GameStop won't allow me to cancel my "pre order" call of duty.

The game is not out yet and I want to cancel because I find it cheaper at Amazon because I have Amazon prime. I went to the store and they won't give me my $5 that I deposit to pre order because they gave me a pre order bonus which was a hat. That was like 3 months ago before I knew about Amazon. What do I do?
