my HDMI in my PS4 if someone can tell me if there is something wrong:
I purchased this PS4 on release day a few years ago and I have not had any problems until now. If it is the HDMI port that is the problem it is 35$ CAD to "repair the existing HDMI port" or 110$ "if a new HDMI port is needed." says the console repair shop"
Things I have tried: 1) different HDMI 2) putting into sleep mode 3) new TV 4) disabling HDCP
However, nothing works. If anyone can provide any insight on: 1) is my HDMI port broken 2) if not the HDMI, what is broken 2) is it worth it to pay 110$ if it needs to be replaced 3) Can the HDMI be repaired 4) What is my best action right now
Thank you to anybody who can help :P
EDIT: Ok upon inspecting the HDMI port to take a clearer picture I found the is a singular gold pin missing on the bottom of the HDMI port, and this is likely the problem correct? What does this mean in terms of repair
