The game is not dead at all. The marketing of the game was very low key and many people still haven't realized the game even exists. The que times to get in a game are less than a minute at all hours of the day. I have been playing since launch and have played everywhere from 3 am to 12 pm.
The people who say the game is dead are the people who don't have it. r/lawbreakers is growing by the day so that in itself proves it isn't dead. My advise is to get the game and enjoy it. It's a great game and if you "think" it's dead and you don't buy in you are only contributing to the problem.
So is it dead? No. Will it have a mass following with millions of people like battlefield or call of duty? Probably not. Will it grow into a great community with lots of content for free and amazing gameplay? Yes, it already is. Check out r/lawbreakers you will not see anyone complaining about how the game sucks unlike a subreddit like r/fortnite. If you pass this one up you will be sorry!
