PS4 Backup Question

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone might have an answer to this: In short, can I backup data via USB to an external drive, move that data onto my NAS or PC, then restore it from a different device later?

Long story short, I bought a 2TB Firecuda for my PS4. I want to backup everything (including PT). I should be able to backup to the firecuda, transfer everything off to my nas, format the firecuda and install it, transfer the data to the now old (orignal) ps4 HD, then restore the backup. I'm not sure if it's just a /ps4/savedata setup, or if it somehow tags the data to the drive that it was transferred to.
