If you're wondering why you're not receiving PS emails, read this.

Hey all.

For quite a while now, I have been trying to figure out why I do not receive the weekly PlayStation newsletters and other emails (like the Platinum themes/avatar for Bloodborne and Horizon, etc). I have always had the boxes checked for receiving emails from Sony on my account, yet the only emails I've been receiving from them over the past year are PS Store receipts. However, it was not always this way as I used to receive the emails. There have been a couple of times I changed the Sign-in ID to my account (email address), and I believe this is what has caused the issue of not receiving the intended emails.

After relaying the problem to PlayStation support with two different individuals, it finally came to their attention that one of the email address changes to my account never updated on their backend. They have a record base of email addresses for accounts that is managed separately, and the one they had on file for my account did not match up with what I have been using. After noticing the problem, they manually changed the email address on their end to match my account.

So, if you're wondering why you NEVER receive PlayStation emails that are not PS Store receipts, ask yourself if you've ever changed your email address. If yes, there's a high chance you need to call support to ensure their records match up. You may need to speak with multiple people as well. The first woman I spoke to said there was absolutely no way it was their fault and that Gmail was to blame, then I spoke to a man and he almost immediately recognized there was a problem.
