CONTROLLER Troubles

I plug in my PS4 controller, the orange light appears once and then goes away. Controller is not turning on or showing any other signs of life . RESET doesn't work nor does pressing the PS button / share button simoutaneoualy​ or individually , in fact whenever i do press the PS button nothing happens. And tips or suggestions?
