How is yooka laylee on ps4 now after the big patch?

Been looking to get this game because 3D platformers were the definition of my childhood. But I'd seen terrible reviews on the ps4 concerning lag and camera issues. Did the new patch address those issues and is it worth picking up while on sale this week?
