Problem with Assassin Creed Freedom's Cry (game of the month)

During the fourth mission when you are stealing the ship, you supposed to light a keg of powder under a watch tower to cause a distraction. I have done this several times and the trigger isn't occurring. Has any one else experienced this glitch? I'm at a loss as to how to move forward with the game.
