Is it just me or would some AC games be better without the typical AC stuff?

Now I actually like the series, at least some games but I feel like the typical AC stuff (same old Assassins vs Templars, some Piece of Eden and weird shit) is getting repetitive and holding the games back.

Specifically Black Flag which is already a great Pirate game would have been way better if they dropped all that stuff and focused more on the Pirate stuff & gave it more depth.

Same for Syndicate and the gangs vibe they were going for. It half assed both parts.

Now the latest game looks really good but again I fear that it will be the same old Assassins vs Templars shit that we have seen more than a dozen times (its not like it ever changes) and there will be some weird artifact etc. and thats it.

Ubisoft should just make a proper historical series imho.
