PS4 Controller won't charge properly.

I bought the KontrolFreek Charger cable a couple months back because they're supposed to charge your controller quicker than the normal chargers but now my controller won't charge properly, it randomly stops charging. What's the issue? Is the battery fried? Is the port on the controller just faulty? PLEASE HELP. This is starting to drive me nuts, I don't really want to throw money at the problem if it's possible to avoid doing. Thanks.
