I know this is quite common but has anyone received any strange messages in their inbox?

I'm used to the odd spam message and such but I received a particularly weird one about 15 minutes ago. It was like a code, it was in same format as an IP address and a MAC address combined, but basically just a random collection of numbers and letters?
