Is safe to charge the Dualshock 4 v2 controller with a Sony Xperia Z1 charger?

The charger has 1500mAh output and I see 800mAh at the PS4 controller so can the charger affect the battery of my controller? I don't really know how the battery of a DS4 works and how to charge without damaging it, I would appreciate some advices. I even heard that the fast chargers can damage DS4's battery but I really don't know how to identify one.
