I am gaming more on the Pro than I do my gaming rig and I cannot pin point why...

Let me see if I can explain this (scroll to end for TL;DR)...

First, a little history:

I have been gaming way longer than I would care to admit. I have always owned a gaming PC and a console. My family and friends have only had consoles, so to play multiplayer with them, I would buy the console that they went with. Single player was reserved for the PC.

I had a PS4 at launch, but I bought a PS4 Pro when it launched last year. I noticed that I started playing much more on the Pro than on my PC. So much so that I made a deal with my wife that if I could go a certain amount of time without playing the PC and only playing the Pro, I would stop upgrading and strictly play the console.

I go for quite a while. In fact, it was long enough to convince myself to sell my rig. So, I dig it out and hook up to make sure everything is still good to go. I reformat the drive, install some games and took them for a run. Immediately notice the difference in loading times and FPS. I thought to myself, i cannot get rid of this thing. The gaming experience is amazing.

Well, fast forward a bit (I am talking like days), I found myself tweaking with the settings on the PC...I mean, way more than one should have to get the settings right. This is probably a personal and obsessive problem with me, but I was not happy with performance and it was ridiculous. I mean, frame rates were only jumping around a few at a time and I would aggressively hit the start button and fidget with the damn settings.

I used the presets...not happy. I used GeForce Experience optimization...not happy. I customized my settings...not happy. I would get 60 FPS, but I knew I could push out more IQ...not happy. I would tweak .ini files...not happy.

I mean, it went on and got to the point where I took a step back and realized the main reasons why I went full time Pro in the first place...time and enjoyment. So, I decided to put my settings on medium/high and just went with it.

I do not have the time like I used to, so my priority should be focused on gaming and not any of the other stuff that gets me frustrated...and it is frustrating.

Okay, let's come back to the present:

Lately, I have been more likely to jump on the PS4 Pro to play games than on my gaming rig and I really cannot pinpoint exactly why. Even though I can max most games out at 1080p @ 60FPS on my rig, I want to game on the Pro.

I cannot pin point exactly what it is. I can tell the difference in load times and FPS, but I don't care, even with that rig sitting right next to the Pro. I love the way it looks when I boot up the Pro. I love the ecosystem. The exclusives are something else, for sure. I love the DS4 controller, too. However, you would think you would have more fun with a machine that can offer a more graphically and frame rate enhanced experience, but it is not the case.

I find myself drawn into playing the Pro. Perhaps, it is the ease of use, no settings to tweak, the social aspect of the console to something else...I don't know. All I know is that I am having fun playing games again without worry about that stuff that I described previously.

Anyhow, I was just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience to mine. I apologize in advance for the lengthy post and if you read through it, thank you.

TL;DR

After PC gaming for a long time, I find my time going to the PS4 Pro when I want to game. For some reason I cannot wrap my finger around, I find the overall experience much more enjoyable to that on a rig that can max out graphics and frame rate.

Thank you in advance for your responses and the conversation.
