What game can you suggest to get me into gaming?

I’ve barely touched a video game since the Game Cube days. I’d like to get back into gaming but everything looks a bit intimidating and complicated.

I’m not into sports or racing. I like the look of zombie/survival/post apocalyptic type games but i’m open to suggestions. I really want something I can pick up and play, is easy to get into and doesn’t require me to invest hundreds of hours in.
