I've got a 3TB external disk attached to my PS4 that I've been using for game installs for a while now. I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on an SSD upgrade for the internal storage, and wanted to make sure there aren't going to be any problems along the way.
I had come across a thread on the EU PSN forums pertaining to the PS4 refusing to perform a system backup to an external disk that was used as extended storage, but I don't know if that's still the case (or ever was).
Can someone advise me as to the best way to proceed with an internal HDD->SSD upgrade, given that I have a single 3TB external drive I'd like to use for backup, but which is already used to store game installs?
If it helps, I do have a PS+ subscription so I shouldn't lose any save data if I can redownload it...right?
Thanks!
