PS4 Flashing Colors on Monitor

Hello everyone, I am having a little bit of trouble getting my PS4 to output video to my 1440p QNIX monitor. I have a passive DVI-D to HDMI converter that I tried, but when connected the screen only displayed full screen colors (Red, Green, Yellow, etc.). From what I gather online an active converter might solve this, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know what will fix this?
