The DualShock4 needs better designs

The DualShock4 is a great controller. It's comfortable, durable, and is one of my favorite controllers ever. But the thing it's lacking in my opinion...

Cool controller designs.

I mean yeah sure there are different colors like red, blue, gold, silver, and camo. And sure there are some limited edition ones like the Star Wars one, the COD BO3 one, Uncharted 4 one, and the 29th Anniversary one. But that's it. There are no multicolor options (like the Dawn Shadow and Ocean Shadow XB1 controllers). There are no options that have grips on them or any type of unique design aspect.

Let's look at the comparisons between the amount of options as far as new controllers go on the official websites for the PS4 and XB1 and from most retailers.

PS4: - Black - Red - Blue - Gold - Silver - Green Camo - White Camo - Black Ops 3 - Uncharted 4 - 20th Anniversary

XB1: - Black - White - Red - Blue - Recon Tech (Grips on controller) - Ocean Shadow - Dawn Shadow - Green/Orange - Gears of War 4 Blue - Gears of War 4 Red - Covert Forces - Armed Forces - Winter Forces - Halo 5 Master Chief - Halo 5 Locke - Elite Controller

That's just the list of what's available on their websites plus the Gold and Silver PS4 controllers. Not to mention that there are at least 6 or more XB1 controllers that aren't available on their website such as the Titanfall Special Edition, Copper Shadow, and Lunar White.

Not only that, but Microsoft has the Xbox Design Lab where, for 80 bucks, you get to design your own unique controller. You pick every single part of what the controller looks like from the face plate and D-Pad to the triggers and Start buttons. It's super fun to go in and make the controller your own personal one. I've Sony had a version of this, I know I'm not the only one who would want to make one.

The point I'm getting at here is that if you look at the list of PS4 Controllers released vs. the list of XB1 controllers released, there's a large discrepancy in both numbers and designs/aesthetics. I get that a good amount of people don't care what color the controller is and just want the darn thing to work, but it would be awesome if Sony got a little creative in their future controller colors and designs.

TL;DR: Sony needs to be creative about their controller designs and colors.
