The best multiplayer community around?

So, since I bought my PS4 last year, I have been mostly playing single-player games. My experience with multiplayer games is very negative. I used to play WoW, but I got tired because, unless you have friends to play with, the game gets really boring. My other experience is with LoL - and everyone knows the problem with this game: toxic community, you are a hugely dependent on others to have a good gaming experience, etc. But playing only single-player games gets a bit lonely after a while too.

Taking this into consideration, what are the best multiplayer (and mature) communities out there? Particularly in games where you can still have some fun when others decide to troll.
