E-801809A8 - 2 Weeks in, no solution and over 260,000 views on Sony Forums

Hey Guys,

This is something that's unfolding pretty intensely. It's been 2 weeks or so since 5.00 Firmware has caused the E-801809A8 error code for users (such as myself) without a BR Drive in our PS4.

There's a forum post on Playstation EU forums with over 260,000 views, with more than 2500 replies and 120 pages.

There was rumor of a patch for affected users, but it seems that Sony is now telling people to return their PS4s and pay a repair fee. Some users have received a free replacement. Yet, there's plenty of users in countries' outside of Sony's support network, which get the shaft on this.

I think this is something that should be more known and talked about. It's screwed over a large amount of users.
