PS4 slim with Dell S2716dg or any other monitor for that matter.... so... how do you get sound?

So my friend just mailed me his ps4 just cause i told him i wanted to play persona 5 that one time (good friend).

I haven't owned any consoles in awhile, and I'm not particularly technically adept, so forgive me if I'm asking a stupid question, but uh... how do you get sound? The only means by which I've been able to get sound is using an earphone with the ps4 dualshock.

I just connect HDMI to HDMI with my ps4 slim and monitor, but my monitor doesn't have speakers, not that I'd want to listen via that method anyway.

I just have standard speakers, and I believe the Slim in contrast to the PS4 standard doesn't have an Optical Audio Port.

So... am i missing something here. Is there no way to connect the PS4 Slim with my speakers?
