Dead By Daylight - activity outside of free weekend?

So, I've tried Dead by Daylight for the free weekend, and I'm really enjoying it. Wondering now how active it is when it's not a free weekend? Are there any regular players that can comment? I have a friend on PC who says it's difficult for him to find a game, so I'm trying to decide if it's worth buying on PS4 or not.
