[No Spoilers] I beat Yakuza 0 this past weekend. I liked the story, didn't like (at all) the storytelling. The ending, though... I feel that's how all developers should shoot for when building an ending.

It took me 3 months to finish "Yakuza 0" just because of how painful it was to go through the cutscenes and still-scene dialogs.

Previously to "Yakuza 0" I had only played a bit of "Yakuza 3" before I got utterly bored got to the part where they kill the chairman of the family that own the land where the orphanage is

I thought that through the years, the gameplay balance in the games would've gotten better, but no. It's their trademark.

The talking-playing ratio was way off for my liking. I know it's a brawler, you fight shit in these games. But the fact that 10 minutes of fighting and wandering around equated to 20 minutes of watching made it nearly impossible to sit through more than an hour with Yakuza 0 running on my PS4.

It wasn't like in other games where after some gameplay time you get rewarded with a cutscene. Here it was more like "oh great... another cutscene"

Yes, it has minigames to diversify gameplay, but while some of them are very good, get old after some time.

So, after 3 months of painful playing of this game I got to the end (hats off to the last chapter) and, holy shit, the game delivered finally.

Tying all the loose ends, expanding of the "what happens after", rewarding the player for beating the game...

The amount of games that have a shit, half-baked ending is much higher than what it should be accepted. Especially games where you invest +15 hours just to get through the story.

Not even taking into consideration those games that end with a "to be continued" and don't even close plots from the game's story.
