Came home from work today and noticed my trusty PS4 that i've literally had since a few months after release was not lit up or powered on.
Didn't think much of it really, and I went to press the power button. Nothing happened. No beeps, No lights, No sound whatsoever.
I've tried unplugging for 30 seconds...nothing changed...still completely dead. Tried airdusting it, and nothing changed. Tried taking the HDMI cable out and powering it up with no HDMI, nothing! Tried plugging it into every damn power outlet in my house to no avail! Even tried holding down the power button for practically an hour with my fingers crossed that it would somehow give me a noise of some sort or factory reset.
Controller can't even connect or find the signal.
It's officially bricked...and I am stumped on this!
This is a very strange issue, considering there are virtually no resources anywhere online about an issue like this!
The only thing I haven't tried yet is buying a new power cable...which I doubt will work.
Also, I don't know if this is related or not, but for the past month my controller acted strange and would disconnect frequently. It would continuously pop up with controller disconnected notification, then pop up with low battery notification over and over...even though my controller was plugged into the usb and working just fine.
I feel like either a firmware update may have somehow crept into my system while I was at work and bricked the console, or this thing has finally died of old age. Way out of warranty...anyone ever heard of issues like this before?!!
