Resident Evil 7 really is a return to form for the franchise

So, I've started playing this game during the weekend and I've gotta say, the game really does retain the feeling of the original RE or Silent Hill, while still being scary as fuck and having a modern feel to it.

The way puzzles work, everything is scarce and each enemy has to be treated with the utmost respect. I am absolutely impressed with what I've played so far (I guess I'm nearing the end now).

I am a pussy for horror movies/games, and I normally try to stay away from these. I found RE7 to be just tolerable in this regard. If you're like me, my only advice would be not to play it with a headset. I started the game with the headset on and I was feeling like I was about to have a heart attack during the whole introduction segment (on broad daylight with the window open). After that I kept playing without the headset and while there's still scare-jump moments, I found them to be quite tolerable.

TL;DR - RE7 is an excellent game, if you liked the original ones or even the Silent Hill games, give it a try!
