With update 4.5 and external hard driver support is there a way to

So I recently bought a new hard drive off Amazon (this one) and now I want to put it in my PS4. My question is with the new PS4 external hard drive support can I transfer over to it using one of these external hard drive casings? Or do I have to follow the same process as listed on the sidebar?

Basically I ordered both during the Amazon prime day deals and they didn't work the way I was originally planning so now I'm trying to speed up the process of upgrading the internal hard drive.
