[HELP] Having to suddenly download an update file via USB even though the PS4 was working fine up until then?

So I was playing on my PS4 tonight and I had to switch rooms as the room I usually play in is below my parents room so when I plugged it back in it said I had to manually download update file 4.72 even though I was just on it with friends ten minutes before. I have tried to do that very same thing around four times even checking the official PlayStation website due to an error code I kept receiving and bow I have no idea what to do can anyone help?
