What's an ideal setup for a PSTV in a separate room for remote play?

Wanting a little game station in the bedroom with a gaming monitor and PSTV(vs big screen and couch in living room) Anyone have experience with this? How do I avoid lag with the og ps4, or how noticable will it be?Should both be wired connections? I have "fiber", if that helps.
