Hi,
I've got an older style PS4, the glacier white with touch buttons. It's almost 3 years old but has only had about 10 hours play (pretty much got it for Last of Us).
It seems to have picked up the disc eject bug, where it will randomly eject discs. Even if there is no disc inside, it still keeps beeping and the motors are trying to eject a disc.
I've scoured the internet and tried all suggestions, such as updating firmware, hard resets, removing the rubber foot under power button, tightening the disc eject screw, nothing works.
I've contacted Sony, if I pay $280 they will take it in and give me a refurb. They will not fix it for free as it's out of warranty.
I can pay the flat rate $144 for EB Games to fix it, but its only guaranteed for 3 months, concerned they might try the "solutions" I mentioned above and say "works for me".
Has anyone else had this issue? What did you do? Should I open it up myself and disconnect the eject button and rely on software eject?
