Tip for getting the Gold/Platinum Relic in The High Road. Crash Bandicoot

I'm not sure if this was already said or not but I seemed to have noticed that when using the d-pad on ropes he would move a hell of a lot and fall off. Well I tried the analog stick and once I was on I never fell off. You move a lot less with a quick flick of the stick than when you use the d-pad. Been at it for hours but did it in 10 tries with the analog stick.
