I'm super disappointed with Aloy's obnoxious, anti-religion personality even though I agree with a lot of what she believes. Aloy clearly hates religion in Horizon Zero Dawn and I'm finding it hard to bring myself to finish the game when the protagonist is so rude and dismissive of everyone around her. Just look at what CDPR did with Witcher. Clearly, Geralt is a far superior and more neutral protaganist than this obnoxious creature.
Uncharted Lost Legacy's Chloe seems to be showing a similar mindset judging from the trailers with phrases like "I don't need luck" and saying "Hindu myths" are her father's thing rather than her's. These studios need to bring back light-hearted writers like Amy Hennig because I play games for fun rather than have someone else's political views constantly shoved down my throat in the most annoying manner possible.
Anyway, is the future of western gaming going to be a lack of fantasy and disdain for supernatural elements with obnoxious protagnists?
