I can't be the only person thinking this. Excuse me for being late to the party, firstly, but I waited forever to play MGSV, one of this month's free games on PS Plus, because I could not afford it sooner. It ended up sitting aimlessly in my Steam wishlist ever since it released, and I ignored the sales and discounts because other games came out and my attention was elsewhere. Now, I am extremely grateful and excited to finally play it for free, thanks to the PS Plus program.
However, I'm also a newcomer to this series, mainly because I missed out on having a PS3 during my tumultuous teenage years. I've read so much about how playing MGSV for a long-time fan of the series has huge payoffs. I want to experience that! But, none of the games are available to play on the PS4, whether through the PSNow service or as an official game release on the console itself. How could this be? Isn't Metal Gear one of their most valued properties? Kingdom Hearts gets oodles of rereleases, but not Metal Gear? You can no longer play the games on Xbox either, because the 360 HD collection is not backwards compatible. So now not only are the games from the HD collection lost in the ether, but so is 'Guns of the Patriots'. What a bummer!
I'm a bit of a stickler for lore and doing things in order, and I realize that I should be ashamed of myself for not playing the games until now, but I feel like this is a simple problem to fix and it would fill a small but important gap in the PS4's library. I have a lot of respect for Kojima and I love what he's doing in the future (Death Stranding!), but I have a hard time believing Konami has decided to let these already remastered Metal Gear games basically skip a console generation altogether.
Can we at least have a quick and dirty HD release? Release them on PSNow maybe?
EDIT: Gotta be honest, I'm taken aback at the fact that I'm getting resistance to this...downvotes, disagreements. The games aren't available, I wanna play them. What, we hate this series on this sub or something? I'm confused.
