I've spent this weekend wrapping my head around The Witcher III and I'm glad I bought in.

At first it was overwhelming, no joke. But I just thought to myself there is no rush, this is a game that's going to take months to fully explore and complete.. plenty of time to learn.

The first area I spent all day yesterday on foot exploring the entire land mass looking for all power stones, exposing every question mark, finding all hidden treasures, looting yellow/blue magical swords/armor, spending time deciding on how I'm going to level/play this character.

I got to say I'm having a fucking blast. It has that... what's around the corner or just one more play to it for me. I'm enjoying the combat, the spells, tunes, looting, picking up all the quests that I find. I'm not really touching the main quest but rather looking to do all the side quests while exploring the land.

It's a impressive game in scale no doubt. The graphics at time look really good then at others the look rather bland but they never look bad to awful.

Overall I can see this as a game that I'll sink a few hours a week into it and enjoy for a few months. Especially the nights the wife works nights and gets off at 9:30 when I'm usually home for 2:30 gives me a solid 4-6 hours of gaming.

I'm so in love with the PS4... the hardware, software, PSVR, online aspect. It's just outstanding. Thinking I have a game console with a with a 2.1ghz CPU 8 core AMD, gpu's capable of 4.2 teraflops of computational power, 8 gigs of GDDR5 and additional 1gig ram for OS, 1 terabyte HD that's capable of rendering some truly outstanding fidelity.

Great time to be a gamer!
