I have been playing OMD:U and I must say I do enjoy it. It has a bit of RNG, but ultimately you can save up and get the characters you want if you are willing to work for it.
I haven't played Fortnite yet, but my friends and I are considering it as an alternative to OMD:U. I have been reading up and it looks like Fortnite is almost exclusively RNG with no option to save up points for a specific character. Instead, the game sounds like it makes you roll RNG in hopes of maybe getting a character you like without giving you the option to outright buy that character with points.
If anyone who has played the game can confirm that I would appreciate it.
Everything I have read on the Fortnite sub, and online makes the game sound like after awhile you are stuck behind a paywall that prevents you from advancing in the game unless you shell out a bunch of cash. I don't know how accurate this is. I want to give the game a shot, but the entry price for a F2P game is steep for a founders pack and everything I've read so far about it makes it seem like it's a massive cash sink. I'd love to get some feedback and opinions. I really enjoy this style of game and OMD has been a blast. If Fortnite is as good I want to try it out, but the initial feedback so far has me hesitating to pull the trigger.
Should I just stick with the safe bet OMD, or is Fortnite the better long term choice for an investment?
