Tl;dr Use 2nd account with a PlayStation Network access.
Longer saga.
So I found out about PS4 remote play for PC. After upgrading to Win10, I set about playing. Only every time I connected my dualshock it killed the connection.
After a lot of painstaking screwing about, I found the cause. You can't log in twice, it kills the 2nd connection.
When you first log into remote play it'll ask for your PSN details. This is your computer talking to your PS4. You can even navigate with keyboard.
If you connect a dualshock, and log into another user, like guest, no problem! Start playing.
But if you want to play your games when you connect to your account, it kills the PC connection. If you turn on the TV you'll see you're now logged in as you on the TV.
The solution means you need:
- second account.
- must have psn sign in (can't just be guest).
So if anyone is having a problem with this, here's your guide.
- ps4: log out of all accounts.
- pc: click 'change device' then register manually.
- ps4: turn on chapstick, log into dummy account with psn. Go to settings, remote play, and find the 8 digit code.
- pc: add that code. You should now connect to the ps4 as the dummy, and the dualshock will turn off.
- pc: turn on dualshock, and log into YOUR account.
If this all worked, you should now be up and running.
I'm off to play Lords of the Fallen from the bedroom.
