I saw about 50% of new games purchased are digital downloads and I have no clue why. It seems to me that a digital download and a hard copy of new games are the same price (on average). Sometimes for $10 more you can get a nice steelbook with some special/extra downloads.
The biggest thing is there is no resale value of a digital downloaded game. If you buy it and beat it quickly or just don't like it, you can't sell it back to a shop or on eBay to get some cash to put towards another game.
I have bought games that are on sale through PSN ($2-$5) when they are still more than that on the internet and have downloaded the free monthly games but not new games.
It makes no sense to me, am I missing something?
