Sony shouldn't pull an Intel (the X299 Core i9 fiasco) in trying to respond to The XBox One X. It would be much more sensible to release an update. I see 12GB Memory, a 4K Blu Ray drive at the same price of US $399. Thoughts?
Edit: For readers who commented that this is illogical, ponder this : Consoles are closer to PC specs than ever before, thus, keeping an eye on the PC development is certainly warranted. Gone are the days of custom cell architecture of the PS3. Both consoles use AMD parts, though custom. The reason I am skeptical of the PS5 is because PC development has plateaued, and sooner or later it'll end up affecting console development as well. What if the PS5 is not the generational jump we expect, like the previous were? What if your PS 5 is just this PS4 PRO + ?
