Orcs Must Die - How do I enable "Allow Chat" ?

I made a post on the OMD subreddit, but it's quite dead. Hoping someone who may have recently downloaded the PS4 version can help me out...

My ingame voice chat is disabled for some reason. When I press the DS4 touch button, I can bring up a "stats" page, which shows a checkmark next to "Allow Chat" for each player. However, I'm missing that checkmark, meaning my "Allow Chat" isn't enabled..

I for the life of me cannot find out how to enable this. Nor can I find any page on the internet that can help answer this. It's extremely frustrating not being able to talk to/hear my teammates.

PS4 party works fine. I can invite people in and talk to them. Yes, I've ensured I wasn't in a party when ingame, as being in a party will prioritize party chat.

Please help!
