Kind of a dumb question about my save files

To put into context, I bought and played GTA V on a disc but I don't have it anymore so I'm thinking about buying it digitally. So if I were to buy GTA V to download, would my save files transfer? I'm like 90 percent sure they will I just want to be sure.
