Anyone using an HDMI splitter? Need some help.

I want to be able to output my PS4 Pro to two different displays (not necessarily simultaneously). However one will be 4K and one 1080p. I'm wondering how the PS4 might react to two different resolution displays, will I be able to select 4K output and still see properly on the 1080p screen? I've never used an HDMI splitter before...
