I bought it last Saturday. Came home, installed it, and played for about 15 minutes before leaving for a party that night. I hadn't turned on my PS4 until yesterday when I finally got time to play.
I pushed the PS button on my controller to turn the console on but nothing happened. Weird, I checked the power cable and it was connected. So I just pulled it out and waited a few minutes, put it back in, and the console turned on just fine but with the typical "checking hard drive" message.
But god damn it the UI was slow as molasses, I've never experienced this before. Whatever. I booted up Final Fantasy 15 and the start screen popped up with the 4 dudes and stayed there for around 2-3 minutes before my PS4 shut down. Turned it back on and got booted into safe mode. Went to play Overwatch instead and the same thing happened, hung at the splash screen before eventually shutting down.
I gave up that night and tried to play Uncharted Collection just now. Again, my UI was ridiculously slow and unresponsive. Uncharted did the same thing and hung at the splash screen before forcing my PS4 to shut down and give me a "A system error was detected" message.
I'v had this PS4 since launch and have had literally zero issues since day 1 minus a handful of game crashes, most of which were in No Man's Sky. I've never experienced a power outage and I have never, ever used rest mode. The only thing that has changed is the Final Fantasy 15 install and since then, the PS4 is just not booting up any games or apps.
Has anyone experienced anything similar with FFXV or any other titles? If I hard/factory reset my console, would I lose my saves and all that shit? I really don't wanna re-download all my games, saves, and apps and lose all my screenshots and game captures (I've tried many times to transfer them to a USB but no USB I've ever used has worked).
Thank you in advance.
