so i was redownloading a game while my while my 1TB slim seagate hardrive was plugged in at the time. i decided to put it to rest mode, and after a while come back. Unfortunately when i turned back on, my ps4 ended up hardlocking at the user select screen, so i had to power it off manually to fix it. after the reboot, however, it said my external hdd had to be repaired. the repair ended up failing with error CE-30005-8. Now whenever i try to reformat for extended storage, it just takes a long time and errors out with CE-37856-9. i had this device working since the update first came, and some of it still work, like can still format into exFAT just fine and it also still works for my laptop. I looked all over the internet to find solutions and any post with a similar issue but couldn't find anything.
EDIT: I will also mention that i had this same issue at the time when the update first came out, but the problem apparently just fixed itself after a few days and randomly deciding to to try it and somehow it just formated properly with no issue. i will probably try that again but would know if there is a proper fix for this issue.
