PS4 Pro Optical Port Issues

My PS4 is connected to my 10+ year old receiver. I use the optical port to output audio in surround sound. The other night, I was playing a game when the sound started to sporadically cut out. I tried to investigate to see if anything was loose, then suddenly all sound was gone. I thought that it was the receiver's optical port that was broken or just old, so I went out to buy a analog to digital adapter so I could listen again. But then it still doesn't work. I wiggle the port on the PS4 and I occasionally hear sound again, but it cuts out again. I then plugged the cord into my PS3 and the sound was fine, so I believe that the PS4 optical port has issues. The red light is still on, however.

The question is, how easy is it for the PS4 Pro's optical port to be damaged? I didn't do anything that would damage it. Can turning up the volume too high have anything to do with it? Also, will the PS4 warranty cover the optical output defect? I would love to play my PS4 soon again...
