Is there any way to fix a broken stick on the controller?

The right stick in my controller is not working properly. When I turn right it stops moving and I have to keep pressing it for it to eventually work, which is a nightmare, especially in MP. The left stick works just fine, is this a known problem with a solution? Or do I have to buy a new controller?
